Life is a great college/hip atmosphere to be in. The drinks are served quick and better yet the prices are great! My friends and I always pregame here before going to the club. Drink specials are the cheapest on king street.

Was here late evening on a Thursday night and asked the bartender for a Makers Mark Manhattan. Which he did not know how to make. He looked it up on his iPhone and still used the wrong type of vermouth. For a place that looks like an upscale, hip place, the bartender is untrained.

Visiting from San Francisco and had a great time at Life– I can’t believe this place wasn’t more crowded! Good dance space, fantastic DJ(who was awesome about taking requests)! It is pretty small, so it will surely get packed when Charleston catches onto this spot, but for our large group it was a breeze to get in, and a great spot to spend the evening.

I went to Life a few nights ago after that evenings fashion week events. Most of the upper king bars were flooded with people from fashion week but I lucked out. Life had a door man regulating the crowd and as I walked up he said that there was just a line of about 15 people waiting to get in, but they had either left or were already let in. I had no wait at all and strolled right inside. A friend and I found a couple seats that just became open at the bar and sat down. The décor inside is very spaceship like and everything is white. I heard the bar was meant to be an after party spot for The Music Farm down the street. If that’s the case, they will be some small after parties. The place is a hallway with a small dance floor up front and some couches. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Drinks were priced as expected. Six bucks for a drink and four for a beer.
