The location is great, but you will have to lug your luggage up 3 flights of narrow stairs. Breakfast is frosted flakes in a fancy bowl with heavy silver spoon. The room wasn’t exactly clean. I would not stay there again.

What a treat to stay in a beautiful home in the heart of the historic district. Breakfast each morning usually includes fresh hot biscuits, fresh fruit, cereal, and coffee or tea. Marie knows how to serve delicious cantaloupe, they are always perfectly ripe and marvelous. Wonderful paintings and antiques throughout the home. This is one of the few B & Bs I could find in Charleston with 2 beds in a room. Hosts are very gracious and helpful. Location is very near the water and the business district. The free private parking is a real plus. The only caveat is the rooms are on the third floor.

I stayed at the Thomas Lamboll House for one night this weekend during my first trip to Charleston. The bed & breakfast is located in the middle of one of the nicest sections of the Charleston historic district. I was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience — the house is beautiful and clean, private parking was offered, the price was reasonable and the owners were extremely kind and hospitable.
