Nude Fude

This is not your tipical farm to table restaurant, it’s better. They partner with local fames to try to deliver local sustainable & organic cuisine at its best. The seasonal menu changes based on what’s good today. The knowledgeable staff offers information on every detail. Gluten free, they got it. Vegan they got it attention to detail is there strength. the taste is excellent I can’t get enough! Try it out. The offer items to go. Call in. Truthfully, I don’t *really* think the food is five stars, but for the price and Charlottesville, it’s close enough. The quality of the food is good. The prices, overall, are extremely reasonable. And I eat here enough that I’m not going to bite the hand that feeds. So that should tell you something.
The burger is definitely a standout, as is the chickpea cauliflower side. Their entrée salads are also quite good. The other entrees I’ve had have been consistently… fine? The steak kabob has a lot going for it, but every time I’ve gotten it, it’s been overdone and a little bland. I’d recommend amping up the flavor of the sauce, which despite having garlic in the description, is more like just yogurt imo. The chicken and dumplings were pretty good, although it really didn’t seem like enough to be an a serving. (And I feel like it may have had carrots in it? Maybe I’m making that up.
It’s not a place you need to eat before you die. But it’s a solid place to eat if you have an hour and you just want something good and consistent.

I travel a lot for work and it was so refreshing to find a place that was not only healthy, but delicious! The owner was super kind and you can tell that he loves what he does and that means as a customer, you’re getting the best! I will be back again and again!

Great place for a humanely raised burger and a local craft cider. Vegetarian options are great, lots of local foodstuffs. Super nice staff.

I was so excited to come here, and alas I will never come back. If you read my other reviews, you’ll see I hardly ever give a 1 or even 2 star rating, but it was that bad.
First, the food was bland. All of it. I had shrimp bisque and it was like a thick roux with a little shrimp and spice. His kale salad was ok at best, and over dressed. My chicken and dumplings were also bland and gloopy, like the shrimp soup. Oh and my chicken had gristle on it… a lot … but it was all breast meat! No respectable chicken and dumplings should have only white meat. My husband had the blackened catfish and it was such a tiny portion and really just «okay.» The best thing we got was the side of cauliflower and chick peas for my son. The ice cream sandwich was also good, but it was so big it was hard to eat. (Sorry, but clearly I’m in a complaining mood because of it all). The root beer float had the tiniest scoop of ice cream… it’s a float people!
Second, the service was horrible. My husband and I were both servers, so we are sympathetic to the struggles facing servers, but this was a mess. We were here on a Friday night and they didn’t know where any of the food went. They have a horrible system for delivering food, so the servers were just standing at the back with food not knowing where to take it. Which brings us to the 40 minute wait to get our entrée. This is meant to be a quick service place, and that is absurd. Then when we did finally get out food, the servers kept coming to the table asking if we had ordered whatever they were holding in their hand. No, we didn’t. We have our mediocre food. Finally.
I wish I could say I’d come give it another try, but I can tell you now my other half will strongly object and it’s not that important to me.

We ate here Saturday night, it was packed,& a little on the loud side. Place was clean, food came fast.
Got the catfish, and it was moist, tender and just the right size. I like a restaurant that gets it, and knows we don’t need a giant slab of protein dominating our plates.
I was very happy to see a fast casual restaurant that doesn’t offer deep fried potatoes. Thank you!
I had the chickpea and cauliflower side dish– it was delicious but was way more chickpea than cauliflower.
Smoked taters were delish.
Hamburger was good, so was the kebob.
Can’t wait to go back and try the outdoor patio when the weather is decent. Did somebody say dogs are allowed?

I really like the food here. There is a good variety of items. Great value if you are single. We went with our whole family of four and it was pretty expensive.

It is very possible that I just ate the best BLT I’ve ever eaten here. Looking forward to trying other items.

We were excited about a healthy brunch in Charlottesville.
The first clue to the contrary was the complimentary cornbread; cold, grainy and dipped in vegetable oil.
Eggs. How do you mess up eggs? They tasted like soap and had absolutely no seasoning.
Bacon: brittle, oily strips. Grits were chalky.
Service was fine, and the people were nice.

Really like the atmosphere here! Stopped by for lunch and had a very filling meal. I got the cuban sandwich with brussels sprouts and BF got the pot pie. I really enjoyed my sandwich but BF said he’s had better pot pie. Points for some beautiful presentation though. Also they have a rewards card here which is nice as we definitely plan to come back for the brunch on Sundays!

Just okay. Went Sunday for brunch and the food was not hot and the biscuits and gravy were bland and bacon was not crispy.

Why did we wait so long to try Nude Fude? Cheeseburger is a terrific value for the quality and portion. Smoked potatoes side dish were fought over at our table. The brussels sprouts were delicious (and I am a bit of a sprout snob!) The bread pudding was warm and homey without being sickly sweet. The only thing that paled in comparison where the mashed potatoes. They were very bland and tasted almost as if they had not had the rosemary added (as is in their name). We chalked it up to an oversight b/​c everything else was so good.
It was a pleasure to eat out in a very clean, very nicely decorated café style restaurant but still feel we were eating well. We were all full and satisfied without any sense of regret or bloat. The service was terrific. The two girls who worked the counter and monitored the dining area where very pleasant and knew their menu and product well. I asked a few questions due to food allergies and was very impressed with their response. It was also nice to see a range of clientele including many repeat customers, senior citizens, families with kids and a business dinner.

Well done, Nude Fude! Can’t wait to dine there again so we can further explore their menu, as well as their Sunday Brunch. (Note: sign on the door states they are no longer serving breakfast).

I stopped here after my dentist appointment for lunch and it was so good I can’t wait to return! It was hard to decide because the whole menu looked awesome, but I ended up getting the Pickled Egg Salad. This is not what you’d think it would be and that’s what made it so awesome. It was hard boiled egg slices on top of arugula with sweet pepper jelly open faced on a piece of some kind of super yummy bread. It came with a side which I chose potato salad (also good– it was whole small potato with some type of dressing on it). It also had a mystery mound of something which I think was definitely carrot, garlic and something else puréed, but whatever it was, that was good too lol. The inside was great and they do have patio seating as well. Can’t wait to go back!

This place gets 5 stars because there just isn’t anything negative about our meal there — even in a foodie town like C-​Ville.
Our meals were served quickly, and the whole experience was at our pace. The place itself has nice décor, and you can tell they like cleanliness.
The food was excellent! Seriously. I love their approach to sourcing their ingrediants, and even though we’re talking organic, local, etc, it still results in great tasting meals.
The prices and portion sizes were spot on — a lot better value for money than some other places further into town.
Definitely going here again!

My husband and I are constantly trying to find good, innovative food places here in Cville… we love pretty much everything on this menu. All fresh, all local, and delicious! Eating the peanut butter oatmeal bar with hot milk and fresh peach slices as I type this. Hubby had the spanish tortillas with salsa and local bacon/​sausage. Yum! Relaxing music and atmosphere. The staff is nothing less than extremely attentive to their guests and you’ll surely get the local VA hospitality and feel-​good food here :) A must-​try ~

Stopped in for brunch on Sunday at 11. Sat outside on their cute little patio with two other families.
My friend and I both ordered the pancakes with bacon and smoked potatoes and mimosas. The food was fantastic and fresh.
Service was excellent. Both the owner and the other girl there were curious, genuinely happy, and friendly.
Will definitely return to try some of their other offerings.

Ice cream sandwiches. Yeah, they have a menu, and it’s a little over-​priced. But it’s not lifestyle relevant.

Great start! First off, it’s the cutest little place. They did a very nice job with the interior and they even have a little patio for outdoor eating when the weather is nice.
I got the chicken kabob meal that comes with 2 sides. The sides were great!
The smoked potatoes were well flavored and well cooked.
The seasonal side salad was also quite delicious. It had grapefruit, some quality thickly sliced bacon, fresh mozz, and a honey balsamic like glaze. It was generously dressed but because it’s a light dressing I thought it was fine.
The kabob I thought was well flavored but a little too dry. And I thought it would come on a whole bed of romaine but it’s actually just two little pieces of romain. The romain was grilled and delicious though.
Overall, pretty good experience! I think maybe just slightly overpriced for the amount of food I got and the chicken could be improved by adding more romaine and not overcooking the chicken. All things considered, I’d recommend it. I’ll definitely be back with friends.

Not sure about this place… maybe too new and they just need to work things out. We expected the prices and even more but thought it would be more of an organic, seasonal, and local produce product served from the name.
Other customer next to us seemed displeased with their porkstrami sandwich. We were equally disappointed with our items.
I had a flat bread pizza. The cheese and pepperoni were good quality products. The bread was too chewy to eat almost and tomato sauce tasted like a diluted tomato paste. Sadly, my mother’s salad was dripping with dressing, hush puppies overcooked, and chicken salad nothing to run back in for.
We’ll let them work out the kinks and try again in another month or two. It’s an adorable and comfortable spot with attentive staff!
