The Habit Burger Grill

How can a Habit be bad, if it comes with fresh ingredients & a side of fries? Am I right?
The Habit Burger Grill is the latest tenant at the revitalized Plaza 183 in Cerritos. Not to be confused with Plaza 187 in Compton yo, for all you Dr. Dre fans ;p
I had the opportunity to attend The Habit’s Grand Opening, which so happened to be in my neck of the woods. Having not had a burger in a good while, my tummy screamed «burger time» driving up Gridley Ave to get here.
BBQ bacon charburger w/​fries —
Bacon, onion rings, cheese, mayo, pickles, tomato, lettuce & raw onions. Lettuce-​wrapped, per request. This hit the spot for my tastebud burger hiatus. The patty was juicy, with crunchy bits of salty bacon & onion adding texture with each bite. The tomatos & pickles were bright & fresh. The BBQ bacon charburger was a decent size, and very good to eat. The fries were thick, crunchy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. After adding a dousing of malt vinegar & Cholula as dipping sauce, the fries were filling & A-​OK.
Service was great. Since it was the Grand Opening, all hands were on deck. I didn’t have to wait too long for my order, although a few people after me received their food first. Some of the staff offered to fetch me more Cholula and soda water w/​green tea, which I took as a kind gesture. Not a lot of seating available, with booths, counters & al fresco seating facing the mall.
For those who haven’t been to a Habit before, sandwiches & salads are also on the menu. On the sweeter side, hand-​spun shakes & malts, cones & sundaes are available.
Parking is in a private lot at Plaza 183, and can become quite hard to come by. The Habit is located on the right of Blaze Fast-​Fired Pizza & Pier 76 Fish Grill, west of Josephine’s & east of Buffalo Wild Wings.
The Habit is another great casual eatery in Cerritos. The charburgers are fresh & flavorful, and their onion rings are quite remarkable. I can see myself being a regular at this location. The food’s great, with the service to match. I think I’m gonna have a go with one of the malts next time. Quick & convenient, you should make it a habit to grab some burgers at The Habit.

This is a newer location. We usually go to the one on Lakewood Blvd. in Long Beach. This was was not as clean. The tables were bussed but not wiped. The food here was as good as the other! Yummy! I LOVE their tempera green beans! So much better than fries and I love fries. The burger was cooked well and the toppings were fresh. Thanks Habit!

Good food, good service.
I especially like the tempura fried green beans, they are delicious! They are a must try for everyone who is new to eating at the habit.
This location is always clean, I have yet to come across even a dirty table. The workers are very friendly, I enjoy eating here.

Went yesterday with my wife and made 2 orders, the girl who took my order asked me if I like cheese on my burger and I asked if there is extra charge, she said no, I realized after going home I was over charged in the compo I orderd, not a good experince even if it is few cents.

They are really popping up all over lately and well deserved!
The staff here was very friendly and already knew what they were doing.
Food came out quickly and was prepared perfectly.
I had the santa barbara cobb and subbed ahi for the chicken, it was a fantastic lunch.
Light but still filling, great flavors and good quality for the price.
Love their fries, my husband loves the tri tip and my son the kids meals so there is something for everyone.

I like the Habit better than any other quick burger place, including In N Out. This location, since it is new is extremely clean! This time I came, I only got an order of half regular fries and half sweet potato fries. The cashier was extremely friendly and patient as I asked her questions for my fry order (I was indecisive on what to get.) Normally I get the Santa Barbara Char… Yum! It has a patty, avocado, tomato, cheese, etc on sourdough bread. I would definitely recommend if you have not tried yet. They have a small condiment bar that has lots of jalapeños and banana peppers and ketchup and mustard.
I have previously tried the regular Charburger and the Swiss Mushroom Charburger and both were also very good :)
To me, The Habit does not taste at all like fast food. However it is comparable to other fast food joint prices and very affordable. Oh! The ice cream is really good here too :) I love McDonalds ice cream cause it’s so creamy and milky, and the Habits is too!

I work very close to this location. My coworkers and I always pick up food during work hours. Today they some how lost the order for 6 of us. They wanted me to re-​order while I was there. But I don’t have the time to sit there and wait for them to cook food for 6 people. One last thing, their tri-​tip sandwich is horrid. The meat is so tough and impossible to eat as a sandwich.

This was my second time here, the 1^st time it took awhile for our food to arrive but they were still new, only a few days old. This time was much more efficient. The food was very good and consistent. I had the bacon burger and onion rings, free ranch is always nice!

If you want a charbroiled burger, this is the place to come. The employees were friendly and warm when I came in to order. After ordering, the cashier seemed to be having a bit of difficulty, which is understandable since they opened recently. She had another employee help her figure it out and then my order was in its way.
I ordered my food to go and when I came home I realized that they forgot the grilled onions on my Charburger with cheese. I was honestly a little disappointed, but the burger was full of flavor, lettuce was crisp, and the tomatoes were fresh. The order of fries had too much salt for my taste, but tasted better when I dipped them in my side of ranch.
It was a good experience for a not-​your-​average-​fast-​food-​burger, and I would like to think that in the future my order will be perfect!

The Habit is here, cue the happy dance! charburger is the best burger ever. veggie burger with its veggie patty is also great. Its just awesome food with great service and great price.

Yes, this place is better than In-​n-​Out! (At least to me it is …)
My go-​to order is the Santa Barbara Char (consists of two perfectly charred patties, avocado, two slices of cheese, grilled onions, tomato, lettuce, mayo, all on toasted sourdough… YUM! (I’m getting hungry writing this review…)

Affordable, clean, great customer services, and satisfied tummy, what more can you ask for?!

So far so good for me. Info wish they had more seating and maybe even one tv showing sports. I know it’s not a sports bar but always nice to have that option.

Cerritos is stepping it up! The Habit is by far THE BEST burger place I’ve had ALL YEAR. I purchased a Double Char meal last night. Service was excellent, the wait was decent, but the burger was incredible! It was so good, that after I was finished I refilled my drink, and ordered another burger! A veggie this time, just as a test, and that was fire too! The cucumbers work. I woke up this morning thinking, «…was that all a dream???» Just to find find two receipts in my jacket pocket. Eh, it’s New Year’s Eve today, time to go back right now… Bcuz you know what they say… Third times a char!

Well I came here couple night ago and I get it that it was late around 8 pm. Getting the pastrami with onion rings is my go to. I get it at every habit.
I ordered all of that Togo and when I took my onion rings out of the bag I can literally count 4 pieces. I know this location is still new but that’s really a lazy way to work. I’m sure the cooks didn’t want to fry up more or maybe dropped some. If they were low on anything they should at least inform the customers before we purchase something.

So good here I mean so good well made burgers my kids loved there meals as well try there onion rings.

I dined in at The Habit for my third and perhaps, last, time this afternoon.
My meal was nothing to write home about: double chargrilled with added avocado and bacon, complemented by two sides of sweet potato fries. The burger was good. The fries were fair, rather under seasoned, in my opinion.
I first had The Habit over at the Airport Plaza in Long Beach, upon touching down in Southern California. I was pleasantly surprised, a fast food burger with such decadence. I quickly hailed it supreme to In & Out Burger.
I don’t know what happened today. My food was kind of average. I am a burger and french fry connoisseur; I go out for this classic American meal once a month. A mere twelve burgers/​year is what I’ve got to work with. Generally, only divine intervention can bring me to part from a cheeseburger during my cheat meals. So, whenever it is that I get my hands on one, you are going to have to extricate it with the force of God.
Overall, this fell short of the mark. I would have handed over my sandwich with little coercion.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s decent, but not my ideal artery constricting, cardiac bypass worthy indulgence. I won’t be returning soon.

Cerritos is now officially complete with the addition of The Habit!
If you’ve never tried it you are definitely in for a treat. In my opinion their charburger is far superior to anything IN N Out offers, no offense, In N Out is good but the Habit is just great! The quality of their ingredients, the friendliness of their associates and the cleanliness of their locations definitely exceeds that of your typical «fast food» restaurant.
As if all of this weren’t enough their menu goes beyond burgers, their chicken sandwiches, salads, etc are equally as delicious.
