Great wings, sliders, and beer selection! I’ve been a few times now and the food has been consistently satisfying. The service is great too! The live music was also pretty solid once when I came in on Saturday.

I am a relatively new customer. Have had an excellent experience on a few weekday afternoons. Went in today(Sunday), was never even acknowledged as being present or offered service for 20+ minutes. Tried several times to get the bartender’s attention, but he was too engaged with the regulars he knew. Finally, just walked out. Exact opposite of my weekday experience, where I am immediately greeted by name and offered instant service.

Love sunset. Great Asian food. Wings are great. We always get fries and sop up the leftover wing sauce. Great staff and plenty of draft on tap. Glad I live close enough to walk home.

I could give it a five but it’s more a 4.5 than a 5.0. Service is OK but spotty. But the food is kind of incredible for sports bar fare. I’ll be back.

Horrible people run this place. I was charged 3 times for the same amount and the dumb owner won’t help fix it. She refuses to let me send her the proof and wants me to drive up there. I also found out that they have charging extra drinks to a guys ticket. She has no idea how to run a business with out cheating people.

We absolutely positively love this place!!! This is a very laid back, casual, comfortable and friendly establishment. We come here often because of the people, the location, the prices, and has become our home away from home when we have time to get out and about. The owners are awesome, the bartenders are fantastic and very friendly, and the food is really good too! We love this place and we will continue to come here and recommend it to our friends and family! :-)

Sunset is a great neighborhood bar. Small enough to feel personal, but still able to spread out and be comfortable. Goose, the bartender, is super knowledgeable and great at finding new favorites. He really knows what he’s talking about! Outdoor patio is nice, relaxing environment.

Wow. We walked in and the bar tender didn’t acknowledge us, as he was engaged in conversation. Unfortunately there were only 6 people in the place… So that is unacceptable. My BF asked if the guy worked there & had to ask for a menu… Doesn’t seem like they wanted any business. We walked out abruptly, with intention, and followed by silence and blank stares. We’ll never entertain returning here. Customer service sucks… It doesn’t exist.

We stopped by here on our way out from a meeting at the coffee place in the same center. Pleasantly surprised by the prices and the food. *We missed Happy Hour by 30 minutes, but drinks were still reasonable!* Nice atmosphere inside and NOT smoky! Loved the bartender and the steamed dumplings! Plan to stay longer next time. :)

Oops, it has been two years since I visited The Sunset Grill. So I will catch up on this review. We decide to try a local place to see if it would become our new local hangout. When first walking in from the evening sun, the bar area seemed very dark. Once your eyes become accustom, it brightens a little. The place appeared to be empty except for the bartender and a waitress. This would soon change. The waitress came over to ask if she could help us. After telling her it was our first time here, she suggested we sit on the patio. Glad we did. The weather was perfect and we had a choice of tables. We ordered up drinks, margarita and dirty martini. Perusing the menu, we found a few items that caught our eye. When the friendly waitress(Wish I could remember her name.) brought our drinks, we ordered 3 appetizers. Corn Fritters, Shrimp Diablo, and steamed dumplings were our choices. From memory, I recall all the food was surprisingly good. Unfortunately most were deep fried and served with a sauce mainly composed of mayo. Not that this is a bad thing, but my stomach paid for it later. No regrets. Soon the regulars started piling in. One asked how we found out about this place, as soon as I said Unilocal, they talked about being called Grackles. So Thanks for that one Keri. It turned out all good in the end. Before we knew it, some of the regulars pulled up chairs at our table and started talking to us. We ended up staying for an hour more than we expected. We had a great time.

Meh is about the best I can say. Walked in and sat at a table that wobbled terribly. Moved over to another that was just a little better. The waitress never came over so my girlfriend went to the bar and asked for service. We order nachos which were okay for a bar. Both our glasses sat empty for a while. Then we ordered the pulled pork sliders which tasted like dog food and the fries were dripping with grease. I live and work less than a mile from this place and won’t go back. If you’re just going to grab a quick drink it would be okay.

Tonight we only ordered off the appetizer menu — potstickers, fried pickles, bacon wrapped shrimp and the BEST hot wings we’ve had ever! Great options for happy hour(as well as after happy hour deals). Service was amazing — we’ll be back! Thanks Natalie!

Live music on Fridays. Great schedule of events each night. Happy hour until 7 and it’s all day on Sunday. Staff is very friendly and experienced(yes, they are women, please don’t hit on them unless they initiative it). The place offers Texas spirits get a big discount during happy hours. Local drafts are only $ 2 during those times. There are several wines they serve that have proceeds that go towards good causes like animal shelters and human needs. Natalie, I believe that is the manager, believes in giving back. I don’t see any really obnoxious people here. Looks like your expected nice cedar park people. Next time I come I will try out the darts, basketball game, and gold arcade.

Okay so here is the deal its a friendly neighborhood bar. It’s one of those places where many of the customers know each other and everyone is just looking to enjoy themselves. The food is tasty and the staff is friendly. I tried the chicken potstickers(fried) and I was really happy I did. They are very well made, crispy exterior yet moist & tender chicken inside. Another thing it’s not a hole in the wall. This place is casual but a bit more upper scale, then some of the other bars in the area.

This place is caz. u. well. It really belongs on a pier by the lake or out on HWY71, not in a shopping center, what with it’s staff in cut-off shorts and BRIGHT blue eye shadow, it’s playlist of what I would call Biker Rock(Clapton, Lynyrd, and Foghat), and it’s loud, smokey group of what appears to be regular customers. Hubby and I thought we’d check it out on a pleasant Friday evening. We wanted a drink and a place to unwind. Um. Yeah. Very little unwinding here. We picked a deserted area on the patio and spent about 10 minutes wondering if there was waitstaff before going in to the bar to order drinks. The waitstaff showed up a few minutes later, very friendly, introducing themselves and explaining that they all wait tables together. The group of regulars began to trickle in as well and perched at the two tables behind us, eventually, literally crowding us on an otherwise empty patio. I was simultaneously jealous, wanting to be in a group of rowdy friends, and annoyed by the raucous laughter and smoking. Annoyed finally won out and we decided to go buy our own booze at the liquor store and go home. But before that happened, we perused the menu. Hubby was thrilled to find fried chicken livers which he devoured happily(by. himself. ewwww) and I ordered the Korean dumplings which were listed as fried on the menu but the waiter also offered them up steamed, and being on a, ahem, diet, I ordered em up this way. Their presentation was very pretty actually(see pic) and they were tasty and served with a great soyish, tangyish, spicy sauce. While we were eating, a pizza guy from Marco’s next door walked onto the patio and was trying to get the group of regs(they need a name… hmm…how about the Grackles) to buy it for $ 6. It was an «extra» he said. The Grackles all seemed to know this guy too and joked and laughed around with him for about 10 minutes before he walked INSIDE. The restaurant. To try to sell his $ 6 pizza inside. Srsly, they are very friendly and neighborly here. Everyone knows everyone in this Mr Roger’s Dive. I think we would go back. I’m very curious about the other Korean offerings like bulgogi, tucked in between the typical fried seafood and burgers. We’ll just need to get into a Grackle frame of mind before we go and maybe rat my hair and put on my green eyeshadow.

We brought our kids, which we normally wouldn’t do; but since it was Sunday afternoon, the place was pretty empty. The bar is super clean –no sticky tables or bad smells. This is a great neighborhood bar, where you can sit leisurely, have some beers, and watch sports on the many TV screens available. They also have a free foosball tabe and darts to play while you’re waiting for your food. They have about 16 well-chosen beers on tap. There is something for everyone – from the mass produced Bud to craft beers from Austin and around the country and beyond. If you’re not a beer drinker, they have Crispin Cider and a small selection of wines to choose from. The bartender/waitress was superb! Can’t decide on a beer, ask for a sample. My favorites were Shock Top, Austin Amber and Smithwick’s. The food is mostly what you would expect at a pub, except with a few Korean inspired dishes. The Korean food is not what I would consider authentic, however, it’s very tasty and a great pairing with beer. We ordered the Yakimandu(Korean dumplings). It was deep-fried to perfection! The wrapper was crispy and the interior was stuffed with tender meat and onions. The accompanying sauce was also tasty. If you like wet wings, try them here! Wings are deep fried then smothered in a spicy, but not too spicy, Kochuchan(Korean red pepper paste) and hot sauce mixture! I wanted to lick my plate. The bulgogi sandwich reminds me loosely of a French dip type sandwich. The sandwich is overstuffed with bulgogi meat with the chewy French bread absorbing the juices. I would usually complain that the meat is too sweet; however, the sweetness really works with the bitterness of the beer. We also ordered a kids burger meal. The burger was huge and cooked to a nice medium, but pretty average. The shoestring fries were nicely fried, but pretty average as well. I can see that this place can probably get noisy during nights with live music, but they have a pretty nice patio outside. Also, they can work on getting food out better. We did receive each dish at different times; however, it’s a new establishment so they’ll have to work out these kinks. Before I end this review, I wanted to commend this establishment on their awesome customer service. My son stubbed his toe on the door(his own fault) and the owner came out with alcohol, neosporin and bandages in hand, gently washed and dressed my son’s bloody toe as though he were family. He really made my son look and feel better. This is the kind of customer service that will win my patronage for life.

As I searched for Sunset Bar & Grill I realized it is in the same location where the former Taps, Tap Room and Caddyshack’s previously was. Caddyshack’s was loud, smokey, no wine and had mediocre food at best. Well there is no longer smoke lingering in the air. They layout, décor, etc is exactly the same as Caddyshack’s was. They have also retained the same employees. I grabbed a seat and was pleased to see a wine small wine list that had 3 reds. I was greeted by Kristin and ordered a glass of Gascon malbec. She returns and informs me they are out. So I order another red, once again she returns to inform me they are out. But this time she brings a taster of the red they do have. They have a good number of beers on tap but the only Texas beers they pour is Austin Amber and Fireman’s 4. The appetizer menu has an array of items such as fried gizzards, corn nuggets, bacon wrapped shrimp and crab Rangoon. I put in an order of the crab Rangoon and once again am informed they are out. The rest of the menu consists of sandwiches, burgers, seafood and a small section of Asian food. We ordered a blackened shrimp salad and a BLT with fries. The BLT came out first with the explanation that they have one small grill to cook so they couldn’t prepare the bacon and the shrimp at the same time. OK, no biggy but what if we walked in with a table of 8? Would all the orders be served 10 – 15 minute apart from each other? The BLT was served club style and had to much mayonnaise oozing out. The fries were limp and greasy, so greasy that the flavor didn’t have a hint of potato to it but instead only grease. The salad came out about 10 minutes after the BLT. The waitress informed me that the shrimp were grilled instead of blackened, and asked if I wanted to send it back? Well I am not one to waste food so I said I would just take it as is. I would guess that when this happens in most places that serve food the protocol would be to just ‘fix it” without asking the customer«hey we made it wrong, do you still want it?». The shrimp had no seasonings and were chewy. The vegetables were fresh and crisp but overall the salad was basic and boring. The second star is for getting rid of the smoke and the pleasant people that work here.
