This is the worst hotel experience that I have ever encountered. My issue with this place started at check in. I utilized price line to secure this reservation. I have never had a problem with my reservations through priceline, until I attempted to check-in here. They refused to give me a double bedroom that accommodate me and my two kids_even though it was available at the time! They claimed my priceline reservation was for a single handicap room. Outrageous since priceline policy has always been to discuss room options upon check-in. I found it disgusting that they would up charge someone at their most vulnerable time… Away from home traveling with kids. I was told that I would have to pay an additional $ 20 per night. Then they told me that if I did not want to check in priceline would refund my $ 1200.00, which was a lie. If i failed to check-in, I automatically forfeited my money to this awful place. Needless to say. I stayed on a one bed handicap room with two kids for 14 days. I had to buy two air mattresses on vacation. And if that wasn’t bad enough the place had a major bug issue. We woke up the next morning covered with bite marks on our arms, legs and hands. I showed management the bite marks and they offered to call an exterminator to have the room sprayed, which would have been okay, if i didn’t have respiratory issues. They refused to put us in another room. I could go on an and on about this horrible place. I would never recommend this place… Not even to an enemy!

The only reason it’s getting the two stars is strictly because of Jameca, the front desk clerk. There were problems with our reservations(not the hotels fault), and she did everything to try to accommodate us. She was helpful, friendly and very giving. The hotel wasn’t horrible only because of her. The rooms, well, they are ok to look at. The room we stayed in has a broken toilet paper dispenser and toilet seat was loose. There wasn’t a clock in our room. However, the room that my mom and oldest son stayed in did have one, so I guess it’s a hit or miss. Their room’s light was very dim. My son said there was a dripping sound that the A/C made all night long that made it hard to sleep. Their toilet didn’t want to flush. In both rooms, the pull out sofa mattresses weren’t very comfortable. Our youngest son put the mattress on the floor so he could sleep. My oldest son said it was«like sleeping on a bed of nails.» Let’s just say he didn’t sleep well. The smell of smoke is pretty strong, but I think that’s because the designated smoking area is around the pool which is on the first floor in the middle of the hotel. It’s a crazy place to have a smoking area is you ask me. The smell permeates the hallways. The room that my The«deluxe continental breakfast» offered make your own waffles… that was the highlight. Bagels, mini muffins, yogurt, and dried cereal. Oatmeal is the envelope kind but the hot water isn’t hot. They also offer twin mini jimmy dean sausage muffins that you can heat up in the microwave. Apple and orange juice along with regular and decaf coffee. It’s not the best breakfast but it’s not the worst. It certainly didn’t meet my expectations for a hotel that our vacation club offered to us. Let me just say again, how helpful, friendly and kind Jameca was!

Terrible place to stay at. Even though there are no smoking signs posted in the building people were smoking in the enclosed halls. The rooms were filthy, the refrigerator was disgusting, and the counters looked as if no one ever cleaned them. Woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful, only good thing about this nightmarish hotel. Don’t recommend this hotel at this location to anyone.

One star… Easy! Here is why: The toilet wouldn’t seal after flushing, so every time I used it, I had to open the top and push down the seal by hand to get the toilet to stop. The shower head had 4 settings, but only 1 worked, and even it was between settings so it wasn’t uniform. The heater /AC unit had no nobs and was stuck on high heat, I ended up having to unplug it because it got so hot. The TV remote died, so I had to call the front desk and switch remotes. My neighbors were very loud, and I ended up not falling asleep till about 1:30 a.m. because of it. The bed side lamp was dead The wallpaper was pealing in the shower. The gym was garbage… And finally, the electronic key s*** the bed to the outside door, so I had to walk the whole way around the building in the pouring rain to get back into the place one morning after a smoke. Will never stay here again, and I would not suggest anyone staying here… P. S. — if a manager is reading this, it’s room 111… Might wana look into those problems.

The good: Clean Free wi-fi Efficient checkin Large, separated rooms(suites, plus mine was a handicapped room) Convenient Pet-friendly Very dedicated and friendly night security guy The bad: Price($ 85) Not much on same road as hotel(or main road for that matter) Poor water pressure(resulting in poor quality shower) Only two towels Seemed like it could be unsafe in the parking lot overnight(park under a light at the front door) Breakfast offering was very weak, waffles and cold cereal only I’ve stayed here twice in the past 6 months, both times I was in late(checkin around 10:30) and in both cases I was greeted by the night security. He’s very friendly and helpful. It helped that we had OH plates as he’s from Dayton. The first time I had a broken foot. The security guy helped us to the room with our stuff. He remembered us the second time. Overall, this is good pet-friendly option as they put you in rooms that are not like many other pet-friendly hotels(the old-smoker room, with an ample supply of fleas and other assorted bugs). It is convenient to I-77 but only when traveling south, as a morning departure north would give you the Charlotte rush hour headache. If traveling on business, I’d avoid this place because the breakfast is so weak. The wi-fi would make it tempting though.
