This place is awesome. I absolutely love the vibe and the drinks are made to perfection.

Great atmosphere in this underground speakeasy! Drinks were a bit on the pricey side. I ordered the Max-Tiki and drink was ok(expected more out of an $ 18 drink). With my party of 4, we ordered the bruschetta and two pizzas. The bruschetta was not that great. The toast felt like it came from a cheap loaf of bread and the toppings didn’t work. The pizzas come from the restaurant upstairs(Crust) and they are huge! Pizza was good, except red sauce was way too runny and practically dripped out from the pizza. 4 overpriced drinks, 2 good pizzas, and one crappy bruschetta later, our bill came out to $ 150(including tip). The struggle is real!!!

Welcome cocktail connoisseurs! This place has an amazing rotation of specialty cocktails and a fabulous selection of spirits — the bar is legit! The speakeasy décor was awesome(not to mention the bookshelf entrance) and the bar had great energy(good music, just enough people, etc.). In response to previous comments, yes the drinks may take longer to make but these are quality cocktails, not vodka red bulls. We had a lot of fun and will definitely be back next time were out in Chandler!

Where do I begin? This place is so unique, there really isn’t anything like it in the Phoenix area. The speak-easy feel reminded me of being back home in Portland, OR. I was visiting friends in Arizona when someone suggested this place. It was so fun trying to find the hidden door and discovering the dimly-lit, well stocked bar and getting to know the resident ostrich in all of his/her glory. I mean c’mon, a taxidermy ostrich? Yes, please. The bartenders definitely knew what they were doing because our drinks were crafted to perfection. My husband is super picky about his old fashions(he likes the big ice cubes) and sure enough, they had the big ice cubes and the drink was delicious. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, so I told the bartender what I like and I was impressed by his eagerness to make me something good(most bartenders would just blow me off and give me a half-assed fruity drink). The ambiance is perfect for a date night or just to get away from the monotony of your typical Scottsdale bar. You really do feel like you’re in a different world. I would definitely recommend this place!

Neat setting, nestled away with no signage in true speakeasy fashion. Plenty of table and booth seating. Craft cocktails, the French 75 was my favorite. A good place to start your evening! Opens at 8pm!

My new favorite spot! A sort of speakeasy downstairs from Crust, this place is a refreshing addition to downtown Chandler. We sat at the bar and had Brandon take care of us and I couldn’t be more impressed with the quality of service and drink knowledge! We weren’t sure what to order, but he asked us a few questions about what we typically enjoy and came up with the perfect drink(for me it was«the last word» — I’d strongly recommend you try it). We’d only planned on going in for a quick drink and ended up staying for hours! Definitely a 5-star experience, don’t miss out!

Best cocktail I’ve had in a long time. I got the Tableside Old Fashioned with Rye. The«Conflagration Nation» looked solid, I’ll be back for it!

The east valley was in need of a cocktail lounge and now we got it! I had the French 75, The Aviator and a drink specially made for me with my favorite liquor St. Germaine. Loved every one of them. maybe a tad to much because I kept wanting more! These are not the cheap/fruity/sugary cocktails you get at most restaurants. These are unique in every way with flavors such as violet… yes violet liquor. It was incredible! Atmosphere was dark and candlelit with some great music. I love how friendly the staff was as well. Waitress was so sweet and the manager was amazing! He heard it was my bday and sent us over free shots! That’s service! Thanks for making my bday unique and special. I will most definitely be back!

Great addition to downtown chandler, was thoroughly impressed with the ambiance and music from the moment I walked in. I would’ve definitely stayed a LOT longer if I could have just gotten a drink. Hostess is probably a bit too quiet and young for this place, she let us pass by without a hello. At 1030pm(peak biz) there was 1 Bartender helping bar guests(and didn’t look up for a good 5 minutes while he made 3 old fashions/ridiculous amount of time) and 2 bartenders working the server wells. While we were waiting for a hello(that never happened), I grabbed a table after letting hostess know I was grabbing(she then had it cleaned off for me after it said dirty for a while). After 10 minutes and no server, we went back to bar for a drink. After a good 20 minutes here, still no drink. :-( Would’ve been more then glad to spend the extra money here, it’s too bad they skimp on service. Either you need more bartenders or you need more servers. I’m sure the bartenders THINK they can handle the volume but they’re just being greedy and it’s hurting the biz. So instead of worrying about bartenders making $ 500/night, take better care of your customers… or they won’t come back when all the other new bars open up! Another new bar is opening next week. I’ll try there before I come back. Super disappointed and I was so excited. Ps-loved the music choice but for these drink prices, you should have live music!

Unique place to drink and socialize. Friendly staff, great drinks and atmosphere. Tell them what liquor you like, and they’ll make you something you’ve probably never tried before, and then describe it in detail when they bring it to you. Great concept, and a nice addition to the Downtown Chandler area!

Wow, what a awesome spot. Super speakeasy vibe, and great cocktails. Its all under ground so if you’re a little claustrophobic this may not be the place for you :) but i loved it. My husband I are big fans of Valley Bar which is an underground/speakeasy-ish bar in downtown phoenix and this is very similar. Its a very hip yet casual and welcoming place. Lighting is low, music is loud and the drinks are tasty. what more could you want? You take stairs to get down to the bar which is guarded by a door man. I felt like i was going to some elite/forbidden place which made me like it even more. The back story of this place is pretty cool too but i wont ruin it for you. I have been hoping downtown chandler would start to bring in some new, hip places into the area and this seems like a great step forward for the city. My husband had a whiskey ginger and Bullet was this well whiskey at the time which is pretty impressive. He said it was made just right. You can tell this place take a lot of pride in their cocktails and it shows. But take note, if your not a fan of loud areas you may want to reconsider because this place got really loud at times. Thanks for the yummy cocktails and fun atmosphere.

My new absolute favorite place. I was thrilled to hear of a «secret basement speakeasy» in downtown Chandler… after some research, I learned that they specialize in fresh, handcrafted cocktails. I’m more of a craft beer gal, so was even more thrilled to find a tap with local, seasonal, and according to the menu, always rotating selections. Cool! We came to visit on a Saturday night. There aren’t any signs, so unless you know what you’re looking for, you’ll walk right passed the entrance. Once inside, the ambiance is very warm, and dark lit. I anticipated a possible pretentious or obnoxious vibe, but was pleasantly surprised to not find either. No tv’s, and was more entertained people watching and seeing the bartenders carefully put together beautiful and artistic works of art out of each drink. So much so, I had to try one. Brandon is a genious mixologist! After a few questions about my preferences, he put together the best cocktail I’ve ever enjoyed. No detail goes unfinished here. I haven’t been to a spot like this since living in downtown LA or Seattle, and I’m proud to have The Ostrich right here in Chandler. Can’t wait to go back!

The Duck Nochos, really good, staff really nice and friendly! Now let go to the bad side… my Bloody Mary Drink really bad, no flavor at all only plain tomato juice and vodka(behind bloody Mary drink should be a recipe) And how to forget that they charged my friend $.50 for a tiny side of ranch dressing… Very Nice!

Came here with my wife and some friends during our Friday night pub crawl. It was my first time at a speakeasy-type establishment and I gotta say I had a blast! Ordered a Manhattan and was pleasantly surprised with all qualities(aroma, taste, presentation, etc.). One of my friends ordered the Blood & Sand and also was amazed with the quality of his drink. The staff was also fabulous and provided my friends and I with recommendations as to which cocktails we would enjoy most. The place was rocking but not overly crowded, a vibe I totally liked but know may change with time(the place just opened recently). BTW: The entrance of course is not announced so you kinda have to know where you’re going(hint: look for stairs on the side of Crust).

Finally a serious cocktail bar in Chandler(RIP Barrelhouse)! Swanky and slick, The Ostrich casts a speakeasy vibe with a touch of upscale nightclub. Dark corners, old school vinyl booths and well-heeled cocktail waitresses. Classic cocktails served with attention to detail and technique. They aren’t messing around here. I’m an Old Fashioned snob, and these guys get it right on so many levels. The place is hidden. No signs. Underground, figuratively and literally. To find it, look for the descending stairs on the South wall of Crust. When we were there, there was a line to get in. Prices reflect the upscale atmosphere. $ 10ish for long fizzy drinks, $ 12ish for well(and well made) cocktails, and more for the occasional über fancy drink. Shorts and flip flops will not cut it here. Bring that date you want to impress.
