So it has been made very clear to me that Club Trio Dance Club Event Venue and Bar are in the business of attacking there customers and taking no responsibility for their disrespectful bar tending staff(Female). Confused by this statement well allow me to explain. On Saturday, February 27, 2016, my sister, my good friend and I decided to attend this particular bar in the downtown area of Charleston, SC. Please understand that I am a mother of 3 that has not been out in more than 3 years and just wanted to take a night out to be an adult with my friends. The night was going great as we partied and danced near the 2nd floor bar most of the night ordering drinks an enjoying the atmosphere along with some casual flirting with the male bar tenders(2). Approaching the 1:00 hour I decided to order 1 more round of drinks for me and my friends. In doing so I spoke with a white female bartender and placed my order across the bar. She made the drinks and then gave me the total for the drinks of $ 24.00. In return I grabbed by clutch from the bar top and reached inside to provide her with the appropriate funds. In accident I gave her $ 23.00. In return she started yelling and calling me out of my name saying«IT’S $ 24.00BITCH, IT’S $ 24.00WHATTHEFUCKAREYOUTRINGTODO, IT’S $ 24.00» in my dismay I simply went in to my clutch once more an retrieved one single $ 1.00 and sat it on the counter instead of placing it in her hand, and started to pick up my drink. When I looked up from my drink she reached across the bar and grabbed a hand full of my hair and yanked. Unknown to her my sister was standing directly beside me and reached over to grab her in and attempt to make her release my hair. She eventually did so and the security came over and asked us to please go to the downstairs bar. When we got down stairs moments later another security came over and asked us to leave. Once outside I spoke with the 2 police officers outside and expressed to them that I wanted to press charges for assault. Needless to say the female officer that I spoke with was less than helpful in fact accusing me of pulling my own extensions and ripping my hair from my head. After a lot of back and forth she grudgingly said she would go in to speak with the female bar tender. Once she returned she was very dismissive in the situation and said«Well no one is going to jail tonight» asked me for my ID along with the ID of everyone in my party then gave me a card with a case number. I have spoken with the detective on the case along with the bar manager. The manager of the bar Eric blatantly lied to me telling me that there was no footage of the incident that took place on that night because all of their cameras are live feed and does not record. Then when I spoke with the detective he informed me that the female officer from that night said that she watched the video and she couldn’t see anything helpful. At this point I just want to bring light to this deplorable situation. So in closing if you are thinking of attending Club Trio you may want to party elsewhere because management nor staff have respect for their own paying customers and will lie to cover their own butts. SOSTAYAWAY, Aggressive, violent employee that will lie and are protected by the local police. This maybe the first time someone is speaking out but I can assure you this is not the first time this has happened. I say this because it seems that everyone I speak to just wants to sweep it under the rug. Also the club managers knows that the bar tender is in the wrong and attacked me because they don’t even want to press charges nor put a no trespassing order against me they informed the officer that I am welcomed back to the club anytime. Of course I will not give them the pleasure.

Ok this bar is very confusing. Me and my three girlfriends(all beautiful, eyebrows on fleek, nice smiles amazing figures) were visiting from Atlanta and wanted to explore the city, get a little drunk, and take things from there… FIRSTOFF you have to have a key to get in… how you supposed to get a key if you don’t live in the city. the door guy looked like shrek and was really rude. I told him I would twerk on his friend if they gave us a key. he said no. ANYWAYS, we ended up leaving empty handed… disappointed, despaired, and alone

My ladies and I stopped here during a bachelorette night out. We are from out of town and were never told we needed a key to enter, like some other folks mentioned. We had absolutely no problem getting in. The music here was good and we had a great time dancing the night away. The DJ even gave our bachelorette a shout-out. It was a good time, from what I remember anyways!

After reading some of the reviews from over the weekend, I am seeing we had the same issue as other out of towners– standing in a long line, just to be asked if we have a key. Then turned away with no explanation of said key. Never been asked for such a thing in Atlanta, NYC, Vegas… I guess this place is trying hard to be exclusive. What a joke. It looked totally dead through the windows. Don’t waste your time here.

Probably the worst bar/club I’ve ever been to. Well, been to is a stretch. My friends and I are out of towners and were turned away at the door after waiting in line for over a half hour. The bouncers said we did not have a key so we would not be let in. Flat out refusal to four attractive girls. Absolutely idiotic. Tell us this before we wait in line. We may not come from Southern money but our money is as good as anyone else’s. Never experienced anything like this in Vegas, Chicago, even London. If it doesn’t work there, it won’t work in Charleston.

I witnessed the bouncer physically abuse a female patron. This is the second time I have observed such behavior and from a second bouncer. This is unacceptable, regardless of how inebriated a customer might be.

I AMGIVINGTHISCLUB1MEASLYSTARBCTHATSALLITDESERVES!!! Just picture this: 4 out of towners, looking for a nice time. Smiling, gliding through the streets, taking pictures in front of Palm trees, crossing the streets with caution, giving each other wet willys We heard this place would be playing gucci mane and bobby shmurda, so we walked 388329 blocks to Trio. We were so excited !!! Finally, it was time to twerk!!! We waited in line for a little while(too long frfr). We got to the front and the door dudes demanded we have a «key» to enter. Huh??? A key? How the hell can I get my hands on this key if I’m from Atlanta? What The little door man told us we couldn’t come inside. We were all looking very nice. 3 blondes and 1 brunette, ranging from 5’3 to 5’6, very nice figures, very straight teeth, very friendly. NO! STILLCANTGETIN!!! So then we got rejected and left. The end

The music was awesome, however we came into Charleston for a celebration & went to this bar on recommendation. The music was the only quality factor at this bar. The bartenders & security begin to rudely push people out & all music/service stops at 1:30am. Go somewhere else!

I’m somewhere between a 3 and 4 stars on this place. Calhoun is the street of clubs and I will say trio is my favorite outta the ones I’ve been to. That being said, nothing happens downstairs. The party is upstairs and if you don’t have fun dancing, go to upper king bars instead. There’s a DJ on the weekends, young crowd just wanting to party and cheap drinks. The past time I did go, there were some older guys that just didn’t get the message that we didn’t want to dance with them. This is expected of any dance club so can’t downgrade trio because of that. Trio is a place to party!

Bouncers at the door were incredibly unprofessional. The police asked them to orderly deal with the crowd on the sidewalk and they failed to do their jobs. I was in town for a bachelorette party and it has taken over 30 minutes for them to even attend to us at the front of the line. In fact, I’m still in line and I’ve given up. Easily the worst experience I’ve had at bars since frat parties in college.

I cannot tell a lie. I had a blast at Trio a couple weeks ago. They hosted one of the after parties during Fashion Week. I was at every Fashion Week after party this year and aside for the official after party on Saturday, the one at Trio was my favorite. There was a good crowd, good music, and drinks were flowing. Sounds like a recipe for success and it absolutely was that night. Everyone was having a good time which really brought the energy up in the place. This is my second time in after the renovation. The first time was pretty lame and it was shortly after they opened. We ended up leaving after about twenty minutes as we were very unimpressed after all the«hype» of them re-opening. One good experience and one bad leaves me somewhere in the middle. I’ll report back later because they can only go up or down from here.

SECURITYCHOKEDOUTMYHUSBANDONTHESTREET! 1÷5÷2014 My husband surprised me for my 30th birthday with a party bus full of my favorite people. First stop was Trio. Wes, who greeted us, was super nice, and we were able to use the VIP table. The servers were super friendly, and we were having a great time for about an UNTIL. One of my friends stepped outside to smoke, and they would not let her back in. We all had wrist bands that they gave us to get back in, and they still would not let her back in. I sent my husband down to get her, and he and the bouncers had a few choice words and next thing you knew they pulled him out on the street(5 guys) and choked him until he passed out. My friend witnessed the whole thing. My husband NEVER laid hand on them, I’m sure they shared choice words back and forth, but there is no need for choking someone. He told them he needed air and he just choked him harder until he passed out. Then said«Get your ass against the wall your going to jail» Police were called, the«bouncers» tried to say he was trying to assault them with a beer bottle, when in fact, he was not drinking beer. My almost 40 year old husband, told the police the truth and he was let go. Sure there was drinking involved, that’s why we had a bus and all being responsible. Also, we are all over 30 adults– not 18 year old punks trying to cause trouble. WEAREOLD. However there was NO reason for choking someone in the middle of the street to the point of passing out. I’ve managed a bar before, including a security team, and thats not how its done. It not only ruined the nice evening my husband planned for my 30th, it physically hurt him. My husband was so afraid it ruined my birthday, I’m just glad he’s ok and not seriously hurt. Fortunately, between the 20 of us, we will never return, and all work for companies and events(who have even had parties at trio before) will never return.

Trio is one of the best nightclubs in Charleston. It’s huge. Downstairs you can enjoy the live band and grab a drink at the bar, or you can go upstairs and dance the night away. The second floor has a nice sized dance floor, DJ, stripper pole(yes, a stripper pole), and another large bar. Both floors have bathrooms. There is an outside area too for the smokers, I can’t comment on that area as I’ve never really been out there. Trio isn’t always booming with people. I’ve been there some nights when there wasn’t a lot of people and other nights when there was a line out of the door and the building was packed. I have no idea how to predict how many people will be there. I usually find my way upstairs, as I like to dance and the DJs are always great. 9 times out of 10 you will see some bachelorette party sitting in the little area with the stripper pole… so ladies, if you want to go here for your bachelorette party, assign one of your maids to stake out the pole for you(oh and bring some Clorox wipes… who knows who’s spun around that thing). If you want to go out with a group of people and have a loud, fun time dancing the night away… this is the place for you. If you want a more sophisticated evening out, try another place.

I first learned of this location through their conversion from their old POS system to the Digital Dining system we installed there. We spent time there when they were about to open, while they were open and once the last customer left. I personally feel this is the best night club in Charleston, as I no longer ‘club’, but being from NYC, have been to many. Additionally, working in the F&B industry, I have been to many night life spots, this reinforces my opinion. Bartenders are great-fast-professional and friendly(they always remember my drink, which I like. thanks Tom) It is a bit of a attack on the ears, once you step in to the club, but if you can scurry off to the bar, order and settle in, it is a better option than what happens to some people, that get stuck in the first few steps into the main room. If your looking for a club scene, this is the place to go to.

This is probably the best club in Charleston, but that doesn’t really mean much. They’ve got a live band downstairs, top 40/hip hop upstairs and an outside smoking/drinking area. It can be a fun place but the night we got bottle service, I realized the club was run by a bunch of amateurs. We were there celebrating multiple birthdays, so we got bottle service and our own private section. Our«security guard» for our area was a girl who ended up being the dj’s girlfriend. The girl ended up getting drunk, letting all her friends into our area, and almost got into a fight with other girls in my group. We also had to go back to the bar ourselves to refill on ice and mixers. I’m not trying to be snotty and act like i’m some mega club bottle poppin guy, but when you are ordering bottles, you expect a little better service. All in all, i’m sure this place is okay if you want to pay cover and hit on some college chicks, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for bottles or any type of

$ 8 to park, $ 5 dollars to get in p/p, $ 42 for 4 drinks(not including tip). I’m originally from Miami so this night was a bargain. Once you step in you are immediately attacked by the loud band. They did play some pretty hip songs, but what they lack in talent they make up in volume. So, we went upstairs. A DJ spins hip hop while the girls grind each other and the guys turn into wallflowers. Seriously, the ratio of guy to girl was nearly 10:1. The crowd ranged from young college kids to older(think mom & dad) I found that the music upstairs wasn’t as updated as the cover band downstairs. They have a cove with couches and a pole for girls to let out their inner stripper. It was ok at best.

Best Cover Band. Ever. They cover pop really well. I mean, Lady Gaga never sounded so good. THere is a realy great vibe, and everyone dances, so you don’t feel akward if you decide to get down. Booze is cheap compared to NYC, but probably moderate for Charleston. We ordered two rounds of shots for 6 people, and two mixed drinks for $ 50. If I ever return to Charleston, I know where to go!

The best place to dance in Charleston(that I’ve found so far)! The place is huge, making for great people-watching and mingling. Downstairs, there’s a live band(which has been great both times I’ve gone) playing anything/everything fun to dance to, from 50 Cent to Britney to the twist(yup — the oldie)… There’s a nice patio area for taking breaks from the craziness. Upstairs is another bar(or even 2?), and a DJ spins all the newest stuff. I think I remember pool tables up there, as well… Hazy night, but a really fun time!
