This place has the best carrot cake in the whole world. I have had a lot of carrot cakes but this one was worth the drive for us. It was delicious AND gluten free. Will be coming back that’s for sure.

MANAGERADMITTEDNOTCELIACSAFEBECAUSEIT’S NOTFINANCIALLYVIABLEWHENCONFRONTED!!! «The locals we cater to all know we use a special paper wrapper for GF bread» was the flippant response we received before the complaint escalated. I wish that I could give less than 1 star after the experience I just had. After telling the employee helping them that they needed everything to be gluten free, ordering a birthday cake for my husband, picking out cookies, and then purchasing a loaf of sourdough bread, it was never explained or mentioned to my mother-in-law that there was anything with gluten in the store, since their regular bakery is just up the street within easy walking distance.(WHYWOULDYOUCARRY&SLICEREGULARBREADAT A BAKERYTHATHASGLUTENFREEINITSNAME!!!) The staff is ignorant about cross-contamination, and by not verifying that the NON-LOCAL they were serving understood that they offer mixed products without clear labels or signs to indicate, I am forced to miss work due to the severity of my celiac reaction. We had quietly been annoyed with the rude, eye-rolling girl who had served us on a previous visit, but even the manager was immediately defensive and rude about the situation when my husband called. The worst part is that there was absolutely no remorse or apology for the assumptions or miscommunications made. Never again.

Most important thing I can say is that customers should be aware that only SOME of the baked goods sold here are in fact gluten free. There are little signs placed around about this fact, but some folks don’t read signs. Just be aware and if gluten free is a critical health concern then be sure to ASK about each item you are buying, just to be safe. That said… I want to like this place more, however it could improve quite a bit. But I’ve recently added a star because service has improved over the past few months. 1) The service is frequently not great when they’re busy, because they’re often understaffed. 2) It’s overdue for a thorough cleaning, painting, and de-cluttering. This bakery was so lovely and bright when it first opened. It’s getting dog-eared both inside and out. It’s so nice to sit outside at the tables during warm weather, but the cracked planters and ‘trellises’ if you could call them that, are sagging, leaning and tied together, hoses and grubby 5 gallon pails, giant blobs of orange window caulking, and various junk stored there– it’s basically just a crudely cordoned off section of the asphalt parking lot. I wish they’d make the outdoor table area nicer with an actual deck flooring or flagstone etc instead of the asphalt, and a permanent low wall railing to differentiate it from being part of the parking lot. And get rid of the junk. C’mon, Svi! The outside terrace could be SO pleasant with a little effort. 3) The acoustics are a problem if you want to sit inside. I realize this is not easy to control, but it doesn’t help when they put rock music on that competes with the espresso grinder, the bread slicing machine, people talking, and the OTHER radio playing in the kitchen with the connecting door left wide open. Maybe it doesn’t bother other folks, but I find it hard to think or talk and enjoy my meal with all that racket. If these three issues were addressed, I’d go there more often, the food has been ok whenever I’ve eaten there. –It IS kid friendly as there’s room to maneuver with toddlers, a high chair, and it’s very casual and not expensive. –It’s bike friendly since there’s plenty of places to lean or lock your bike outside and still see it. –They are good about allowing a coffee refill.

If you are looking for gluten free, this bakery can’t be beat. The breads and sweets are the best around. Everything is consistently good. The deli is never a bad choice either. I usually opt for the salads.

Wonderful food, decent portions, and the only place I ever found gluten free raisin bread. If the ambiance were a bit nicer, it would be a five star place.

A place with delicious vegetarian food is a place for me and my family!(All of us are vegetarian.) The bakery is exclusively gluten free but they also have regular bread/pastries from Our Daily Bread Deli down the street for those of us without a gluten intolerance. Can’t get enough!

I love«ODB», as we like to call it in Chatham! They have the best soups around. I love everything except one or two, and they always give you lots of bread with it… very soul satisfying! The salads are large and plentiful, and ingredients are all very fresh. It can be noisy and crowded and the staff can be rather surly, but this is all part of the ODB experience. Lunch time is often not for the faint of heart! One note: Not everything here is gluten free. If you have celiac, you really need to be clear about that, otherwise your sandwich might be made with a contaminated knife, etc. Things like soup are a safe bet… just tell them to give you the gluten free bread with it. Five stars to the GF lemon cake… everyone LOVES that lemon cake. You will, too!

Cozy café with great soups, quiches and tasty gluten-free baked goods. My favorites are the little lavender or lemon tea cakes!

CHEESEDANISHHEAVEN. One of the best ive ever had, not overly sweet and flaky. So so good. Our Daily bread comes to all the Farmers Markets in the Catskills region and i cant believe i didnt know about them before. They make great gluten-free and regular breads in so many varieties and their pasteries are all to die for. If you’re ever in woodstock on a wednesday stick around for the farmers market at 3 because they have all the best stuff and you’ll also get to sample so many yummy things from all the vendors. You might discover something new like i did!

I was contacted by the owner concerning my review of the GF bagels as «dry bread rings». He acknowledged he was working on them and communicated with me over the course of several months. The end product is vastly improved but there is still no chewiness that I think is the hallmark of a bagel. This might not be possible without gluten. I know that GF baking generally requires an increased use of fat to avoid sandpaper cardboard so maybe that is part. Maybe GF bagels can’t be boiled? I don’t know I have admittedly never taken a stab at them I am giving them the bump up in star rating because they are trying to improve this particular product and so far the improvements have been a noticeably better product. And those cookies were serious amazing. Thank you for your continued efforts. Cheers!

Best gluten free bread I have ever tried! First time buyer, last week at the Union Square greenmarket. I am officially in love and will make the trip from Brooklyn, especially for this bread, on a regular basis.

Their bread is a godsend. I’m officially addicted and pick up a loaf every Friday at the Union Square Greenmarket. For $ 4 – 5 a loaf(and one that freezes beautifully), can’t say much better. I’ve tried the sunflower, challah, and rye loaves. They are all amazing and toast up great. At this point, my go-to activity once I’m done at the market is to rush home, slice off the end of a loaf, toast it, slap some butter on and maybe a little dried basil. Death by carb heaven.

Just discovered the GF bakery at Our Daily Bread a few miles from my new home, and brought home a loaf of bread. I’ve eaten a lot of gluten free bread in my day and I have to say this is the best, most normal I’ve ever had. Seriously perfect and highly recommended — at only $ 5 per load, I’m not sure I’ll ever buy anything else since I can freeze it and thaw as needed. I also took home two peanut butter frosted chocolate cupcakes that were just divine. The café itself is lovely, rustic, airy and spacious, and the outside seating looked nice for the next time I visit.

Chatham was recommended for a stop on the way up to Lake George. I choose Our Daily Bread Café for no special reason. Had a blueberry muffin that was fantastic. Also had a egg sandwich on sour dough. Bread was great but it seemed they don’t add milk to their eggs. Eh. Bought some gluten free macaroons and cookies that were great. Chatham is my new stop on my once a year ride up to Americade bike week.

This place is very welcoming. They use and sell a lot of local products. The burger was pretty good, especially with bacon and cheddar. The Israeli couscous, with feta cheese and sundried tomatoes, was delicious. Both the older gentleman behind the cash register and the young lady who seated and served us were pleasant. The café has a really comfy atmosphere.

ODB has the best gluten-free bread and cookies I’ve eaten(the ginger cookies were delicious). And I’ve tried plenty in the San Francisco Bay Area. If I could get their bread flown out to the West Coast, I would!

Don’t see Chatham and be afraid, New Yorkers! A lot of these delicious baked goods are available in Manhattan Greenmarkets, such as the one at Union Square. While I can’t tell you about the whole flour baked goods, I can tell you that these wonderful people have developed a second bakery, called ODBeFree, which makes some of the BEST gluten-free baked goods I’ve ever tried. Especially the molasses cookies, chocolate chip cookies, irish soda bread, and multi-seeded sandwich bread I’ve tasted since avoiding those nasty glutens. If anyone ever makes a trip up to Chatham, the gluten-free pastry menu looks gorgeous, with cheesecakes, turtles, and chocolate covered almond sponge cakes. Oh, happiness.

Our Daily Bread is a staple at the Troy farmer’s market, where I usually buy their products, but I have been to the store in Chatham once. Here’s what got me hooked: scones. Their scones are the perfect example of what a scone should be. If you only try one thing from this bakery, get a scone, doesn’t matter what flavor — they are all amazing. The perfect texture, firm on the outside, soft on the inside, sweet, but not too sweet. You won’t regret it. Their breads are all awesome too. I can’t think of anything I’ve gotten from them that I was disappointed with. Tip: When I was in their store(a year or so ago), they were cash only. I don’t know if that’s changed, but bring cash!
