Have eaten here often and didn’t realize I never reviewed this gem. It is on rate one and shares a lot with brandy wine prime. It is a blob with Italian food always a great combination and here is no difference. I love the lobster ravioli I’ve had. They make wonderful dishes and I miss Cindy who was a waitress here for a long time. Great for a few couples or group eating out together. It’s busy, it’s noisy, the food is awesome and you bring the wine, win win.

This is usually so great! Bad night tonight. A special surf n turf was not Filet like our waitress said it was. Probably skirt steak. Was ok. The lobster risotto was delish !!! The fish special was Barramundi was great but the side pasta taglietelle alioli was a greasy mess. The Fava Bean porcini mushroom taglietelle was also a greasy mess. Think pasta home made and very thin may be why the pasta did not hold up to the heavy alioli and fava bean porcini mushroom dishes. It was like egg noodle consistency. We didn’t speak up because so out of the norm for here. Hope just an off night. It was very busy. I will still go again because i know it is so out of character.

Stopped here for a late lunch on the way to Longwood Gardens. Good service and even better food. I recommend the antipasto appetizer, spinach fettuccine and chicken parm. I can’t remember the last time I ordered fettuccine, but the homemade spinach pasta and pesto sauce sounded too good to pass up. It was delicious and enough food for two meals.

This place reminded me the true meaning of service, just like back home. This is a great stop after Longwood Gardens. It was nearly empty and the owner welcomed us warmly. Seafood salad was very very very delicious. The only thing I can complain is that, both napoleon eggplant and fish had too much marinara sauce, hiding the real taste. I’d prefer less marinara sauce, but it depends on personal taste. I have to warn that they don’t have alcohol license. They were very kind to bring us some fresh homemade limoncello and many additional things that I can’t really count. The bill was reasonable. We paid around $ 70 for three appetizers and two main courses. I’ll try to come back to this place if I have the chance again.

It was my first time here for lunch with a dear friend. I was impressed with every facet of the dining experience. The wait staff was extremely attentive. The food was a simply fabulous. We both had Cesar salad and then their magnificent home made pasta dish: Cacio e Pepe. Pasta tossed in cracked black pepper pecorino Romano cheese sauce. Fabulous! I had no room for desert but did enjoy perfect espresso which was served in a warmed cup. Beautiful job to all at Antica! Mille grazie per tutti!

If you enjoy dining at the Airport-this is your place. Loud, noisy and fast food quality meals. Absolutely no atmosphere. Inexperienced staff.

This place is just wonderful. I’d been once for lunch and once for dinner before we decided to host our rehearsal dinner here. I highly, highly recommend hosting an event here– the staff was so helpful and accommodating. They even allowed us to bring our own desserts and served them for us(and even took orders on which pie flavors the guests wanted). The food is outstanding, especially the spinach fettuccine! BYOB makes it even better. Don’t think, just go!

What didn’t I order? What didn’t I enjoy? I ate salmon, an eggplant appetizer, braised carrots, lump crab meat, crème brule, braised beef risotto rice balls and was offered bites of sausage and pasta from my cousin… why am I giving you a list like this? BECAUSE each morsel was a perfect bite… the service is spectacular as well… what a meal… thank you.

My boyfriend and I discovered this amazing place after frequently dining at their sister restaurant Il Granaio. Antica is just as good. The service was impeccable. the bruschetta is too die for. The sweetness from the honey balances the tartness from the tomatoes. A PERFECT bite. My boyfriend gets his usual chicken parm, and he says it is the best he ever had. Both antica and il Granaio are better than many other Italian places i have been to in Philly.

Appetizers were excellent… service was excellent… dessert was excellent… Swordfish Special was very thin and grilled too long so it was pretty dry… overall a very good experience. We will return.

My boyfriend and I ate here on our way to Longwood Gardens. We came across Antica on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. The service was great and everything was delicious. We started with the mussels in red as an appetizer. I had the branzino which was filleted table side by our very professional and pleasant waiter(I forget his name but he had an italian accent). My boyfriend had the seafood stuffed pasta with crabmeat and lobster in a truffle sauce. We obviously had left overs and ate the rest the next day. My only complaint is where we sat — in the small room off the main dining room next to the emergency exit door. Wasn’t the ideal location as we made a very early resrvation(5PM), but the restaurant did seem to get very busy by the time we left. If I lived in the area I would definitely be a regular. I will try to return again on my trips out to Longwood Gardens.

First Time there, great service, great food, desert was great. Waiter and staff continue to make sure we had Water, Bread and anything else we needed. 4 of us just ate there, would recommend to anyone. Carrots and potatoes great. Mussels with Red sauce was great. We had Salmon, Shrimp, and I had veal… Excellent. thanks,

Must confess I came in a bit suspicious as to whether a Chadd’s Ford 4.5-star restaurant would live up to a NYC4.5 — and I’m happy to say it does! Tl;dr: great food, reasonable prices and exceptional service. Our party of three ordered the caprese and arugula salad to start and share, which were both fresh and well seasoned. The bottle of white we brought needed to chill, so our super attentive and thoughtful waiter Julian brought over a bigger ice bucket to help it chill faster. We decided on the seafood agnolotti, shrimp fradiavolo and pulpo contadino(octopus) as entrees with Julian’s help. All three were delicious, especially the agnolotti(the lobster and crabmeat stuffing was substantive and not shredded into an indiscernible pulp as at other places– and what could go wrong with a truffle brandy cream sauce??) and pulpo(the octopus was tender but still had that great slightly charred, smoky flavor). We were unfortunately too stuffed for dessert but finished off with a lovely little taste of limoncello on the house. We sat a while longer at the end of the meal and never felt rushed. Haven’t left feeling this pleased with every aspect of a meal in quite a while!(Here’s looking at you, NY Restaurant Week.) Looking forward to our next visit while in town.

Amazingly delicious pasta dishes. We had the gnocchi, and the spezzatino – both were rich, delicious, and comprised of multiple layers of flavor and complexity. Chocolate bread pudding was one of the best chocolate desserts I have ever had. A+!!!

Came here while we were staying overnight at the Brandywine River Hotel, a few big pros for this restaurant: –A two minute walk from the hotel –BYOB!(perfect after wine tasting) –Delicious Lobster ravioli –Friendly, quick service –Nice ambience –Good price I would recommend coming here when you are in the area and I preferred this place to Brandywine Prime which is right next door.

Into the plethora of 4 and 5 star reviews, I’m tossing in a «2». And for good reason, I think. I’ve now been to Antica at least a half-dozen times in a year, and each time I’m less impressed. First there was time I showed up with my octogenarian parents with a 7pm reservation, and we had to wait a half hour to be seated. Keep in mind this restaurant has NO waiting area. Yes, I know they can’t help it if patrons want to linger, but they should by now have realized they can’t turn over tables every hour. Then there was the time I came with my wife and daughter. Despite our reservation for 3, we were seated at a table for 2 near the door. We asked to be moved away from the door, since it was quite cold and we were very crowded. We got shunted to the back of the restaurant, received indifferent service(at best), and after we were served, definitely got«the bum’s rush» as they tried to get us out. Now, our res was for 9pm, so I get they wanted to get out of there, but then don’t take reservations for that late if that’s going to be the attitude. Recently, I tried to add my son onto a reservation. Again, I get that this is a hassle, but they made zero effort to accommodate us, nor did they offer us another time, or even another evening. What made this worse was they had the reservation wrong to begin with. When I told them I would never have made the res for the time they had(we were going to be somewhere past that time), I got«that’s the time we had». No apology, nothing. Finally, I tried to make a res for Valentines Day eight days before. The guy taking the res laughed(yes, laughed!) and said«We’ve been sold out for Valentine’s Day for weeks.» No «sorry». No «how about Friday night?». Just laughter. I need this? The food here is usually quite good, but let’s face it… this is Chadds Ford, not Manhattan, or even Philly. I really don’t need the attitude… my money spends quite nicely elsewhere. I doubt I’ll go back. There are just too many things that are turning me off. Dining out is about the entire experience, and the good food isn’t rescuing the restaurant from the attitude of the people serving. For the money, I can do better, thank you very much.

Took my girlfriend here before a night at long wood gardens, and we loved it. The antipasto was excellent, with the cheese, meats and long hots. The olives were fresh. Our entrees, bucatini carbonara and the crab lobster agnolotti were very good. We liked that you could get a half portion to make room for an a la carte side. The best part was the byob. It allowed us to get a nicer dish without worrying about overpriced drinks. We will be back soon with friends

First time here and it was incredible! Showed up with no reservation on a Saturday(which was a gamble). We were seated in 5 minutes. We started with the eggplant appetizer. My mom had the Salmon and I had the veal and crab. We shared a side of broccoli. Every bite was delicious and I cannot wait to go back! Our waiter was a attentive and helpful and although the place was packed he never rushed us!
