Yummy !!! Just had lunch, ordered the 3 roll combo. Very fresh tuna & freshest avocado I’ve ever had. The eel was awesome. The Miso soup was perfect.

Waka is a sushi, sashimi, Chinese food lover’s dream. Fresh ingredients, prepared and presented tastefully. Hospitable environment of attentive, pleasant service. At least a weekly indulgence.

If I could give negative stars, I would. We tried this place when we moved to the area a few months ago and it was mediocre, at best. Then we gave them a second try about a month later with mixed results. The rice was good, but the rest of it wasn’t very good. The salmon tasted good but the texture was horrible and it was more dry than my leather shoe would be if I was to slather teriyaki sauce all over it. We gave them a third, and final, try tonight. Horrible. We ordered very simple items. Two chicken teriyaki entrees, spicy salmon rolls, pot stickers, and a soup. The white rice was a bit bland, but what can I really expect? So I put some soy sauce on it. Then I bit into the most rubbery, hard, gritty piece of chicken I’ve ever bit into. It was, with no exaggeration here, the absolute worst piece of chicken I’ve ever laid eyes on, let alone put in my mouth and tried to consume. Ok. Fine. Maybe that one piece, or that part of the chicken breast they used was fatty or something. I tried a piece from the middle, same result. Tried a piece from the other end, same result. My wife’s same exact entrée had similar texture and taste issues. It was extremely bland and the chicken was rubbery. The salmon rolls were decent, but a little suspect. I find myself a couple hours later with a bit of a stomach ache. That could be my subconscious being dramatic though. The pot stickers were horrible and flabby. The vinegar-soy sauce they give you with them basically tasted like pure vinegar with a few drops of soy sauce for color. We filed a complaint with Grubhub asking for a complete refund, as we were overall just totally turned off and threw out about 75% of the meal(we ate some veggies, rice, and salmon rolls). Grubhub reached out to the restaurant and the restaurant told them they refuse to give a full refund. Hm… weird, right? Why do you refuse a full refund? Well, the restaurant said that they«believe the other items were edible and we do not think we should give a full refund.» Stop the presses! Hold the train! Does that translate that they KNEW the chicken was bad and still delivered it to a customer? How would they know that the other items were good? What if we just didn’t like their style of cooking, or the chef on duty was horrible, etc? How, over the phone, could they know that the entrees weren’t good but the other items were, unless they willingly served bad chicken? Needless to say, if you’ve read this far, I highly recommend going elsewhere. There are a ton of fusion places within a 5-mile radius of this area. Do yourself a favor and write Waka off before you even try.

First off, excellent service, staff was always friendly. Quality of food was fantastic, freshly made, you could tell the ingredients were freshly prepared and procured. To make things even better we didn’t have to wait long at all after we ordered, overall a very pleasant dining experience

Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday recently. Great service, friendly staff, and even greater food. I recommend trying the edamame. Good atmosphere and some of the best sushi in the neighborhood.

Waka roll is my favorite here. They do a lot of rice paper rice-less sushi rolls here. It’s almost like a Vietnamese summer roll with its rice paper wrap but inside is raw fish and veggies. That’s like two of my favorite things combined into one. Fish is also fresh and not icy like you find it at some other sushi places. You could also tell that they put effort in their presentation. Outside of the food, everything else was on point. Good service with lots of smiles. The staff are attentive and quick. They also have high ceilings here which makes things feel lively and open unlike other sushi places. I actually eat around this neighborhood often and this place is my go to Japanese place. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for sushi. They also have sake deals for when you want to have that alcohol fix.

An evening here was one of my greatest restaurant experiences! Firstly starting the evening in the very nice, modern Asian-decorated lounge with drinks right through the expertly made and presented meals. The food was all fresh, the sushi itself looked like it was prepared in the morning and nothing looked sub-par in the restaurant. One thing that immediately made an impression on me was the friendliness of the staff. Often, the staff would normally just try to get the job done and usher in the waiting customers but it was not the case here. All of the waiters and waitresses were extremely delightful and made sure we had the best experience.

Some of the best high quality authentic asian food out there, the sushi is always fresh and the service is very attentive. Great place to hang for a gathering for an affordable price. The delivery is also on point and convenient since it is on grub hub. definitely a place to try out !

Worse service ever. I just moved in this town and already went to there two times and used one delivery. Right after moving, I went there with my kids for lunch. My second kid is 22 months old, but I couldn’t find his bibs from the unopened moving boxes… On the way to restroom, I saw a file of dinner napkin and thought it looked strong enough as his bib(usually he spills lots water…), So, I asked the server named ‘HUGH’ to give me JUSTONENAPKIN for my baby, and she refused… She said it is only for dinner, not for lunch. I explained her that he needed just ONE to cover his front, but she again refused and moved all dinner napkins in the hallway to inside. It was really unpleasant. WILLNOT use this place again. I am so upset… ‘HUGH’, I guess you have no child yet. You should know how you were unkind and rude to me and my baby.

I have eaten here once a week on average for the past 6 months. In that time I have learned the following: 1. Service– very friendly, not native English speakers but have no problem communicating. 2. Fish– fresh– on par with local competition. It isn’t Masa, but for Northern Westchester it is above average. Preparation– acceptable– we all know that the 25 types of fantasy rolls are an Americanized adaptation of what Japanese eat, and they come out fine. 3. Surprise– the noodle and stir fry dishes are excellent, and the wonton soup is better than anything I have had in Chinatown. Why– the owners and the staff are all Chinese. 4. Half price wine, sake, and beer…:) Every night it is half price for the aforementioned. How good is that? My only minor gripe is that Waka is noisy due to the fact that the ceilings are high and there is nothing in the room to dampen noise– ie carpets, curtains etc. But show me a sushi restaurant nearby that isn’t noisy and I will show you one that is closed.

one of my favorite sushi places and best in the area– hands down, and i’ve tried a lot. i recommend all their rolls, you wont be disappointed. salmon avocado and dragon roll are some of my favorites, the american dream roll is mouthwatering and melts in your mouth. their fish is very fresh you know as soon as you take the first bite, hence worth the price in my opinion– you can choose a cheap place and get lousy sushi that tastes as if it was left there for days, or come here and pay a little more knowing your sushi is going to be fresh. a very nice place to dine in whether for lunch or dinner and they usually offer promotions. i’ve been eating here for awhile and i don’t think their food has changed– in regards to the person that commented below, if only they have improved. the service is always great. even though some of the waitresses cannot speak english well it is overlooked by the fact that they are very attentive and friendly, more than i can say about other places. if youre in the area or you live here– this is the place for a delicious meal. yay waka!

OK so I’ve eaten here many many times, take out, delivery, sit down, and I’ve even tried takeout through grub hub! I’ve had their food so many times because I’ve been on the fence with Waka for a long time. Tonight has sealed my opinion of Waka. Food– generally pretty good. Sushi is ok, I used to be a big fan of their sushi because it WAS good! It has changed within the past year. I can’t quite pinpoint what has changed but something has changed. Maybe the quality of ingredients or new kitchen/sushi staff? I’m not sure. Service–(sitdown) whenever I go there its either a large table of college/highschool students talking obnoxiously loud or we are the only table. Also be prepared to get stared at by the staff. Its as if they have nothing better to do then stare at me while I’m eating? Common. (Take out) for god sakes hire someone who can speak English fluently. Its not that much to ask. I always have specific instructions with my takeout orders due to a food allergy. And its always so hard explaining this to them. It takes a good 5 mins of repeating myself for them to at least kind of understand what I’m saying. And even then its a 50⁄50 chance of them still not getting it right. My grub hub order had a very clear and simple instruction. Nope. As if it was ignored. Price– welcome to chappaqua. Need I say more? Has anyone else notice the change in their sushi?

Great sushi in the neighborhood. We ordered take out after a long day of shopping. The pepper tuna with avocado is fantastic. All the rolls had a perfect amount of fish and rice proportion with a fair portion. The spicy tuna and salmon are also on the top of my list. Also ordered edamame which actually came warm all the way even with a deliver — great surprise and a Kani salad which is a new sushi store favorite of mine and this one came with a great surprise of crispies on the top. The crab meat they use is great and actually tasted like crab unlike many other places. Delivery was quick and easy only took about 20 minutes since the store is conveniently located in the chappaqua area. They also gave just the right amount of soy sauce and sides of ginger and spicy wasabi chunks. I would definitely recommend this store for anyone looking for good sushi in the neighborhood.

We order from here at least once a week… best of the available options for Asian food in the area and quick delivery. Over-priced in my opinion.

Had my third inferior meal from Waka. Two takeout and one in the restaurant . The sushi was not up to par, not fresh and actually tasted funny. The cooked food likewise was disappointing. This used to be a good restaurant. I will not be going back for any reason.

The food was so-so to good, but this was offset by terrible service. The serving staff came across impatient, unhelpful and unfriendly. Not as a much as a single smile in all the time that we were there.

I had a great experience at waka. The staff was very pleasant and my food arrived quickly. I came in for lunch and the food was fantastic! I ordered a futo maki roll and a rice noodle soup. I was surprised at how well they prepared the futo maki roll because I have had bad versions many times. I highly recommend stopping in.
