My favorite restaurant at the Corner. I go there every week. I love the shredded pork noodles, shrimp and tofu rice bowl, and pork rice bowl. Beef wrap, pork buns, and spicy chicken are great small dishes as well. Nice environment, and short time to wait for food. Many of my Chinese friends love going there too.

The chicken rice bowl had super slimy chicken, diced tomatoes, and rice. That’s it. The beef noodle bowl had beef(that was tender and tasty) and noodles that I’m pretty sure were freeze dried fettucini noodles. Would not return.

Went with high hopes, disappointed. Was advised there was authentic Chinese food, which it was, but it wasn’t great. We got the rib noodles, beef noodle soup, and the chicken noodle bowl. Chicken noodle has no soup and my friend found plastic in her food, which made her lose her appetite. Plus, the cold noodle bowl had cold vegetables and warm ish noodles, which made it unappetizing to begin with. The beef noodle soup was good in terms of soup flavor, but the beef was way too salty. They are also prone to leaving all the spices on the bottom of the bowl and don’t warn you, so you go through the entire bowl wondering where the spice is… and get a great kick in the gut towards the end.

The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. Came here for the noodle bowl and highly touted Ramen. It was absolutely the worst Ramen i have ever had. So bad i returned it after two bites. Dull, no flavor at all, pork was tasteless, noodles horrible. $ 9.50 is $ 10 too much for this food. $ 3PBR best thing i had

Don’t know why it’s only 3.5 score. Maybe some ppl don’t like it. But I am from China and this is the first time I found some real modern chinese food in the U.S. after 6 years. If you have been to china you will understand this is the food people eat there nowadays. Not Americanized mostly! I am on diet but whenever I get a chance to take a break and eat I come here.

Great food, great service, reasonable prices and perfect location. There is a parking garage right across the street which was convenient for us since it was a rainy night and we didn’t feel like hunting for parking. Shredded beef bowl, large portion rice, with some tomatoes and cabbage. Relatively simple and we asked to add some hot sauce on the side. Beef noodle soup was tasty, large portion of noodles with some beef. I wish there was a bit more veggies and a little less noodles but no complaints on flavor. Pork dumplings were simple but nothing amazing. I’d probably try a different appetizer next time. If you like dumplings you won’t be disappointed but they’re nothing out of the ordinary, we ate all of them. Best of all, this place is super reasonable in pricing. You will walk out full and happy. We will be back!

Called this restaurant to see if the«Veg Head» sandwich could be considered vegan. The woman who answered the phone huffed and puffed like it was the biggest inconvenience to check on this for us. Her response(in the most condescending tone you can imagine) «Well, its called the fucking Veg head, sooooooo.»…

I would title this unimpressed. My wife and I were excited by the concept and eager to try. We started with some fried dumplings which i think we’re stand because if they were fried, they were very lightly. Either way, a plus because we wanted steamed dumplubgs but the filling we wanted was fried. For dinner, she had the 105 Beef Noodle Soup which we saw we would not be disappointed. Meh. The beef was tender and it had good flavor but it was noodles, beef, and broth with a carrot thrown in for flair. I had the fuck sandwich which was very tasty with a side of garlic fries. Fries were decent but to call them«garlic“would be a stretch. Top that off with a John Mayer CD playing for the entire meal and average at best service equals an average review at best. I would be 50⁄50 on giving another try or eating somewhere else.

First, I took off 2 stars because there was a piece of dish cleaning brush hair in my friend’s ramen. Also I found Udon noodles in my ramen. My friend and I got pork bun for appetizer and miso ramen for our main meals. Pork bun had 2 pieces of pork and cucumber inside the bun and it was good. Miso ramen was tasty! The soup was delicious and the shrimp inside really made it a plus. I recommend this place but just look carefully for random things inside your food.

An absolutely lovely place! We ordered –beef noodle soup –Taiwan beef wrap –pork belly bun If you are also a fan of Asian fusion, especially Taiwanese food, this is the place to be in this town. Great food, awesome service and everything.

Disclaimer: Review based only on the ramen. As another reviewer said, this is not ramen. While the miso ramen I had recently at 105 Grill & Pub was not inherently bad as food(it was not offensive or completely flavorless), it was *not* ramen. They used standard spaghetti noodles in place of ramen noodles, which completely lack the texture and richness off proper ramen noodles. In addition, miso ramen should be cloudy with the addition of miso — like miso soup — and should actually taste of miso. This did not. They lose four stars from me for this. If they called it noodle soup inspired by ramen, I would be more likely to give them a pass. But as of this writing, I cannot recommend this place for anyone craving the satisfaction of real ramen — there are other, better options in Charlottesville.

*disclaimer this review is just on their pork belly Ramen. They also have a chicken, shrimp, and veggie ramen. In addition to a very extensive menu of Asian fusion and American food. Ramen has come to charlottesville and being done so freaking well. Ever since motopho came and went I have been looking for a place that has noodles everyday, not just on the weekends. I came as a recommendation from a friend who knew my love for noodles. I came for lunch on a quiet Thursday and I had the pork belly ramen, or as they call it the«Tonkotsu-men». It comes with pickled cucumber/onions, nori, scallions, cilantro, and an egg. It was pretty much fantastic. Also for those of you who are worried how filling it will be, let me reassure you as a former winner of back to back hot dog eating contests in undergrad, you will leave adequately full. To top it all off, the price is super reasonable at $ 7.50. Overall great ramen. I know they are trying to give a huge variety of dishes but really if they just did 8 – 10 ramen bowls they would make a killing. I will definitely be back for more.

Amazed by the quality of the food. They are tasty and very unique! The chef has definitely put a lot of thoughts in designing the menu. It is not just about filling up your empty stomach, but to enjoy the culinary art… at a reasonable price! I will recommend the salmon, pork belly, oysters and the strawberry short cake(as dessert)

The pork belly reminds me of home;) OOOSOGOOD. I like the idea of Japanese inspired American cuisine. I hope there will be sushi in the future though!

The restaurant is so delicate and classy! I have been staying at Charlottesville for four years. And I have been disappointed that there was no such a restaurant in the corner which is quiet and comfortable to stay in as well as provides tasty and healthy food. That’s why I was so glad to see such a descent new restaurant opening up in the corner where I could have a nice quiet lunch and hang out with my friends between classes. Besides, the food is definitely awesome, especially their cheese melt and pork belly sandwich. The cheese melt is so good that I had it for lunch for three consecutive days last week! If you have not yet tried it, you should definitely give it a shot! I noticed one of the reviewers mentioned about the restaurant’s ‘high’ prices. I have to say that I totally disagree. The sandwiches are big enough that they are even enough for two girls to share. Even not to share, I would say 8 bucks for a tasty sandwich is fair enough. Well, there is one drawback that I agree with: the restaurant needs to improve its efficiency. It indeed takes a lot of time to have the food ready. I love the food so I am willing to wait for 15 minutes for a nice sandwich, but other clients might not be happy with the wait. All in all, I love the place and I definitely recommend the restaurant to you all. I think I’m gonna have lunch and hang out at the place for the rest of my school year! lol

I recognize that it’s a new restaurant so it still has some kinks to work out, and that’s why my rating is a three instead of two, but there a few issues that were hard to ignore. Ultimately, I’d still return to give it another shot. Plusses: +Convenient location on The Corner +Revamped interior(compared to divey sushi place that was in original location) with comfy seating/booths +Very sweet owner greeted me and my friend when we dropped by for lunch: She encouraged us to come back when ramen and other Asian food will be added to the menu. +Server brought us free iced tea, courtesy of owner! Minuses: –Server had no idea what to suggest us to eat, or even how to describe the menu items. She had only tasted one dish(a cheese sandwich). As someone whose first job was working in a restaurant that I loved eating at, I was shocked she literally said she could not recommend anything to us and she didn’t seem very concerned about that. –Seemingly confused identity — It’s supposed to be Asian fusion, but the whole menu was pretty much American except for maybe the waygu beef in the burger? I realize the menu will change, but it will have to change drastically to live up to this label. Plus, large TVs and banners highlighting Happy Hour drinks as PBR make it seem like it’s also supposed to be a sports bar… yet with a hipster beer special. It all just seems a little contradictory to what they intend to be a more upscale Asian fusion restaurant. –I ordered the Blueberry Salad with Walnut Vin and Chicken. I liked the pairing of the strongly flavored gorgonzola and slightly sweet/tart blueberries with mixed greens. But the dressing seemed pretty flavorless and I would have preferred actual walnuts in the salad. Grilled chicken was hot, cooked through and a decent portion but was a bit dry and unseasoned. –I understand those long, rectangular plates make modern presentation, but it’s just not functional for a large lunch salad. It’s so much harder to mix up all the ingredients in that kind of plating — would be easier in a bowl.

This is a pretty classie place. Better than other places I tried around corner. More like travinia.(if you ever been there) the environment is also pretty nice. Though I’ve never tried the spirits yet, the food tastes really well! So far I like their pork belly, oyster, chicken breast!
