WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY! If you are currently using this company, then don’t expect to receive good customer service when you leave your rental and don’t expect most of your security deposit. We rented a house from them for 3 years and took great care of a house that had previously been rental for a long time. When we moved in on our initial lease (2 years), the yard had not been taken care of, the front door handle was broken, the master jetted tub was not working, the upstairs bathroom tub had holes in it and was leaking into the garage, toilet seats were damaged, a lot of wear and tear, and many other items were on the «repair list». It took months after moving in for anything to be repaired. Even then, we had to negotiate what we wanted repaired since all was not approved (they said from the owner of the house). I understand that owners don’t want to put a lot of money into repairs so we compromised. The jetted tub was repaired 3 or 4 months into the lease but we could barely use the upstairs bathroom due to the holes in that tub. At the signing of the renewal lease (our 3^rd year), we demanded certain repairs to happen and finally, we got the upstairs bathroom leak fixed and a few other items but still did not get everything we asked, including the front door handle. I’m sorry, but a new door handle cost less than $ 30 bucks — still was broken the day we moved out. When we moved in, we had Katie and she was great. She was honest and upfront about everything, so we trusted her and her words. Unfortunately, she left in the fall of 2014 and in December, we started dealing with Sharon. Literately, we went from a smiling person who even though couldn’t get a repair done she was nice about it to a cold slap of NO and no explanation. Our immediate experience with Sharon was extremely cold and she likes to hide behind her computer blasting emails or sending you a bill for something without even picking up the phone for a courtesy call to explain, etc. When you did call to ask about something, she was so rude that it was just easier to pay versus asking an explanation. At the end of our lease, was very disappointing. Again, I break it down to no customer service. LESSONS LEARNED — If you didn’t right down specifics of each nail hole from a prior tenant, light bulb out or something Katie agreed too, you are screwed because if it is not spelled out to a T, then you are paying for it to be repaired in a bulk price, not itemized. At the end of the day, it’s a shame to be a professional person and not receive professionalism back from Sharon nor the owner. We compromised a lot of our living situation around this company and/​or the owner of the house to not even receive any respect in return. We even went back days after we moved out to take the trash to the street so the owner would not be fined… guess with Sharon, doesn’t pay to be a good person. After we moved out, I spoke to the owner and he knows that Sharon is by the book and lacks customer service but yet, they are are not doing anything about it. You have been warned — worst rental company in Charleston! Call any realty company and they will give you amazing referrals to a company that respects you as a customer.

If I could give no stars I would. This has to be the worst property management company in Charleston. Beware and stay away! Sharon, the manager, is not people oriented and she was extremely rude when I first spoke with her after being a tenant for 2 ½ years in a house they manage. My husband and I have gone above and beyond to take great care of the house we have rented for 3 years and report any issues as soon as they occur. It takes weeks for anyone to fix any issues that occur at our rental property. We had a toilet seal blow out and it took 2 weeks to fix. A fire glass pane had broken overnight when the weather dropped in the 20’s. My husband and I both contacted Sharon to let her know in order to see how the owners would like the glass to be replaced and her response was that we were «negligent». This was very upsetting to be blamed for something that we were not responsible for breaking. If you want a responsible rental company that will take care of your rental property or even looking to rent, be sure it’s not this company!

Do not hire! «Managed» (a term I use loosely) my property for almost 4 years while I was out of state. Allowed over $ 10,000 worth of damages to be done by a tenant. Never checked the place until tenant moved out even though they were supposed to! Charged me lots of money for cleaning, filters, etc. but never did any of the work. My house is ruined and has left me in debt fixing it so my daughter and I can move back in to live. I have lots of pictures of before and after if anyone wants to see and the emails which state the property was in «excellent» condition written by Southern Premier. Yeah right! Please stay away from this awful mis-​management company!
