Great stuff. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious, had to bring the other half home for dinner. Will try again when in the area.

Spicy Pickle at 1890 Ranch is not what it used to be. It used to be consistent and of pretty descent quality, but the last few times we’ve eaten there we have been horribly disappointed. My hubby usually orders the Adobe and a cup of Green Chili and Corn Bisque. I tend to get the Brooklyn without tomatoes. I have had the Green Chili and Corn Bisque and would usually recommend it. Pitfall #1: You now have to request the bread when you order soup. They used to just give it to you automatically, but now you have to ask. Pitfall #2: There’s not a «combo». Ordering would be so much easier if they had a combo where you could get your food, a side, and a drink together. There’s a kid’s meal, can’t they just program the computer to do combos? Pitfall #3: Inconsistent. Well, maybe it’s a cut in quality ingredients or staff just getting apathetic, but the last time I picked up an order the soup tasted«off»(like there was something wrong with it and made us nervous to eat it) and the sandwiches(which where toasted panninis) were soggy. And, yes, we ate them as soon as they got home. There wasn’t enough time for them to get soggy and it hasn’t been an issue in the past. At one point I would have recommended this place for a quick, reasonably priced, and reasonably healthy bite to eat for the entire family. Now, don’t bother.

Jen and I ate here today and the best I can tell, this place is cedar parks best kept secret! The food was amazing the service is good and the choices are badass. I had the wise guy(after much indecision) with the pasta salad. Jen got the Italian with the same side. Both were delish! I can’t wait to go back and try their bread thing filled with soup! This place is for sure a winner! Kutos to Jen for finding the place because I would have never been able to figure it out!

We tried and liked the potato soup and the thin crust pizza, good food for a reasonable price… Niki’s Pizza is better and bigger for just a little more money…

I love this place. If your looking for a good lunch place this is it. I’m a big fan of the yard bird, hands down one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.(I mean it) chicken, blu cheese crumbles, honey mustard, spinach, diced apples, and of course bacon. Sooo yummy. Their salads are good too. But the main thing I love is the soup. Best potato soup. THEABSOLUTEBEST! Not the mention they have some amazing pickles. But beware, they are very spicy. Well duh. Give this place a try.

Got an allegedly spicy panini that had no kick to it whatsoever. The pickle, however, was indeed spicy, so at least the place lives up to its name. Not impressed with the choice of sides(orange wedges or pasta salad, of which you get just a smidgen.) And I’m sorry but the«meal deal» should include a drink. The two girls working may as well have been wearing shirts that said«I’d rather be having a colonoscopy,» such was their underwhelming level of enthusiasm. But the sandwich itself was tasty, so I can’t not recommend the place.

We used to go here quite a bit when they first opened. Loved the food, especially the Bandito panini. A bit overpriced, but it was something new that was closer to us out on the north end so we enjoyed it. We joined the VIP(Very Important Pickle) club and got freebies for our birthdays and all that. We were regular customers. Our loyalty was shaken a couple of years ago when we started getting fraudulent charges on our credit card that tracked back to their store(honestly I don’t remember how). Technically I think the problem was with the company that handles their credit card transactions, but at the time the management seemed pretty uninterested in the troubles they caused. We stopped using credit card there, and since we use credit cards for everything, our patronage dropped. The past few times we’ve been there, I’ve noticed the place going downhill. I hate to say that as we have for the most part been happy to see them in the area, but something definitely changed. The staff seems a little less friendly, maintenance seems lax(damage to the walls and such), and now it never seems clean. The floor is sticky with spilled drinks and even though there may only be two occupied tables, many of the tables need to be cleared and cleaned. And the menu… the sandwich was OK, but it was not the same. It used to be so good! Now it’s a little above meh. It’s definitely not the crisp new place we once liked to visit every few weeks. Tonight we went there because we couldn’t decide where else to go. We were the only people there at about 8PM. The open sign wasn’t on and the cashier was changing out the garbage, so we weren’t sure if they were open. But they were, so we stayed. Cashier never smiled, barely said a word to us. I felt a little like maybe we should have moved on. We ordered — $ 22 for 2 adults and a child. I stepped through the sticky floor in front of the soda machine to get to the tea machine, and while I was filling up, I noticed a roach crawling across the counter. UGH. Took a pic, so I’ll include that in the list. Immediately thought of Unilocal, lol. I don’t know if we’ll be going back. This place just gets a little worse every time we go. Was sad to see Taco Real closed next door, but like another reviewer said, I think this place will follow at some point.

This used to be an ok place to go, even though their prices were always way too high. What appealed to me was the«build your own» menu for the sandwiches. But now they have changed their menu and that option has been eliminated. The menu is very stripped down to the essentials, sandwiches, panini’s soups and pizza, but the choices are limited on all those. I was looking forward to building my own with the spicy turkey and bacon but that option was not there at all. What I got I did not finish, it had some awful green mayo or whatever on it. The pizza is even worse. won’t be coming back. Taco Real closed a few door down, I’d say its a matter of time before this space is vacant as well. Hopefully something better will come along, this area is too popular to not have good lunch spots.

Went to Spicy Pickle today because I was starving… never been there before. So I decided to give it a try. After looking at the over head menu. I made my selection and waited for my soup and sandwich that I had ordered. After paying 9 dollars plus giving the cashier a 2 dollar tip… my bill was 11 bucks. When I received my food, I quickly looked at the sandwich and asked the server«Is that it?» Which he replied… yes it is. Honestly… the food was decent, not great tasting., the portion was tiny… like a quarter what you would get elsewhere. The bowl of soup was a tad bit over what I would call a small serving. Disappointing to say the least. I think I will stick to Firehouse Subs… you get a ton more food, it tastes great plus they give a military discount for my military service.

I was really excited to find this place online, as it seemed they had all kinds of delicious ingredients on their sandwiches, and might be a bit on the healthy side compared to other places. I mean, just read through their menu and it sounds amazing! Then I bit into my wise guy… and was overwhelmed with a yearning for flavor. The pepers were mild, the salami was bland, and the mayo lacked any kick. My wife got the gobler, and even though it visibly had seasoning on it, I had to add peper to bring it to life! All I can say is management needs to work on several things… 1. Getting the stoners who work there to wake up a bit. 2. Adding some kick to the menu(review the ingredients) 3. Getting some energy in their house… cause this place is dying the slow death and it’s obvious. Good luck Spicy Pickle! The last 3 places I reviewed in this manner did indeed close. Remember, management must work to improve process and product… or they lose their job. Maybe ya’ll come from corporate america where laziness is rewarded, but small business’ do not reward hands off behavior. SOMADATYOURBLANDSANDWICHES! WASSOOOOEXCITED!

In a pickle? Get a pickle instead. The spicy pickle is pretty awesome if you are a pickle type. Oh, they also served sandwiches, salads, and pizzas. I’ve been on multiple occasions and have enjoyed the classic roast beef sandwich and adobo panini. The ½ sandwich and ½ soup is a good deal. Most recently, I tried the santorini pizzetti. The pizza was not very good. The toppings were of good quality, but I like my crust to be stone baked. The service is quick, although they really need to train the employees better. When I was there yesterday, a lot of the food sat on the counter and there was some confusion about which orders went where. If you are rushed on time and want a solid sandwich, this is a great place to go.

They recently revamped their menu to be more inclusive — it already seemed like a bargain and now you get much more. I like the Adobe(Southwesternish, Turkey, Corn Salsa on a Panini)

Tickled by the Spicy Pickle. Ok, let me catch my breath for a moment,… just thinking about this makes my mouth water, and my body tingle. Oh Mr. pickle, let me count the ways. 1)” Fresh”,(now get your mind out of the gutter) Very fresh and crisp veggies. 2) Taste,. such a great blend of mouth watering flavors. The Bandido, is the one whom Im talking about. This Turkey Panini, had me addicted at first bite! 3) And to add a Cherry on top, the place was Clean, and gave Great customer service. Now, if only we had AA for my new addiction to the pickle, the Spicy Pickle!

This one starts with the service. Absolutely outstanding customer service. It’s been a while since I have been in a place where they truly do want you to enjoy your food and overall experience. The Englishman(the sandwich not the guy) is my absolute favorite. it’s like a meat and veggie explosion in your mouth. My bff really really wanted a Ruben when we stopped in here, which they don’t have. The closest thing would be the Bronx. The Manager assured him he would love it or they would make him something else. Although he «liked it» but didn’t love it we had a few staff stop by our table to see what he thought and to assure him they would make something else if he didn’t. He actually liked my Englishman much more but I wasn’t in a sharing mood. I love this place and hope they stick around at the 1890 Ranch for a long time.

Yes, the pickle is spicy. And yes, that was corn on my sandwich. It was surprising and delicious. The sandwiches here are not your run-of-the-mill variety, they are a little more unusual but tasty all the same. If you’re looking for a turkey and Swiss or ham and cheddar, this is not your stop. I’ve tried this location once and one other location before this. The quality of the food is good. The bread was fresh and tasty. There is plenty going on in the sandwich so that the bread doesn’t take over. On my most recent visit, I ordered the adobe. I chose this one because it was closest to my food comfort zone with turkey and avocado, and I didn’t mind a venture into trying the corn relish and chipotle mayo that were also included. It was so pleasantly surprising. All the flavors came together nicely and nothing overpowered. The staff were patient and friendly. There were not many people working there but it was enough because they were attentive. There was a lady who just seemed to be doing whatever needed doing whether it was taking out orders, giving napkins, or cleaning tables. The soda machine was out of commission but they seemed to be compensating as well as possible by offering cold cans of soda. All in all, it was a very positive experience and I look forward to returning and sampling something new and again, just out of my food comfort zone!

M husband and I both had salads and I’m giving this place 4 stars for freshness, friendliness, cleanliness and affordability. Also cause romaine lettuce is my favorite and its hard to find something not Caesar that has romaine without that disgusting iceberg, yuk! I had the tex mex type salad(can’t remember what they call it) with chicken. My husband had the Caesar with chicken. The chicken made the salads. It had those yummy southern herbs and spices similar to what they use on their chicken at Madeline’s. We’ll definitely go back again. Don’t know how the sandwiches are. We’ll definitely go back!

I came to the pickle for dinner for the first time and was greeted cordially by the staff. I ordered a large spinach salad and an apple Izze(which I didn’t even know existed!) It arrived promptly and tried each component individually. The ingredients were sooooo fresh. Finally a salad with walnuts that taste like nuts and not a lollipop. Mellow 70’s rock in the speakers was a nice touch too. I only wish I got more change back from my $ 10.00, but I figure any less and I might get lesser ingredients.

Thinking of something fast, fulfilling and easy to eat on our way to big D for the Red River Rivalry, Spicy Pickle came to mind. We got us a couple of Gobbler Panini’s. It’s toasted Panini bread with Sausalito turkey with artichoke hearts, feta cheese and sun dried tomato mayonnaise. I didn’t even need the pickle with my sandwich! If you love pickles and spicy food this is your choice.
Love that sweet green tea too. Creamy tomato soup corn & green chili bisque is also very tasty, so is the chicken noodle soup. The soup came with a piece of French bread(not crackle). Good stuff.

I make a mean sammich! I know this cause I built my own here yesterday and it was damn tasty. Mesquite turkey and provolone with basil mayo, roasted red peppers, spinach and spicy pickles on honey wheat ciabatta. The basil mayo was THE shizznit. In fact, they should call this place The Basil Mayo(sorry pickles!). I know that the key to a great sammich is fresh ingredients and this place is full of em! If you are like me and get overwhelmed with options(yikes! the pressure when people are waiting behind you!), then my advice is to check out the webbie and get a gameplan before you go. They do have a bunch of pre-designed varieties as well as soups, salads, and pizzas(gotta try one next time), but I love the power of creating my own concoction. If I hadn’t a been so lost I woulda put some portabellos and some red onions on there as well. Yeah, I’m crazy like that! If you are hankering for something cold and refreshing, they serve several varieties of tea and free refills(hint: get the small drink and keep fillin it up!). The only complaint I have is the limited bread selection. I’ve had the panini before and remember it as being dry, so this time I went with the ciabatta and while really yummy, damn there was a lot of bread! I ended up taking the top half off. If you are carb-concious, you will cringe. Apparently they have other kinds for their premades but not for the build your own(I was perusing the website for you). If they offered whole grain I would be in health food heaven!
