Moonie’s Burger House

We just moved to the area and came here out of recommendation from neighbors. And man, this place does not disappoint!
We’ve been here several times now. From the burgers to the fries to the milkshakes — this place is delicious. We will definitely be long term customers and can’t wait to bring visiting family here.
I absolutely love the atmosphere, the staff, everything. Everyone is so nice, and they know us by name now! If you haven’t gone here yet, you are truly missing out!

This place is meant for when you haven’t ate all day. You have to eat here on a empty stomach, otherwise you won’t finish anything. Great thick burgers and a ton of fries.

Wife and I have been there several times. It feels like one of those old-​school local family-​oriented burger places.
Overall:
Staff = very nice.
Food = good quality
Last time we were there, my vegetarian wife accidentally ordered a beef patty rather than a veggie one. When she went up to reorder, the cashier took it upon herself to ask the manager to remake my wife’s order free of charge. They even came by afterwards to make sure she was happy. For something that was not their mistake, they were very accommodating.
Definitely made us happy, repeat customers.

Excellent burgers! Hand formed not frozen! A well crafted burger all the way down to the bun. Even the buns are amazing! In terms of a «great burger» these are hard to beat! The only reason they’re getting 4 stars is because of the fries, although they were tasty they were certainly reminiscent of frozen fries that you buy at the supermarket, I recommend instead, going for the sweet potato fries because they have more of a real flavor to them. I will certainly be going back to get another one of those delicious burgers! Also you can have a beer with that burger and that puts the icing on the cake!

Best burger in town, hands down. I don’t know for certain what they put in these buns; but I suspect the secret ingredient is crack. Their fries and onion rings are delicious as well.
Comfortable atmosphere and reasonable prices.
*I have visited 2 other moonies locations– one in Pflugerville and one in Austin; and for I’m not sure why it is, but this location is definitely the best.

Burgers tasted great. Onion rings and sweet potatoes fries were good. Definitely coming back. Very spacious and great for groups too. They have a little corner with arcade and train set for kids to play with. Kids played while we ate, heaven.

I’ve lived in the greater Austin area my whole life and I continue to try to find a better burger than Moonie’s, but I just can’t. The meat, the buns, the toppings, it’s just the best combo out there. And, both types of fries are STILL my favorite, too. If you’re looking for the best burger in the metro, try this place, you won’t be disappointed:)

I don’t remember this burger place being extremely significant to the others. I like that the place is very laid back and normally not to busy, very country & cute. The lady who took our order had a very thick accent, made it enjoyable. I would still eat here if I was out of options :)

The burger craze is not always what it’s cracked up to be. I went to this location because they advertised «voted best burger in cedar park». Yes they are better than the traditional wattaburger or burger stop, but I can’t say their burgers left me craving more. On a scale of 1 – 10 (10 being best) I would give them a 7.
The restaurant was clean, but nothing fancy. The prices were high for the quality. My fries were served barely warm.
Overall, I would suggest trying other burger joints before this one.

If my mouth wasn’t full of deliciousness I’d say“eat at Moonie’s!” The service was good, the salad and Plain Jane was yumalicious! I’m coming back again.

I got the Western burger the first time I came here. Literally one of the best burgers I’ve had in Austin. I just could not put it down! The fries are amazing too, but it’s a little disappointing that condiments like Ranch cost extra (and you only get a tiny cup of it). Everyone was super cool and nice though. Definitely worth a visit.
I would give it 5 stars, but I gave it four because of my last visit.
The ladies bathroom was discussing! The toilet seat was broken and everything looked so old and dirty.
Great place, but not if you have to pee.

The owner Stuart took our order and he was awesome! Very kind and great smile. Had a delicious Swiss & Mushroom burger. My date and I shared an order of onion rings and sweet potato fries. Best onion rings I have ever had. Stuart even came by our table and made sure we were happy. Will be back soon!

My family had lunch at Moonie’s recently. The burgers and fries were fantastic. I especially love the sweet potato fries and recommend the western burger and the California burger. The service was great, and the person who took my order was very cooperative about accommodating special requests due to allergies. Overall, it was a great meal.
So why is this a four star review instead of a five star review? I have two areas of concern where I think Moonie’s could make improvements.
First, every time that we have eaten lunch there, we have ordered a meal from the children’s menu and it has come out way too hot even for an adult to eat. This results in an unhappy and hungry little one who is likely to be disruptive to other patrons. It would be great if the children’s plates weren’t served straight from the fryer.
Second, there is no changing table in the men’s restroom. This would be a small and inexpensive addition that would make a huge impact for patrons with babies and toddlers.
Overall, I love this restaurant and will continue to eat here. I just might not order from the children’s menu for a few more years.

Time for a Moonie’s update.
I am upgrading my review to 5 stars because they now carry Gluten-​free buns! And chips and queso! Burgers, fries & snow cones are still the best. This is my favorite burger place in Cedar Park

Great burgers and friendly staff.
Our kids especially enjoyed the free snowcones with their meal.

I don’t like burger places that Chipotle-​fy the menu and leave it to me as to what I want on my burger (because that ends up merely arranging ingredients between two buns instead of COOKING them).
Thankfully, Moonies IS NOT LIKE that! They actually have themed burgers that are cooked to perfection!
Buffalo burger is flavorful, fries are great too. Prices reasonable and more importantly a burger joint that actually hits the spot.
My wife and I are fans!

I went for the Turkey Plain Jane & enjoyed it.
To save money I would keep the regular red onions and not add grilled since they do charge for everything you add. Also, the fry portion is huge! I’d split that next time with someone. Crispy fries were great. Sweet Potato weren’t the best ever but good. I like that they have 3 dipping sauces to choose from:
Ranch, Chipotle Ranch & Blue Cheese.
I wish I found out about Moonies sooner! Considering the flavor of the fries, Choices for fountain drinks & fact that they offer veggie and chicken patties?
I would have chosen moonies over a place like Pterrys any day!

Truly the best burgers around. So delicious, fresh, & hot. Onion rings are ah-​mazing and made to order! Staff is beyond awesome and friendly so, what more could you ask for? Definitely in my top 5 of places to eat!

Have been avoiding the Old 183(Bell Blvd.) corridor like the plague but kept hearing Moonie’s had great burgers and hadn’t been for probably a decade or more so… here we are!
Clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff very attentive and accommodating. Order at counter but can preview the menu when you come in. They have about a dozen burger suggestions/​combinations. They all sounded pretty appealing. Traditional sides of onion rings, battered fries and sweet potato fries and a reasonable children’s menu. My dining partner likes his burger simple and that’s what he ordered. I was fascinated by the combination of ingredients on the burger. it was their BOM (Burger of the Month) but it’s now full time due to the popularity. When you think about the chunky peanut sauce, teriyaki-​glazed pineapple and grilled jalapenos, fresh cilantro and a sriracha kick– well I had to give it a whirl. (sans cilantro for me). I was glad I did– unique nutty Asian flavor with great burger taste on the soft buttery bun and then slide in the heat with the jalapeño and sriracha– I really liked it.
The sweet potato fries were also good– not as crisp perhaps but good fresh sweet potato flavor.
The dining partner got his burger exactly as ordered. He felt it was a little dry so labeled it ok vs great. (I challenged him in that if you don’t eat it with sauce of some kind it may not be the most moist but I realize the meat was probably over cooked.)
Overall it was a really good experience especially when you add in the excellent customer service.
We will be back! I plan to work my way down that list!

Yummy! Some of the best burgers anywhere! Several menu choices with tons of add-​ons like bacon, avacodo, jalapeño, grilled onions and more. Fries are crispy & delicious! We paid $ 35 for 3 burgers & fries meals. Always clean and employees are friendly.
Snow cones are FREE for everyone!
