I cannot recommend BookA Tailor in Charlotte. I bought a groupon thinking this was a great deal to treat myself to a custom suit and 2 shirts. I set an appointment. BookATailor is located in a key man type office in a Southpark area building behind Panera Bread on Fairview Road. I arrived at the set time and was kept waiting for the appointment for about 5 – 10 minutes. This was odd because it wasn’t like there was anyone who was scheduled and left just before me. The sales asscoiate, seemd slightly unpolished, but was pleasant. She did inform me that my groupon was for entry level fabrics only qnd there would be additional charges for upgraded fabrics. That was a dissapointment because I am somewhat familiar with custom clothiers and know what $ 1000 value would be. Thier entry level fabrics were no where close to that, more like fabirics you would find in an entry level price point at any department store. I did pay for the upgraded amount for the shirts. What appeared initially to be a deal, obviously was not. I was told the clothes would take 4 – 5 weeks to come back, but, in actuality, it took 8 weeks. The suit was totally botched and did not come back anywhere near close to my measurements. The BookATailor associate was not overly helpful and sent me to a local tailor to see if they could make alterations to give an appropraite fit. This took an additional half hour running back and forth to the local alterations shop. For custom tailor clothes, there are much better options in Charlotte than BookATailor. For the quality offered at BookATailor(in Charlotte, at least) it would have been better and much more convenient to have purchased an off the rack suit at a specialty store or department store that offers good quality. For sure, the customer service would have been better than what BookATailor offers, and the qulity of the clothes might be as well. If others have had a better expereince than me, I sure would be interested in knowing.
