This was truly my worst experience with an audiologist’s office or a hearing aid center in my entire life! Picture this: I’m away on vacation with family at the beach in the Emerald Isle area. I look forward to sunny days, warm sand, and the salty ocean. Alas, the tube in my hearing aid was torn! I Google’d and found that Avada was the closest place that can fix my hearing aid. Big mistake! The receptionist inquired if I had an appointment. First of all, there was no one in the waiting room. Second of all, I had called earlier in the morning and was told to just come in. No, I don’t have an appointment. I was told upfront that the tube replacement would be $ 25 bucks. $ 25 bucks!!! I have never paid more than $ 4, if not free, for a tube replacement. Instead of taking me back to the audiologist, I was instructed to place my hearing aid on top of a sheet of Kleenex. I wait a while and my hearing aid comes back. The tube was too long. It was taken back and then returned. It was still too long. Really!!! All you have to do is take me back and have me put on my hearing aid so that you can measure the tube before cutting. Ugh! I just paid for the tube and left. I came back to the rental place and cut the tube myself. Do not go to Avada! The worst experience ever in regards to hearing aids!
