It is sad that a one-​star review is the lowest rating I can give this establishment. The cupcakes are good, really good. However, the employees and management have taken what should have been a sweet customer experience and turned it sour very quickly. I’m writing this article on behalf of my mother, who has been treated poorly by this establishment twice. Last Friday when she ordered cupcakes for a party, she asked a worker if she had any more in the back to buy (there were only 3 or 4 cupcakes in the case). She said no, this was all they had. A few minutes later another worker came out from the back with a whole tray of cupcakes and told her that there were, in fact, more in the back. Second, when father went to pick up another order days later, the same worker got nasty with him saying that My mother hadn’t paid for them. She had the receipt, showing she had paid in advance, and offered to fax it to her. All of a sudden she didn’t need it. My father, unaware my mother had paid for three dozen cupcakes, received only two dozen. When my mother found out, she asked to speak to the manager who was very rude and condescending, stating that this lying, nasty employee was a «good worker». Good at lying, rudeness, and cheating? Our future business will be taken elsewhere!

I love the fact that Sugar Pie Bakery only makes a certain amount of goodies each day. Sure it’s a bummer to see the case emptied out if you drop by too late, but I think it’s a fun thrill to try to beat the crowd. It also means it’s fresh! They also informed us that we can call ahead to have some put aside for you or just put in a custom order.
On to the goodies. Yep, I made the rookie mistake and dropped in near to closing time. By then, I didn’t have a lot of options to deal with– but they were still tasty. The cupcakes were moist & fluffy! Great rich, chocolate flavor– although I was not too fond of the frosting.
I can’t to try their macarons!
A bit pricey– but you don’t have a lot of options to deal with in this area. What can ya do?

Cheesecake was really good. The cupcakes were a little dry but the frosting was delicious. Much better than some of the bakeries in the area.

SPB has lost a customer. They botched my order then tried to defend their poor workmanship. Very unprofessional. Your money is better spent at Frutcake, they’ve been around longer and seem to have mastered the craft. These guys are rookies, and I’ll never set foot in their store again.

This place has ABSOLUTELY AMAZING cupcakes. They also bake cakes and cookies. I had the red velvet cupcake and it was a taste of heaven. Perfectly moist with a fluffy semisweet cream cheese frosting. Pair that with a cup of their caribou coffee — delicious!
