Scott & White Healthcare Round Rock

Was in the ER for a Kidney Stone. The wait was not bad. The nurses were great. Came in and got blood almost right way. Talked to a doctor with in the firstv20 min of walking in. With in the first hour I had my CT done. We just had to wait for the results. When we fot them the doctor was very informative and answered all our questions. The only thing that would have been nice is when after my CT scan I was so hungry and asked for something to eat. Having some food other then crackers and juice would have been nice.

Scott and White billing is unjust.
I had the great misfortune of choosing an allergy doctor clinic at SW. I was charged a total of $ 704.48 for one visit. I was charged TWICE. One bill was from the facility and one bill was from the doctor. The facility charge went towards my deductible, not a copay since they would not code the office visit as an office visit. The doctor’s charge went toward my coinsurance and not a copay again because they would not code as an office visit.
If I had chosen any other doctor not affiliated with SW, they would have simply charged me one copay and I would not be out $ 700.
I like the doctor, but I will not be able to make a return visit. I cannot afford Scott and White.

They will charge you facility fees!!! This is on top of your co-​pay! They NEVER sent a letter to warn me of this fee or tell me when I walked into my appointment. I found out when I came in for a follow up visit I had a balance due from my previous appointment. I thought this would be a one time charge, but you will get billed additionally EVERY time you use their «facilities». I’m leaving S&W because their tactics are deliberately deceiving.

I wish I could give –5 stars, actually, I wish I could give –100 000 000 stars.
So I take my daughter in for a standard doctor appointment, just like every other doctor appointment she’s had in her life or I’ve had in mine. Everything seems normal, standard, just like every other office I’ve ever been to. We see the doctor for 5 minutes. We leave.
A month later I get a bill for $ 70 (originally $ 185 but reduced by my insurance company). What’s this? A bill? I have amazing health insurance and I understand every detail of it, because I’m a little OCD that way. So I call my insurance company. Turns out that Scott & White charged my average, run-​of-​the-​mill visit as a hospital outpatient visit. Hmm, this is curious, so I call Scott & White.
Turns out I’m paying $ 70 for the privilege of seeing a doctor in their building. Turns out they charge EVERYTHING as an outpatient or inpatient hospital stay. Funny, no one ever mentioned this to me. I went back to their website, the facility’s webpage, the doctor’s webpage, and looked at the forms I filled out before going in… nothing. Doesn’t say a word about this strange billing system.
Long story short, I spend an hour on the phone with their billing department and a supervisor. He informs me that this is their policy, there is nothing that can be done, and that it’s unfortunate that the office staff didn’t inform me of this policy when I checked in. So guess what? I got the privilege of paying Scott & White $ 70!!! Turns out, it was my responsibility to ask. I questioned the supervisor if from now on I need to ask if a monkey will be my physician, because I would never suspect that I would need to inquire about that either. He chuckled by-​the-​way.
Thinking maybe I was just the chump who missed something, I started doing some searches online. Turns out there has actually been news coverage about this on the Channel 25, and there are a lot of really angry consumers who complain about the same exact thing. Scott & White has lost my business. As much as I would love to say thanks to Scott & White in my own special way, I will refrain so my review isn’t banished.
