I used to love this place, but the last couple of times I have been here, the food just doesnt taste the same, maybe the little ladie that does the cooking needs to retire.

SAVEYOURSELF. So tonight my in laws decided to take my boys and I to dinner. Our waitress was nice until… I ordered the tamale dinner and it was a NIGHTMARE. It tasted overcooked & hard. Tasted old as well. When I brought this to the waitresses attention she immediately didn’t know«English» anymore so my mother in law had to translate. She was beyond RUDE!!! She had the nerve to grab my plate from my hands and eat off my plate!!! What type of professionalism is that!!! Good grief. And then has the nerve to tell me I’m lying and it tasted good. My mouth at this point is completely on the floor. So I decided to order something else. Her response. «are you sure, I don’t want to make you something and you say you don’t like it» uhhhh??? Wow. Beyond disgusted with this place! Best thing I had was Coke to drink. Beyond awful.

Ugh. 2nd time here. They microwaved my food both visits. My taco meat was bland. Their salsa on the other hand was pretty good. That’s why I gave 2 stars.

horrible service and plain food. Our waitress did not know English and barely checked up on us so it was hard enough to order food or get a refill and when I did get a chance I got an eye roll over my request. The food was horrible, no flavor what So ever. I will never go back here.

I had a dislocated shoulder when I went in for breakfast, when I sat down and picked up a fork it popped back into place, most amazing feeling ever 10⁄10 would go to fix injuries again. Also the food was pretty good.

The hot sauce here is decent, has a bite. That’s about the only positive thing I can say. I ordered the tamale plate because they sell them by the dozen and there are pictures of homemade tamales on the menu so I figured they are homemade, not so. Canned tamales perfectly round and exactly the same size smothered in sauce. Won’t be back.

What a relief!!! I grew up in San Antonio and have had PLENTY of Mexican food in my life. A few years ago my mom moved to Cedar Park and we’ve been searching for good tasting Mexican food. On our way to the airport after Christmas, we stopped by here for lunch and WOW!!! What a pleasant surprise! If you like real«gravy» on your enchiladas, you’ll love theirs! Queso was a tiny bit watery but had great flavor. The two sisters that were working there were especially nice and chatty with us.(They have a cute little dog too!) Salsa was delish! Give it a try.

We’re from Texas but we live in Atlanta. The best Mexican place in Atlanta just cannot compare with Camino Real. It’s real Tex Mex here. The chips are light and crispy and the salsa is super spicy. The lunch special was less than $ 7 and could have fed two. The lady who waited on us was so sweet! We just can’t understand why this place has such a low rating! We will be back!

My husband and I took our 2 boys to Camino Real in Cedar Park today only to find terrible service with even worse food. First, the old woman who«waited» on us brought my coffee out on a saucer that was also covered in coffee along with Apple juice bottles with a screw lid that clearly my 1 year old son could not drink from. After requesting a to-go box right after receiving our food because my youngest was not happy and throwing a fit we went to check out only to find a bill of $ 32 for 3 small $ 5.00 meals. When we got home to eat the food, we found her hair in our food and that some of the food was burnt and other parts undercooked. I called them back requesting my money back and offered to bring the food back up there for her to see. I drove back with the food after she said she’d reimburse me when she started cussing at me in Spanish and telling me to vaminos and that«not my problemo Its your problemo!» No apology or compensation was offered but I can confidently say we will NOT be going back there and would advise that to anyone thinking of eating their cat food! Btw one of the reasons our bill was so large was because she charged us for the to-go boxes without our knowledge!!! Who does that!!! The cost of the boxes was the same as a meal itself, talk about a huge scam and rip off!!!

Bad«EVERYTHING»!!! BAD service if you call«NO» service bad… BAD food… BAD attitude of the owner/waitress…With as many choices as we have and with Serano’s coming, I don’t expect we’ll have to concern ourselves with this place much longer… Until then, do yourself a favor and pass this one by!!!

Service was not great. Sour tea, oily eggs, soggy hash browns and the toast tasted like it was buttered with oil. The waitress did not smile and every time she filled me tea it to the top with ice. I will not go back. Not cheap for what I got. The waiters were sitting at the tables playing on their phones.

First time I have ate here, friend of mine told me to try it out. Was not impressed at all. Service was extremely slow. Food was extremely hot and over use of spices. Just really expected so much better and was really let down. I do not think I will be back

Service was so slow… was not busy at all and we had a difficult time getting our waitress’s attention. She did not check on us — we had to flag her down. I would call the food«edible and not much more.» I don’t recommend it.

Went for a late lunch today. Atmosphere is okay for a strip center. Service didn’t wow me, especially since we were one of three tables, but it was fine. But the food — not good. Not good at all… I had grilled chicken with mole. The mole sauce lacked flavor, was extremely runny, and had ridiculous amounts of grease pooled in it everywhere. Yuck. My son had chicken with verde sauce and he said his was good. But then again, he likes Mc Donald’s. The menu was very large. That to me is usually a bad sign. In this case, it was so.

This is nothing compared to the Camino Real on Spicewood Springs. We were so excited to have a coupon and try a new place that we completely missed the sign at the door telling us they were starting Tejano karaōke right at the exact moment we were to be seated. Between the blaring music and the 7-year-old’s karaōke singing, we ate and left as fast as we could. We literally had to shout to each other across the booth because the volume was so high. We didn’t get the full discount of the coupon because my husband ordered a taco salad with beef fajita meat(the coupon says not applicable on fajitas…). I got a combination platter. Both meals are what we normally order at the Spicewood Springs location, but overall neither meal was as good, the service wasn’t as good, and the ambiance was awful.

This is a Mexican food restaurant you can take your 7 year old to because the food is so bland. It’s like they took a good idea and toned it way down for the Cedar Park clientele.

There were a lot of big buts in here Sunday evening. Even tho we found the food pretty decent, I discovered myself saying the«b» word often. «Hmm, this salsa has great flavor and a nice burn to it BUT it needs salt.» «Our waitress seems nice, BUT I wish she’d brought water out with this spicy salsa that I just oversalted.» «This mexican martini tastes pretty good BUT it needs more tequila.» «Sure would like to order a combo of chicken and beef fajitas, BUT they don’t allow it.»(btw, wtf? when have you ever been denied a combo fajita?) «There’s a lot of guacamole, BUT it tastes too much like lime juice.» «Yum! The fajita beef is delicious, BUT we could really use more cheese and pico…» «Wow, the charro beans have a great smokey bacon flavor, BUT they need a LOT of salt AND I wish I didn’t have to eat them with a fork.»(to their credit, I didn’t even say that last part out loud, but a nice owner? lady intuited our need and brought us some spoons) «Wish I’d burned all those empty Tex-Mex calories at Los Reyes or Texican, BUT I just had to check out the new place for Unilocalsearch.» Yup, there were a lot of big buts there, BUT my butt will be gettin bigger somewhere else most likely.

Breakfast review only: Good HOMEMADE tortillas, ok chorizo…$ 5.99. It’s going to be tough to pull me away from J&J’s or Tapatia’s breakfast, at about half the price, but the food was good and the people were very nice.

Let me begin by saying the restaurant is brand new. Every new place has its share of hiccups and areas for improvement. The good: 1. The service was great, and the wait staff was courteous and attentive, although there was a bit of a English/Spanish language barrier. 2. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are good for the money. The areas for improvement: 1. The food was plain and lackluster. Chips were Santitas from a bag, the salsa tasted very similar to Pace. 2. Shrimp in my wife’s shrimp enchiladas were small and tough, probably from being cooked once separately and then again when stuffed into the enchiladas during prep. 3. My veggie enchiladas were smothered in a canned chile verde sauce, and contained a small amount of frozen spinach and mushrooms from a jar/can. Perhaps they will work out the kinks and up the quality somewhat once they get established. Problem is, there is zero excuse for substandard Mexican anywhere in the Austin area.
