Was informed that this place is now called Red Pepper 46. Ordered delivery to my hotel when in town for work. I have to say for the price you get a MASSIVE amount of food and it is very well prepared. Would definitely order from here again!

35 Café is very much your standard American-Chinese restaurant. The owner is actually Chinese however, and will recommend some of his better dishes or more authentic Chinese dishes if you ask him, and that was why I gave this restaurant 4 stars, despite my typical dislike for dishes like Orange Chicken. I got the Pork Mein Fun, which is a type of thin chewy noodle stir-fried with meats or vegetables. It was recommended by the owner, and I really enjoyed the dish. My boyfriend got Sesame Chicken and commented on how big the portion was. If you’re ever stuck in the DMV line for too long and need lunch quickly, then this is a good and cheap choice.

Under new ownership. Used to be the best place for Cantonese food in Orange County when it was managed by the same people who operate the 35 Restaurant in Cary. Food is mediocre now. Today, the«singapore noodle» dish I ordered to go was a complete disappointment. Any other restaurant would have called if «beef rice noodle» because it had none of the flavor ingredients of singapore rice noodle. No curry flavor. No onion, scallion, mushroom or bean sprouts, just a few carrot slices. Not only did it NOT taste authentic, it didn’t even taste good. At least the premises were clean and the older man at the register very friendly. Don’t waste your time or your money

Vegetable lo mein is a treat, vegetables were cooked just right and as savory as the noodles. General tso’s chicken had a decent kick and was so crispy. I ate an order of crab rangoon myself haha but brought the rest of the main and side dishes home for my husband to eat dinner on the fly and it all saved pretty well. Two meals under $ 20! No complaints here. And it was delicious and hot. I will be back many times.

Depends on what day it is whether the food is good or not. Never have them deliver your food always pick it up yourself. They take forever.

We were long timers at the old 35 Chinese restaurant downtown. This isn’t and couldn’t be that, but there are some familiar things. The crab Rangoon, which I always loved at the old buffet, it still the same. I particularly enjoy the Kung Pao chicken — it’s an old standby, but 35 is not afraid to spice it up a bit and the vegetables are very fresh. Felt like the healthiest version of Kung Pao I’d had in a while. 35 is convenient, inexpensive and good food value. Our go to for takeout Chinese now. There are tables for 20 or so to dine in. It is an old Quizno’s shop. There are some hibachi Japanese offerings, I have not had but wife has tried and liked. We’ve eaten here several times now. For the value and convenience, 35 Café is very good. They do close at 8:30 an unusual time.

I usually don’t like Chinese food but my grandpa saw this place and wanted to give it a try. It was the best Chinese food I ever had. Not too salty. Fresh veggies that were cooked perfectly. Will be returning!

I was a bit wary of ordering from here because of the hit-or-miss experiences that others have reviewed about but I’m glad I ordered anyway. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken combo and the steamed pork dumpling appetizer for take-out. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly it was ready, the quality, and the portion sizes(9 dumplings!). My boyfriend loved the dumplings and the chicken had a gentle crunch, plenty of flavor, and some of the spicy kick that I have been missing so much since I moved south. As another reviewer mentioned, they also have nice take-out containers that make it easy to store the leftovers. I plan on making 35 café my new go-to for Chinese take-out/delivery. I only wish they were open later!

We used to really enjoy ordering from here but the last few times have been a real flop. One time we got all the food home and discovered the rice had not been included for any of the meals. By the time we drove back for it and got home, all the food was cold. The next time the meat in every dish was overcooked and not tender like it always used to be. Tonight we ordered and everything was super greasy as if it was not cooked at the right temperature. Instead of being crispy it was soggy – not anything like it used to be. Ended up throwing everything out except for the rice. Very sad as it used to be our«go to» Chinese place, but something has radically changed over the last couple months. Definitely try elsewhere.

This has always been my favorite place for inexpensive Chinese food in Chapel Hill. They used to have a great buffet but they moved and no longer have it :(. Now they’re like any other Chinese takeout place.

Stale wontons. Cold food. Very disappointing. I ordered $ 30 of food including crab Rangoon, hibachi steak and shrimp with lobster sauce. The food was barely warm and the rangoon was stale and tasteless.

Amazing! Cheap food for your Chinese fix. This isn’t a five star restaurant but it’s great take out.

Sorry to be the first negative review. This place is hard to find… it is sort of beside where the old Blockbuster’s was, beside Staples, on E. Franklin. Zilch décor. Like, rent a space, put in about 6 or 7 little tables, hang a TV showing the Weather channel. Order at the counter, no enthusiasm or thanks for the order… had Pad Thai… brought out a little tray, I mean little, of something barely resembling Pad Thai, but without the taste, basically no taste, and sticky flat noodles. Cokes $ 1.67. Pad Thai about $ 5.50.(Saw a huge plate of General Zao’s chicken or something, taken to a table nearby. It looked good). No reason to go back. I won’t.

Had a menu on my door advertising new delivery, so I gave it a try, and I am glad I did! This place has become my go-to for delivery now. The food is higher quality than the«typical» Chinese place. And this is the first delivery place I’ve found that will make(upon request) General Tso’s with white-meat chicken. Incredible! Large portions, great to-go containers(sort of like Tupperware, not the typical cardboard boxes), food always delivered piping hot, and a very friendly staff. Can’t recommend enough for anyone looking for a new Chinese place!

This is the best ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Chinese buffet in chapel hill. They have a great variety of americanized chinese food and even offer some authentic asian dishes like sushi and fish soups etc. I’d recommend going there when you are looking to eat your heart out and not stop until you hate yourself. It’s also great for high-protein diets on a budget for those of us looking to gain muscle and not spend too much cash. 35 Chinese is a great spot down on the far east end of Franklin, near the DMV and whole foods.

Great ingredients, great value. Freshly prepared veggies at lunch, even. If you need a new inexpensive Chinese place, you can’t go wrong here.
