Do not rent here thinking that you will save money or get a quality instrument. I feel these people take advantage of parents who don’t know much about strings. The amount we paid for a year of rental could have purchased our rental instrument outright. Also, please do not be misled by the claim that you can apply your rental credits toward an instrument for purchase at a discount. Of course, you DO get your rental credits, but the offerings for sale are used instruments and are marked up by the amount you have a credit for. Also, please ask them about how you have to apply your rental credit. This was very confusing. My husband was told we could «level up» using our credit, and then Magically one day our credit was only good towards the POS instrument that we were trading in. No thanks. Found a beautiful intermediate instrument for our daughter online that came with two lovely bows and a nice case for much less. Our private instructor is thrilled with the quality, and you can immediately hear the difference!!! This shop is friendly and knowledgeable but they will not stay competitive in today’s market if they keep up the scheistery antics.

Most rental shops know nothing about violins. As a consequence they rent instruments of poor quality. Day Violins offers the best instruments in the metro area. Prior to the opening of Day Violins I would drive to Bethesda to find quality instruments but now happily rely on Day.

I teach public school students and private cello students. I enjoy seeing instruments from Day Violins at both school and in my cello studio. Their instruments are set up well and have a beautiful sound. Rental prices are straightforward on their website and there are different rental classes to meet all budgets. The owners and staff care about their customers, the young musicians playing their instruments, and the northern Virginia music community.

Highly recommend this place for violin rentals!!! The rental violins are in excellent condition and playability is more than enough for beginners. I am a violin teacher and most of my students get their rental instruments from here. Prices are fair and service is wonderful.

I was impressed with their passion for music and quality and they are wonderful to work with. Their standards are high for the instruments and their business. They have kids of their own who play instruments so they know how to work with kids and what the issues are for parents. Prices are fair especially good for the better quality instruments they carry.

We just picked up our rental cello for my son last week. My son was extremely nervous about going in (kids!?), which resulted in making us very late. The staff was excellent with my shy child, and he instantly warmed up and was excited about his new interest. I appreciated their flexibility and sense of humor, and found their prices and services very reasonable.
