I had an absolutely horrible experience with the design woman working one afternoon. I honestly can’t remember being treated so poorly in a retail store. When I walked in the store, she was the only person in the store so I asked if she could help me. I didn’t know there paint people and design people. She had zero interest in helping me and was downright condescending. I was so close to just walking out but needed a specific BM paint for a special project. Luckily, the actual Benjamin Moore paint guy did get me want I needed but when I retuned to the store to pick up my order, a different guy wasn’t as helpful. Will seek out a different paint store in the future.

I can certainly vouch for the previous comments regarding bad service. I am «paint illiterate» but needed to pick up a can of touch-up paint. Found the color code and went to the guy, who was extremely bothered that I would dare interrupt his checking his cell phone. His tone in general was extremely rude — not only towards me but also towards the other guy working the counter who rung up my order. Like I said, I am «paint illiterate,» so I don’t know what I’m doing when I go and order a specific color. All I ask is that if you work in a store that specializes ONLY in paint, and your job requires little more than pressing buttons into a machine and speaking to a customer, a little bit of simple assistance goes a long way. What this guy doesn’t know is that I just moved into a very large new house that I intend on re-painting. Some paint retailer is about to make a lot of money off of me. Too bad for this guy, it won’t be his store. And especially after my trip to the Duron store immediately after this one, I have learned that there ARE paint salespeople who have basic people skills, and offer their product at a more reasonable price — Imagine that! 2nd star for the other poor employee for having to deal with main guy’s nonsense yet still being cordial to customers. Bottom line — if you like being talked down to and paying exorbitant prices for a non-superior product, by all means come here.

This store is really hit or miss and ultimately I’m frustrated. 1) Depending on who is behind the counter the service is either terrible or great. There’s no in-between. 2) They sell their Benjamin Moore paint samples in C2 test pots — this means they cost twice as much($ 12 vs $ 6) AND the color is not the same as what you’ll get when you actually buy Benjamin Moore gallons. I ordered a test pot of Benjamin Moore gray owl and loved it — but when I ordered 3 gallons it was a completely different color. I had to bring it back in to be adjusted. They were helpful, but couldn’t get it to match the sample pot they’d given me so ultimately I had to buy 3 new gallons of Gray Owl in C2 paint so that it’d match the sample they sold me. Bottom line, save yourself the extra cost and hassle and go to Vienna Paint of Fairfax to get actual Benjamin Moore samples.

If you’re looking for help with anything paint-related, don’t come here. Went twice to this store and wasn’t so much as acknowledged either time.(The second time she was complaining to someone else about not making enough money… hmm wonder if she works on commission…) This woman — same one both times — wouldn’t know customer service if it bit her on the behind. We’ll take our business elsewhere and I recommend you do too.

I stopped by today to pick up a fan deck in hopes of helping a Seller client of mine neutralize their home before going on the market. Teri was there to greet me when I walked in and was so incredibly helpful. I have used the BM colors for a few years now to recommend to clients, but never really understood the difference between all the different lines: Classic, Preview, Affinity etc… well, I do know! Teri had so much knowledge not just about the lines, but different paint colors. When I asked her for some recommendations on finding a Navy color for an accent wall in my home she immediately pulled out several different colors from different lines and lended her opinion and her expertise. I will certainly be back for another consultation for some new colors for my home!
