McDonald’s

Not really a review, more of an acknowledgement. I just want to say that James (I believe that was his name) was so kind and so polite. He really stuck out to me. I feel like a lot of people these days don’t really use manners, but he used manners, smiled, and seemed like he was just happy to help. I appreciate him and hope he lives a very successful life!

The worst. 6 people standing around doing nothing and we couldn’t get any help. Finally we placed our order and after having to go back twice because the order was incorrect we finally got the correct order. However the hamburgers were burnt! We just walked out. The place was a 3 ring circus and we were not the only ones who walked out. I’ll bet these incompetent staff members want a raise above minimum wage!

This location sucks. I was in the drive through about couple years ago and I left the drive through thinking that I got all my food only to find out when at home that I only got my drink. I was so furious and frustrated that I went back and complained that they didn’t give me my food. So they gave me my food and apologized to me in a way like it wasn’t a big deal saying ‘sorry about that’ but it was to me because I had to drive 10 to 15 minutes back to get my food. They didn’t even compensate me for driving all the way back to get my food. Screw this mcdonalds I hope it goes out of business because they don’t care about the customers. The mcdonalds in south riding even though they screw up orders they make up for it. I don’t see how anyone thinks that this mcdonalds is better than the one in south riding.

As I walk in to get my FAST food I’m immediately stopped by the line in front of me. There was a huge line in the deuce thru so my intention was to avoid a wait. Aside from that all you can hear is a manager yelling at and belittling her staff. From the moment I walked in to the time I got my food, it was a total of 20 minutes. I go to this location because it’s so conveniently next to my job. Additionally, when I visited this location last night to just get ice cream, the young lady at the counter was exclaiming «my patience is running thin» because of a customer complaint in front of us. There’s several other fast food options around them, just go any where else.

I go to this place normally late at night. There is another review on here that said the drive-​thru is slow past 11pm. That wasn’t a joke. This place is slow at night. Speaker and window. And it seems around 2am, until about 4:30am-ish time they are cash only.

Stopped by for ice cream on the way out of town. Professional uniforms stood out to me. The dress code of employees reflected their professional attitude toward a family of 8 just grabbing a quick snack.

Never mind…

I arrived right before 11 am for lunch. I ordered a «medium #1 with coke to drink» That’s the Big Mac Meal for those of you who haven’t memorized the McDonalds menu…
I drove away with a Big Mac only — no fries. I checked my receipt, it was listed as a meal. Was I going to go back and argue? Not for that.
It is on my way so I will probably go again. But — this is just a warning for anyone who gets behind the red jeep in line there. I’m going to sit there after they give me food and go through my bag every-​single-​fricken-​time from now on. And then I will probably ask for ketchup and honey mustard sauce. Then I will put it in first gear and drive away real slow… I will continue to do that until balance has been restored in the universe.
Aside from that — the food was fine.
*Update — June 2013: OK — I’ve been several times since. This is one of the better run McDonalds. All my food has been good. That said — I still check my orders every time. I might have caught them once since then, but they fixed it quickly. I have upgraded from 3 to 4 stars.

When they get your order right, it is ok for McDonald’s food, but they rarely get your order right in the drive thru. I have now started to check my order before leaving the window. That includes opening any wrappers and checking sandwiches and also tasting the drink provided. They don’t seem to know the difference between Coke and Diet Coke. If you go here, be sure to check your order before you leave.

I have to give this place two stars because they often get orders wrong going through the drive through. Plus they do not seem to know the difference between butter and margarine and will provide margarine only for pancakes these days. They forget to put milk in coffee and give you the wrong sandwich too.

Background: I am a former McDonald’s employee and shift manager, and worked there for parts of five years growing up.
I regularly visit this McDonald’s, which is in an area near a convention center and a new Wal-​Mart, and is one of seven eating establishments in a 2 – 3 block area. They all practically share the same parking lot. It seems constantly busy.
Their drive-​thru service is really outstanding. They have two ordering stations and two windows, and they consistently send you on your way in 90 seconds or less. It’s a little longer at lunch time (due to the long lines), but once you get to the ordering station it moves pretty quickly. The order takers really do «smile with their voices» and make you feel at home. They will often ask me «Is the order on the screen correct?», which is a small thing but it reinforces the idea that they want to get it right. Also, there is one lady who is at the second window, and she is fantastic – friendly, efficient, and has a good memory for regular customers.
At the window inside it’s definitely a lot less speedy, and based on what I’ve seen this is where they hide their less motivated folks.
Either way, I haven’t had an order messed up in the 4+ years I have been going there and that’s saying a lot.

Stopped by on my way to work Friday morning and ordered a bagel w/​cream cheese and a large coffee. I only work a few miles down 28 and waited until I was in the office before eating. I pulled out the bagel and it was soaked in grease and had part of a slice of cheese on one side. It was obvious that they stripped it off a sandwich and threw it in the bag. DISGUSTING!!! About 10 minutes later, I take the first sip of coffee. I had to pour it down the sink in the bathroom because it was gross. In fact, when I poured it out, it looked like tea (in color). They must have re-​used the beans 2 or 3 times. If they don’t take pride in the product they deliver, then they won’t see this consumer’s business!!! Stay away!

Fast efficient service. Consistent McDonald’s chow. I’d go back again.

By the late 90’s we Americans became convinced that a fast food restaurant (unless it was located in an area where bullet proof glass is required at the register) should put you to work filling, and refilling your own drink at the soda fountain. This McDonalds violates this sacred rule, leaving one with no choice but to take the top off their cup, and carry it to the counter to ask to be topped off. The amount of corn syrup this prevents Chantillyans from ingesting due to laziness is probably in the gallons weekly.
The inside of this location is extremely clean by Mc’ds standards. There are very few booths though. Mostly tables, which can be a pain when trying to contain kids. At least it doesn’t have a play area.
By the way, don’t sit in the booth by the front side window on the east side of the dining room. That’s where I was sitting in March when my son demonstrated how the stomach flu and Mcnuggets don’t mix.

Service was excellent. Workers were very courteous, quick and accurate in taking orders. Its a great place to take your kids as there is a very «kid-​friendly» restaurant. I would strongly recommend you try their salads and Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese burger.
