Highly recommended B&B. We have stayed with Donn and Marie in their historic home three times over the past 6 years or so. It’s always been a wonderful experience. The rooms are formal and pretty without being stuffy. This time we stayed in the Copper Beech suite to celebrate Dave’s milestone birthday and enjoyed the king-size bed, giant jacuzzi, and breakfast on the private screen porch. Donn is an amazing cook and he whipped up some delicious gluten free bundt pecan spice cakes for us.

This is a FANTASTIC place to stay. The hosts are awesome. Great breakfast every morning and our room was very roomy and comfortable. Mary is a doll. There is also a lot to do in the area. We will be going back soon I hope!

My husband and I had an excellent wedding anniversary weekend in this lovely B&B. The owners were friendly, accommodating, and the house was beautifully appointed. It is also in a great location near Harpers Ferry and much of Virginia’s wine country. I recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away!

BF and I just got back from The Carriage Inn, and we’re planning our return trip. This was our first time @ a B&B, and just like Marie, one of the innkeepers said, we’ll be addicted to them from now on. I think she’s right. Our first interaction with Marie was by phone when we called Sat afternoon to let her and Donn know we were going to be later than expected, and it was like we were already old friends. From the moment we walked into the inn, we felt welcomed and that we had entered a very special place. Marie showed us around, shared the wonderful history of the inn and then welcomed us to some delicious apple crisp Donn had made. Although the six rooms were all occupied, we felt we had privacy and we were amazed at how quiet it was. We stayed in the Mary Rutherford room, which was beautiful, but I don’t doubt that all the other rooms were as well. The 2nd floor landing had a fridge stocked with soft drinks, glasses(including wine glasses), and water. This morning’s breakfast(yogurt, sausage quiche, and pumpkin muffin) was so yummy and provided us a terrific way to begin our return visit to Harpers Ferry after we enjoyed more coffee and the view from the porch swing for a little bit. We can’t wait to stay in one of the jacuzzi suites on our next visit to the inn and especially, to Donn and Marie.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Carriage Inn in Charles Town for a night and had a great experience. Even though there are several rooms in the house, I felt that there was plenty of privacy and did not see other guests. The breakfast was amazing and the home owners are really nice. We learned the history of the home and enjoyed a night at the Charles Town races, an easy walking distance from the inn. I would definitely want to stay there again!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway for two. This was the first B&B we have ever stayed in and this was truly a wonderful experience! The owners were very friendly but professional and made us feel right at home. The house was beautiful and full of history. Our room was very elegantly decorated and clean — but still very homey and comfortable. The hot tub was a nice touch. We even had a small porch where we were able to have a delicious breakfast that consisted of a wonderful quiche, fresh fruit and yogurt in a wine glass, juice, coffee and the works. The food was great. This place is also located near several attractions, including the Charles Town Races and Harper’s Ferry. We highly recommend The Carriage Inn to anyone wanting a romantic getaway. We hope to get back there soon!

My wife, her parents, and I stayed here in the fall of 2010 and had an excellent experience. The Inn itself is rich in history, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The innkeepers are knowledgeable about the history of the home and surrounding area, are very friendly and accommodating, and are excellent cooks. We hope to be back, and I highly recommend the Carriage Inn to others traveling to this area.
