Great fro yo. Air conditioned and cool on a hot summer day. Place is a little beat up but the smiling pleasant Carolina coeds working here compensate for that

Great local frozen yogurt place. Prices are very reasonable and flavors are great. I got the Oreo and thin mint swirl which tasted just like the cookies. A medium and a small cup were only $ 5 so a great after dinner or mid day snack.

A chapel hill must do frozen treat! Great that you can check the flavors beforehand online and make sure they are swirling flavors you like. Oreo and mango are two personal favorites. Better than most chain frozen yogurt stores, great toppings, and relatively cheap.

Best froyo place I have ever been to! I went at least 3x per week while in college and continue to go back every time I am passing through Chapel Hill.

The yogurt is tasty, but very selection of flavor and servings are poor value. Minimal toppings and dirty pumps are what I will remember about this experience.

Neat little place to get froyo on Franklin St. They only have about 8 unique flavors but they are very generous with the portions. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was packed so it must be really popular in the area!

Yopo! Fresh smells of cone! Homemade? Free water as you walk in: bonus! I love free water after ice cream.

The yogurt pump by far has been my favorite place on Franklin Street for years. Even after a huge dinner and feeling stuffed, I always have to force myself to have a second stomach just for dessert at yopo. They recently renovated the store and the atmosphere is great. The second you walk in the door you can smell the ice cream. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and will let you sample as many flavors as you like. I also like how they have a coming up next on deck board now, where they list the new flavors they will be serving in the upcoming weeks. My favorite flavor is the peanut butter. With frozen yogurt compared to ice cream, I never expect the frozen yogurt to taste as creamy and flavorful. However, yopo always proves me wrong. Their flavors really taste like the name, and the frozen yogurt is thick and tasty. Make sure to get toppings since you get to choose 3. They usually even put the toppings in the middle of the cup or or cone as well, so just when you think you ate all your sprinkles, there’s more half way through! The prices are probably one of the cheapest you’ll find now for frozen yogurt. The servings are big. I even get the kids cup often and am full. Tip: make sure to keep your receipts. When you have 10 you’ll get a free small ice cream cup/cone!

Not sure why the reviews are so high… the only good thing about this place is that it’s a little cheaper compared to other places like sweet frog or red mango. There aren’t that many flavors, and you can’t control how much you get or how many toppings to put on. I usually pile on the toppings but I received only a sprinkle of each that I requested. I got the coffee bean and cheesecake flavors — both were good but the flavors were more subtle so after a while I couldn’t taste anything anymore. Also, my friend got the same size as I did(small cup) and the person barely filled hers up to the top while mine was overflowing. We payed the same price though(~$ 3). The inside is pretty small and bare — only a few tables. I’ve personally had way better.

Best yogurt ever. The service and the yogurt are excellent. They have a myriad of flavors that rotates according to the movement of celestial bodies. All of the flavors are strong: chocolate tastes like chocolate, sea salt caramel tastes like sea salt caramel. At other yogurt places, their flavors taste the same: «cold flavor», or «soft ice.» Despite the crowds, people usually take their yo to go so it’s possible to find a table to sit and chat. The line can go out the door and often does, but it’s worth the 10 minute wait.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was sadly overall unimpressed with yopo. My favorite part of froyo is toppings, and here you are limited with your toppings with only 3! The fro yo itself was very creamy and tastes more like ice cream… which I’m sure is a plus for many. The cost was cheap. good amount. Just wish it were self serve with more toppings!!!

This seemed like the place to be. Don’t be fooled by the line going out the door and down the alley. They are very quick with their service; we were waiting as far back as in the alley and was ordering frozen yogurt with five minutes. There were plenty of toppings and the yogurt was great. If you have to choose between Ben and Jerry’s or yogurt pump… I would recommend yogurt pump.

Every time I go to Franklin St. I make it a priority to go to Yopo. Their frozen yogurt is light and not overly sweet, but the variety of flavors they have really shows off the versatility of the yogurt. The fruit flavors like strawberry and mango are great on a hot summer day, making Yopo a light and refreshing treat. Stronger flavors like espresso bean, dulce de leche, and Ghirardelli chocolate make it taste more creamy. The flavors are rotated every day so you have to check their website if you’re looking to for something in particular. They also have so many great mix ins from fresh fruit to nuts to sprinkles. There are really an endless amount of combinations you could make. I’ve been here many times and have never eaten the same thing twice. Overall, Yopo is a great refreshing place to get frozen yogurt for an amazingly cheap price compared to other ice cream shops. I always come here when visiting Chapel Hill; it’s simply too good to miss out on.

Yogurt Pump(or «Yo Po» as it’s commonly called) is a no frills frozen yogurt shop on Franklin Street. There are usually several different flavors on tap, ranging from your standard chocolate/vanilla to fruity ones like«Carolina Blueberry» or fancy ones like«Sea Salt Caramel.» The product is excellent, and its certainly a local favorite. Perhaps the best testament to this place is that it has been on Franklin Street since 1982. In addition to a quality product, there are two main upsides to this place: 1. Relatively cheap pricing(especially compared to fancy yogurt shops like sweetFrog) 2. Waffle cones made in the store rather than purchased(i.e. pseudo home-made)

I think Yopo is a great place to hang out, but it’s not my top choice for froyo. The options are pretty limited, and they are always changing up the flavors so even if you discover a delicious one that you like, it will most likely be gone within the next week. Unlike the flavors, there are a lot of topping options! The location is nice but it’s a very tiny store with limited seating inside so most people sit outdoors, which is fine when it’s warm outside but very inconvenient when the weather isn’t as nice.

I have been to YoPo so many times over the years while a student and after. It is a simple place which is probably why it is always great. I love that all of the«pairs» of flavors are available in swirl. They will let you taste the flavors to see what’s right for you and there are a ton of toppings. Even in the dead of winter, there will be a line out the door! Pro tip: bring cash. They have started accepting cards now, but there’s a fee. Also save your receipts! You get a free cup after you purchase 10!!! Enjoy!!!

I don’t care if it’s the middle of winter and I am shivering the second I step foot outside or if I’m so stuffed from already eating dinner out on Franklin Street, but I will never not be in the mood for YOPO. The yogurt pump beats out any other frozen yogurt store. Everyone has certainly experienced the recent craze for frozen yogurt, and tons of chain frozen yogurt shops have opened all over the place in the past few years. YOPO definitely wins for the best frozen yogurt I have ever tasted. The yogurt is so creamy that it practically tastes just like icecream, which is not typical of frozen yogurt. All of the flavors are delicious. If you are in the mood for a fruit/tart flavor, I would go with the blackberry or strawberry. Both are so refreshing. My favorite flavor is the peanut butter. It is so rich with peanut butter flavor that it feels like I am eating creamy icecream(it’s hard to believe it’s nonfat — that’s a plus right there!). The flavors change each day and the website is great because you can see the list of flavors for that day and pick out what you want before even stepping foot in the store! They also allow you to try as many flavors as you want, which is always ideal in choosing the best dessert. If you want toppings, there are tons to choose from and you can get a total of 3 toppings. YOPO is also the best at the topping placement in the yogurt. Everyone knows that sprinkles are the best part, and you always lick them off the icecream first. Well, YOPO will place some of the toppings in the middle of your cup or cone so that way when you think you’ve eaten all the toppings, there’s a surprise in the middle and more to go! Nothing is better than that! One of the top reasons YOPO also makes a 5 is the prices. Icecream is not cheap anymore, especially frozen yogurt. When you walk in to the chain frozen yogurt stores, you probably end up spending at least 5 dollars for just a small cup. At YOPO, you can get a large cup or waffle cone for under 3 dollars. Yes, I said under 3 dollars! You really cannot get frozen yogurt this cheap and this good anywhere else. If you are in Chapel Hill, please make your way to YOPO. You will not be disappointed with any flavor you choose to order! P. S. Don’t forget to save those receipts!!!(Every ten items you buy you get a free cone!)

This is my happy place! While I was in school at UNC, I went here countless times, so every time I’m back in Chapel Hill I HAVE to go. You can’t beat the portions or the price at any other frozen yogurt or ice cream place. There is always a good selection of flavors and a great assortment of toppings. This time I opted for Key Lime Tart and Sweet Coconut. I added graham cracker crumbs and chocolate chips as my toppings. PERFECT for a warm night and strolling down Franklin St. It is a popular spot, so it is common to see the line extend outside the store, but it moves quickly and is sooooo worth the wait. There are only a few tables to sit inside, so if you go with a larger group, you most likely will not get a table. The décor inside isn’t anything to get excited about, but the frozen yogurt makes up for it ten-fold. A couple more tips: 1. Although they now accept credit card, you are better off bringing cash because there is an extra charge for using a credit card. 2. Keep your receipts! Once you have 10, you can redeem them for a free small cup. Every UNC student should come here ATLEAST once! It is the perfect spot for a sweet and cheap study break.

Great place for dessert! It’s a really popular frozen yogurt place in Chapel Hill. It’s pretty cheap and service is quick. There are many choices for toppings, and maybe about 8 flavors. The flavors change often so I always check online before I go to see what they have!

I’m absolutely in love with this place. You know when you see college kids walking around Franklin St. with styrofoam cups of heavenly goodness that it’s Yo-Po time. The sizing and pricing are extremely satisfying — I mean, where else can you get a 12 ounce cup of quality frozen yogurt for less than $ 3? The cheesecake bites as far as toppings go are killer, especially when paired with the Oreo yogurt. Minimum charge on credit cards is $ 4, just a heads up! If your order is less than $ 4, it’s only a 20 cent charge if you use your card, so don’t worry if you don’t carry around any cash. Head on over to this local joint; I promise you won’t be disappointed.
