Awesome sandwiches for lunch. Had a grilled cheese with bacon, grilled onions, and BBQ sauce on cornbread. Was a huge sandwich and I finished every bite. Nice to take on the road if you are in a hurry.

This is one of those places that I would never have thought to go into without a Unilocal review. But… this place had solid reviews and I had a for them. I decided to try the Downtown, added an egg, and did it on wheat bread, as I’m not a fan of sourdough. It was really good… this is easy comfort food at it’s finest. It was sweet, hot and melty goodness. The hubs got the Low Country which I actually liked better because it wasn’t as sweet. This place lets you make changes and build your own based on what you like. The workers were nice and super laid back. I decided to try the fries after reading a few of the recommendations. They are good and they come out fresh and hot. Worth a try if you love fries!

I dream about the Lowcountry! Has all of my favorite things smushed in to one sandwich. We have been going there for a few years and have yet to find a bad thing to say! Big fan!

Cory’s is right near my office, so I’m there at least once per month. My favorite sandwich is the Cory’s Famous: cinnamon raisin bread filled with muenster cheese, bacon, and honey dijon. Sounds weird but an amazing combination! Their summer slaw is the perfect side, too. The only reason Cory’s doesn’t get 5 stars is because on a couple of occasions(around noon), I’ve sat and waited for sandwiches for upwards of 45 minutes.

Incredibly kind people, super good food, exciting and unique combinations of flavor, and more than grill cheese! Live music too some nights – coreys is the place! And not just a food truck haha! Go hang out!

Absolute grilled cheese Nirvana! The bread, cheese and toppings are all top-notch. If you like sweet and salty together like I do try the Cory’s Famous – raisin bread, Munster, bacon and honey mustard. Wow. The french toast stuffed with goat cheese and fruit was great for brunch, and the cheese grits were delicious too. I’m definitely going to try the burger next. It’s a huge hand-formed party cooked on the flat-top grill. And it’s only $ 4.95! The folks at the table next to us were having them and said they are the best in town. This is a laid back, bare bones diner type of place with comfort food that will blow your mind. Love love love it!

Gluten-Free Review +Gluten Free Bread +Confirmed with manager they use a clean part of grill for only gluten-free preparation. Gentlemen at a bar told me if I loved sandwiches there was a place that served grilled cheese sandwiches and many different varieties. Now I’ve heard of Tom+Chee and what not but being within 5 miles of this place I had to go. Took about 10 minutes from downtown Charleston and arrived in the back of a shopping center to an empty Cory’s Grilled Cheese… why was it empty I have NOCLUE!?! However I proceeded after having a couple cocktails downtown to get carried away and order 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with avocado, bacon, mayo, magical dust, fried egg and two grilled cheese burgers(to-go) all served on Udi’s gluten free toast. This is close to Heaven as you get for a gluten free fat kid let me tell you. The manager sat down and talked with us, discussed how they prep for gluten free and how well they are usually doing. If you are hungry, had a few drinks, or love grilled cheese get over there now and visit Cory’s. It is seriously NOMBOMBOMNOMNBOMBNOM

WOW !!! What a hamburger. Best burger in years. Also affordable at 4.95. The patty was hand made close to ½: pound and juicy. The french fries are hood too. Real nice people and quiet atmosphere. We hit the jackpot and found it by accident. It’s way back in the corner of the shopping plaza so keep looking.

Cory’s has mastered the art of the Grilled Cheese, covering the spectrum of simple comfort to gourmet combinations. Whether you enjoy a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on white bread or The Downtown(Brie, Chevre, Fig, Apples, and onions), you are guaranteed a deliciously-buttered, perfectly-toasted, masterfully-crafted, high-quality sandwich that comes together in the most satisfying harmony of flavors. In short, in a city with many tasty options, Cory’s excellence is enough to make you visit two days in a row.

The BEST hashbrowns ever! Never had a bad meal here & it is very inexpensive as well. Corey himself is often at the grill and makes sure your order is perfect. Everyone is friendly and the food comes out quickly. I have an AirBnB rental nearby and always send my guests here.

The hours listed here are wrong. Coreys is not open at 7am, they open at 9am. As for the food, it was really great. I had one of their signature burgers, wife had the breakfast special sandwich. Both were great, burger was cooked to perfection.

First off they are local and i love the food truck. I can agree that the french fries are amazing and so is there burgers. Plus you cant go wrong with their Philly cheese steak. All that aside the place really needs a good cleaning. Wife and i went about 5 oclock and we tried out three tables before we found one that wasnt sticky and the chairs were clean. Went to the restroom to wash up and oh my goodness does that need a cleaning! It is a joint restroom so I dont know how the ladies use it. Yes the food was really good and the folks there were very nice but i have to eat somewhere that is clean.

I don’t find myself on this end of town too often so when I was in West Ashley over the weekend, I made it a point to check out Cory’s while I was there. FYI — even though the parking lot is an absolute shit-show, all of the businesses including Cory’s is still open. There are so many choices of grilled cheese options on the menu, but I decided to combine a couple ingredients to make my own dream team sandwich. Philly steak, American cheese, onions, and mushrooms on sourdough bread. This is no tomato-soup-dipping sliver of a sandwich, it’s on two huge pieces of sourdough and packed with toppings. It was basically a marriage of a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich prepared just the way I like it, married to a grilled cheese… not that there’s anything wrong with that. The result is a crunchy, steaky, cheesy, mess and it’s absolutely delicious. Oh and the fries… they’re also fantastic. Fresh cut steak fries that are a little overcooked… in a good way. There’s not a ton of sides, but who needs ‘em with fries like this. Definitely looking forward to trying some other menu items. Everyone in my group loved their sandwiches so I’ll be back for sure.

The food was ok… once I received my correct order. The place itself is gross inside. It’s much better to seek out the food truck and get your hot-and-ready sandwich there instead of waiting around for 45+ minutes, dealing with rude staff and receiving the incorrect order. Other than that, the food was ok, but I won’t be back. Suggestions for Cory’s: — Be a little more respectful of your customers, especially when you’ve made a mistake — Train the chick who’s taking order to, you know, actually understand what’s on the menu(right in front of her) — Clean up the joint. It’s a pig sty in there.

Had a great dinner at Cory’s grilled cheese last week. It was awesome. I created my own option because I wanted a sandwich that made me feel like I was 12 again, and that’s exactly what I got: american and cheddar on white bread. Simple. Perfect. My boyfriend ordered the burger and we were both shocked at how delicious it was. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Who knew? Now that I do, you can bet I’ll be back. My only complaint: Please, for the love of God, get rid of that clown statue. Still having nightmares.

Here’s a scenario: You and I meet, we talk about our interests, you tell me you don’t like cheese. Like, you just think it’s gross. Right away I stop you and say, «I’m sorry, I thought we had more to talk about,» and I walk away because frankly, I don’t trust you. I was skeptical about this place not for any real reason other than I didn’t want to have my hopes built up to be let down. It’s grilled cheese, it is the messiah of comfort food. So yeah getting to the point, Cory’s grilled cheese delivered an amazingly delicious experience. I ordered the Lowcountry, complete with cheeses, avocado, bacon and pimiento cheese — and I now know what I will be requesting on my death bed. It was reasonably priced for a sandwich I think, and the side of fries not a huge splurge either. Cory’s is worthy of the good reviews, the calories I spent on them, and all the hype. *btw, bacon is also on my «if you don’t like this I don’t trust you» list.

Very eclectic offering of items. Pick an established combination or create your own concoction. This is your local drop in for fast, reliable comfort food. Hand cut regular or sweet potato fries are a great side for your grilled cheese. Many breakfast options are also available, as well as dessert sandwich options(Nutella).

Very, very disappointed. Cory’s was recommended to me by a friend, because they have gluten free bread. There were 4 of us, 2 with a gluten allergy. We arrived at 12:45. There were 4 people in front of us in line and two guys working. We waited in line for about 10 minutes, and were then told that they had no gluten free today.(Except two end pieces) I said we would take them to go with a hotdog and to make a ½ grilled cheese. After an hour, we finally got most of our food. However, the employee said he burned the bread for the ½ grilled Cheese. In addition, they put the wrong cheese on one of our grilled cheese.(Swiss instead of mozzarella!) We did not leave Cory’s until after 2, and ¾ of us left hungry! Very great concept, but yesterday was a bad day. Many customers left unhappy after waiting for so long for their food.(That may have been made incorrectly) Recommendation for Cory’s: 1) Be sure to have all ingredients on hand, especially something like gluten free bread! 2) Have more employees or provide better training!(Maybe it was a bad day, so I’ll try again!)

Disappointed. If I lived in Chucktown, I’d be willing to give them another try. I found this spot during my search for food trucks and was excited that there was a permanent location for Cory’s(I loved the story behind the concept). When we arrived the two employees were sitting out front, but one promptly returned inside as we approached. We ordered 4 sandwiches — To-Go(I thought it would be perfect beach food — as we were headed to Folly). The Low-Country The Downtown(add fried egg) Grilled PB&J(peach jelly) Oliver’s Fluffer Nutter He asked if we wanted drinks two separate times«Did you want a drink with that?» Yes and Yes. Our total came to ~$ 28 with tax(I dropped $ 3 in the tip jar as well). Never got a receipt, but didn’t think it was a big deal. He thanked me, handed us our two cups, and began to prep our food. The other employee came in to help because another couple walked in. As we were filling up our 2 drinks the employee that was outside while we were ordering comes over with another cup and says«did u guys have 3 drinks?» No… «Oh, well he charged you for it, we can refund it if you don’t want it.» No that’s fine, we’ll take it. The little table that holds the plastic ware, straws, and lids looked pitiful… There was only one fork(fortunately I didn’t need one), along with food particles… yuck. There were only 2 lids that looked as though they’d been picked over(so we went lidless), the straws were individually wrapped(thank goodness)!!! It took around 10mins or so, before we left we went to the bathroom to wash our hands… there wasn’t any soap. The Low Country — my bf said it was great The Downtown — was different(which was what I was going for), but THEREWASNOFRIEDEGG and I can’t confirm I was charged for it because I didn’t get a receipt! Grilled PB&J, my son loved it. Fluffer Nutter — very rich and savory, I think it would be better eaten with a fork & knife. Both employees were very polite and friendly and they have an interesting menu, I just wish my first experience would have been better.

I remember going to Cory’s when he was just a food truck. His grilled cheeses are as perfect now as they were when I tried them a year ago. Now I can find them in one convenient location. Today, I had one of the weekly specials the Holy Grail which was sourdough, provolone, honey dijon, fried onions and a fried egg. My husband had the Monty which had sourdough, mozzarella, pesto, ham, tomato lettuce. Both accompanied with a perfectly crisp pickle. The flavors in both sandwiches married perfectly and really hit the spot. The specials are quite pricey at $ 6, but you really do pay for quality. Our sandwiches were so perfectly toasted, and golden brown, that every bite had the perfect crunch. One thing I didn’t realize is that they have punch reward cards. They really weren’t in a place where you could see them, and nobody informed me about them until I found them by accident. Also, prepare to smell like grilled cheese once you leave. I also wish the portions were a little bigger. Overall: Cory’s grilled cheese has good service, weekly specials, free wi-fi, and supports local artists. With such unique, and endless grilled cheese combinations Cory’s is the spot for the ultimate comfort food.
