Agreed about the wimpy sandwiches! We love this Cedarburg gem and have been going here for years. But the sandwiches have gotten really really small! They don’t even satisfy my kids, which means we always order the Mac and Cheese as well. So TWO entrees for each of my kids makes this an expensive place now days! But we still love it.

My boyfriend and I went here last night for dinner and you would have thought we went to two separate restaurants based on the meals we received. I ordered the Pecan Chop salad with chicken and it was stellar. Loaded with delicious ingredients and a great value for the money — I highly recommend it. My boyfriend, on the other hand, ordered the roast beef sandwich on gluten free bread. It was priced similarly to my salad, but looked like something you would get in a sad school hot lunch. A comically tiny sandwich, with only the thinnest layer of roast beef. I think he put it down in 6 bites. It was disappointing to see such a stark gap in value between the salad and the sandwich and, based on our experience, I recommend steering clear of anything on the sandwich menu.

Premade paninis are taken out of a fridge, warmed in the microwave and then thrown on a panini press for a a few minutes. Over priced and unimpressive.

Had the veggie hummus wrap, enjoyed it. Great place! If you’re in the area, I would definitely recommend.

It smells so good in here! Their original Mac ‘n’ Cheese tastes really good! So does their grilled cheese, and their classic Cuban sandwich. Very unique atmosphere with books at the table too. Over all, I really like this place!

Fabulous fresh food in an establishment with a conscience. Reclaimed furnishings and a huge community table to gather and meet, add to the refreshingly clean and forward thinking atmosphere. We had the turkey-cranberry wrap and the chipotle chicken sandwich and both were delicious. Just in town for a few days, but the food left me wanting to come back for more.

Not sure what people see in this place. I ordered a Cuban and it was yuck! The mac n cheese taste like it was reheated in the microwave. Noodles is much better then this place with a better variety and just a better deal. Had a bite of my daughters three cheese Mac n cheese with chicken. Yep nothing to write home about!

I’m a bit shocked at how great the reviews are. Apparently cedarburg doesn’t mind pre-made, microwaved food. We ordered a Cuban and mac & cheese. The flavor of the Cuban was unimpressive, as was the size for $ 6. Putting horseradish on a Cuban is just wrong. The Mac and cheese sauce had a nice cheddar flavor. Too bad the noodles were heated in a microwave, had the cheese sauce poured on and then heated in the microwave again. Sadly, the hummus was my favorite thing! We also ordered a peanut butter trophy which we loved. Point being, stick to dessert only.

My whole family has cravings for Mac n cheese from this place! The kids like the regular Mac, I have to have the three cheese Mac with chicken and my husband loves the spicy chicken kick. You can’t go wrong with any of the custard creations either!

Aw shucks. I just love Out & Out. Its new location is cute, clean and more spacious. It has indoor and outdoor seating which is great for summertime custard eating and people watching. If you are getting food, I suggest the Three Cheese Chicken Mac or the Americano panini. The slushy lemonade is perfection on a hot summer day. Out & Out is a great alternative to your everyday sub and hamburger places. Check it out if you want casual dining with fresh and tasty food.

Great custard! What I particularly like is that you can pick any 3 items to add to your chocolate or vanilla custard, so it’s like being able to customize it. Tastes great too! It’s a little wonky trying to come into the place and get to the rear of the line. Pretty tight corners. Parking in the rear.

Pretty darn good, but the Mac and cheese fell flat. The menu makes it seem like you’ll get something special, but when it arrives you realize you could have made some Kraft at home. My sandwich was delicious. I had the Americano which has chicken, roasted red peppers, cheese, spinach, and garlic mayo. I’d suggest that. The atmosphere is nice and clean. It’s a good family place with lots of booths and a big community table. There’s also kid’s books for them to keep entertained. I’d come back, but skip the Mac and try the custard.

We went there this evening with some mild expectations. It was OK. Not bad, but not really wonderful. My first observation came when shortly after we arrived, a customer returned a dish to the kitchen and asked for them to cook it a bit more, that it was ‘a bit underdone’ followed by the telltale sound of keys being pressed on the keyboard of a microwave, followed by the sound of an Amanna Pro Microwave turntable in action. I looked over beyond the counter and saw a beautiful Blodgett 8 burner stove and convection oven, pristine and not in use. In there place, two microwave ovens and a paninni. I ordered the tuna wrap which was nice, no complaints but nothing fantastic. My wife had the buffalo chicken sandwich and she described it as OK, but really, deli shaved chicken. I wish that they would make their food fresh. They have all this wonderful kitchen equipment that is just sitting there. I enjoyed the vibe of the décor. Lots of reclaimed wood such as bleacher seats used as wall paneling and thick barewood tables. Will I return? Hmm. I was not dazzled.

The new location is fantastic and finally meets the standards of the high quality of food that they have been shelling out since day one. Their food is both extremely fresh and and different from the surrounding standard fast food restaurants. The staff is always willing to customize whatever you need on the menu and I have yet to have a meal where the staff is not excited and happy to serve you. Overall Food is great New location is perfect for the food they serve Prices are great for the quality of food you get Definitely recommend you stop in to try it out

The new building just opened. Love it. Only bad thing is the traffic pattern. When it’s crowded be prepared to be sitting down to eat with people’s butts in your face who wait in line. Cedarburg really needs a place like this — an alternative to the fatty, nasty chains. But every time I come here I’m disappointed with the food. The BMT — basil, mozzarella, tomato — I want to be great but it’s not. The bread is just average and they’re stingy withy the cheese. And the Pecan Chop Salad is below average. It’s not even a chop salad. The greens are really good and the balsamic dressing is good, but the rest is so average I lost interest after a few bites. The carrots were dry and looked like they came out of a bag. The pecans were hard to find and not sweet or salty. The tomatoes were just big pink chunks. I hate to plug California Pizza Kitchen but the have an excellent Asian Chopped Salad. Everything is chopped fine. The Out & Out salad isn’t chopped at all. Nothing exciting or flavorful about it. I did like the slushy ice tea. That was a nice surprise. I really don’t feel like going back. Too bad — love the concept. I just don’t like the food.

Out and out is one of my favorite Cedarburg l casual dining option I personally love love love that really basic plane mac & cheese. The tomato basil mozzarella Panini is my the rest the paninis that I have tried are pretty good too. They are currently operating out of a temporary location. They were initially located at the former dairy queen which has now been leveled and cleared out and a new modern building is going in for Out and Out. It looks like it’s going to have a pretty big patio perfect for outside dining. It’s a great place to stop by when in Cedarburg just to grab a bite to eat outside. It’s fast quick and cheap and delicious. Some other things that it has going for it are multiple gluten-free and vegetarian options. They also have a soup of the day and custard flavor of the day. In addition to other standard custard stand treats

This is my favorite place for food in Cedarburg. I no longer live in town but every time I visit, I stop by and get something, usually the Three Cheese Chicken Macaroni. It is to die for! Menu is generally healthy. Cute little place, and I can’t wait until the new location opens.

The new(temporary) location is down the road about ½ mile from the walk up stand. This new location you can walk in and place your order. I have only had the huge butter burgers, cuban sandwich, and of course the frozen custard. The frozen custard is always amazing and the flavors rotate daily. The cuban is decent — I would stick with the burgers. Definitely a greasy food joint yet fun to stop by in summer if you are biking by.

I can’t say for sure how we ended up here, but we stopped in for lunch on our way home from Door County. I’m a huge mac n cheese fan and a bit of a snob about it, and I ordered the veggie mac n cheese, which comes with gluten friendly brown rice pasta. The pasta itself had a good texture and it was nice to have some veggies in there, but I was disappointed with the cheese. It was bright yellow and a bit watery and tasted exactly like Kraft mac n cheese. The husband had some kind of sandwich and I really wish I’d tried the custard. I might give them another shot if it was in the area again and wanted something quick, at least this time I’d know what to expect from their mac.
