*This review is for the dessert service alone and not the restaurant I knew that we would be going with Jaclyn to make our desserts as soon as she sent us the menu. Everything sounded amazing and was so reasonable. We were looking to do a full dessert spread instead of a cake and Jaclyn really delivered. From banana cream tart bites to chocolate covered strawberries to strawberry shortcakes, everything was incredibly delicious. If I had to choose(and I don’t want to!) my favorite was the white chocolate raspberry chocolate cups. SOGOOD. Everything was that good. I highly recommend Jacyln and her desserts!

This place is awful. From the outdated and completely dirty and beat up atmosphere to the completely opposite of fresh tasting Italian food. We keep wondering how this place stays in business and hope a quality place moves in. West Ashely can do better.

A very low cost place to eat with above average food. The desserts are 4 – 5 stars. It is an unappreciated gem that should be given a chance if you are in the area.

In town with friends to run the Charleston Marathon and wanted Italian food for the night before the race. Food was pretty good but very very slow. Took 40 minutes for spaghetti and meatballs. Server forgot about us and never came back, finally got our check after about 30 minutes. Won’t come back.

The only thing remarkable about Michaelangelo’s Kitchen is how perfectly mediocre it is in all facets, from the«wine and beer list» to the breadsticks to the chicken parmesan. The wine list includes only a half dozen or so wines and FOUR beers. The breadsticks taste like they were purchased at Walmart a week ago, some shredded mozzarella was put on top of it and the whole thing thrown in the oven, lacking any resemblance of any seasoning or flavor. The chicken parm features overcooked chicken, soggy breading, and bland, soggy, tasteless pasta. The marinara was OK, but tasted no better than Ragu or Prego. At least the service was prompt and friendly, but that’s it.

In all fairness, I ordered takeout on a rainy night and that may have impacted my experience. I can say that they got to my house within 25 minutes so I can’t fault them on speed or service but that is actually the only positive thing I can say about my experience. I ordered 3 items that I thought should survive a delivery drive intact and that in my opinion should be a slam dunk for an Italian restaurant: caeser salad, calamari and a meatball sub sandwich. I decided to eat the calamari first so it would still be hot and it was hot. It was also weirdly crispy like potato chips. I have never experienced a similar texture when eating calamari — imagine breaded but super bland and kind of thick, squid flavored chips. Not appealing. I decided to try the caesar salad next. The salad was an enormous disappointment. Ridiculously limp, wilted romaine swimming in watery, flavorless dressing with no croutons or cheese. Given the first two items, I was skeptical about the sandwich. Although it had been less than 15 minutes since delivery, the entire bottom of the bun was soaked like it had been sitting in water. The cheese was cold and rubbery. The marinara sauce tasted like it came out of a can and sat on the stove for hours. The meatball was mealy and had absolutely no flavor. I ate less than one meatball, one fork full of salad and 3 pieces of calamari and the rest went into the garbage. I’m not proud of it but I’ve eaten Chef Boyardee cold, directly out of the can and that was a better dining experience than this one.

Great place to bring the kids, but stay away from anything you wouldn’t order from a traditional pizzeria. I’ve been there a couple of times and the Italian style parmigiana sandwiches are a safe bet. The pastas are watery and I’m not a fan. The fries are soggy too — get the pasta salad instead. The deserts are the main attraction, although the cakes are a little on the dry side. If you want a place to sit down and get food that’s better than fast food for fast food prices, then this is the place to go. I didn’t have a problem with the service — they were always friendly and attentive to my family.

im not a big italian fan — but this quaint italian café was pretty good. i had the special — linguine with shrimp and capiola with a light cream and pesto sauce. the noodles were cooked al diente — the shrimp was probably local and fresh, and the capiola was a spicy kick to the dish — all good. the service was pretty stinky, our waitress was a college chick and seemed more interested in and chatting with her college aged pizza cook than refill our drinks and ultimately bring our bill — i ve had better italian elsewhere — but the food was good here — service gets a 1 star, price gets a 1 star, but since the food was 4 — i give this joint an overall 3 stars.
