Simply Divine Premier Chocolatier

I was at simply Divine today and had wonderful service. We were able to get freshly dipped strawberries, truffles, and chocolate covered potato chips which were all wonderful. The ladies at the store were very friendly and helpful. The store looked clean and we’ll keeped. Enjoyed the signs I wish I could have been able to spend the time to read them all. I will definitely be going back.

Rude and threatening. Complained about the town and downtown during visit. Said my father in law «should be shot» because of his employer.

I haven’t been here since the flood of 2008, so this review is based on what I experienced prior to that time. I have an aunt who swears by this place, so she was the reason our group stopped in this particular afternoon.
The owner was super friendly (and a little rough around the edges imo), but was gracious with samples. Additionally, the shop was well-​stocked; full of yummy edibles and other gift-​y type items. Disclaimer: if you are bringing children, beware! They will grab everything in sight because they carry a lot of kid friendly candies.
I purchased a few chocolates (yes, you can buy individual pieces!), but the truffle I remember most was the ‘Cadillac.’ It was big, nicely decorated and simply just looked too good to eat! Well, that didn’t last long. I devoured the truffle, but I wasn’t overly impressed… which might explain why I can only remember the name and not what it tasted like.
Also, I’m not a smoker, but the shop reeked of cigarette smoke the day we were here. I suppose I’m much more sensitive to the smell because I’m not a smoker, but either way the smoke was wafting out into the store — not so appetizing.
I don’t consider myself a chocolate snob, but I have eaten hundreds of pounds of chocolate over the past 25 years. The chocolate at Simply Devine wasn’t ‘divine’ enough for me (and I LOVE chocolate). I wouldn’t drive across town to return, but I’d likely stop if I were in the downtown area and passing by.
⁴⁄₅ because the customer service was great, despite the fact that I wasn’t crazy about the products. –1 star because the shop smelled like cigarettes.
