As a local Charlestonian, I’m ashamed to say this café is in my city. I’ve been here three times, only because it’s near my office. The service is deplorable and totally not representative of Charleston. Unfortunately, that’s what happens when corporations take over your city. They only have three, bland menu items. The egg white sandwich has no flavor. On my first visit I purchased a flavorless, lukewarm cup of tea. On my third and final visit I purchased a parfait(very similar to McDonalds, but larger). I was told these were made fresh. After ordering I stood there waiting for my freshly made parfait, only to have the manager asked what I needed. I told her I was waiting for a(freshly made) parfait. She pointed to the drink cooler where my «freshly made» parfait had been sitting for several hours. One final note, they purchase locally-made products for resale from local specialty food companies and undercut those companies on price. See their tiny little gift display across from the register. Do yourself a favor, walk a few more blocks to market where you can get fresh local coffee and pastries at locally owned Kaminsky’s or Black Tap Coffee. Don’t waste time and money at Maison Café. Hopefully it will go out of business soon.

If you want an overpriced, terrible iced coffee that takes 10 minutes to make, this is the place for you. I can’t speak to the food, but my iced coffee(which was made on a legit espresso machine), was so weak that you could see through it.
