Today was first visit for breakfast(brunch). As a Mexican, I do have high expectations for restaurants that claim to be Mexican or in this case«Ameri-Mex». You always know a good Mexican restaurant by two major things… Chips & salsa and tortillas. We were not offered chips & salsa nor was it mentioned that we could have it as a small appetizer. So … Tortillas are store bought so bad quality…. Now comes the meals… We ordered migas which is suppose to have pieces of tortillas which some egg. It was basically an omelette with little to none tortilla Beans were lukewarm People were nice and that’s why I gave it 2 stars. I won’t be returning.

We love the salsa that comes to your table in your own pour bottle. We have had the Mexican food; but we come for the amazing catfish special currently Thursday — Sunday $ 7.99 all day long. Five generally meaty catfish fillets served with two hushpuppies and two onion rings, you get your choice of coleslaw or salad and fries or baked potato. A bargain! and the fish are always good. The tartar sauce is unfortunately just so so — it could use more pickle; but it doesn’t mar the experience. Service is good. Ordinary café seating and surroundings.

This really is a good cheap place to eat. There aren’t many places where you can get two huge meals and chips and salsa for under 20 dollars total. I have been here a couple of times and I’ve found the Mexican food to be the best, they might have up to 3 specials going on at the same time, usually 2 are Mexican food and the other is American style food. I love the Mexican specials but I’ve never really been a huge fan of the Chicken Fried Steak or pork chop

If you are STARVING and on a low budget, this is definitely the place to go! They have daily specials that are great for the portions that you get(huge portions). The Saturday specials consist of: Chicken Fried Steak, Pork Chops, or Salisbury Steak with you choice of 3 sides. All for…$ 6.25!!! I usually get the chicken fried steak, but today I felt adventurous and got the tortilla soup. I was very pleased with my choice. I got a huge bowl of warm soup filled with chunks of tomato, onion, chicken, cheese, tortilla strips and avocado. It was well worth the 5.50 I spent(I told you the prices were on point!). We like to come with the kids on Saturdays, because they eat free with an adult entrée during the lunch hours.

4 stars only because they miss quoted the catfish sunday special of $ 7.75 when it clearly had it listed on the side of the building. The fish fries and hush puppies were flavorful and hot. Worth the price but the special would have been better. Will be back again

Came here today for the catfish special they have going on Fridays & Saturdays. To me it was really good taste wise and price wise. $ 7.25 for amount of food you get is so worth it. I’ll post a pic so yall can see it. They serve Mexican & American food here and I hear some kick ass breakfasts. Which by the way you can get all day long! Only downside about that, no grits or biscuits after 10:30 am. Chips and salsa I enjoyed as well. I’ve been to the Desoto location number of times, but it’s my 1st time here. O one other thing, no beer or margarita’s at this location either.

We’ve been driving by forever to go to another place for breakfast. Suddenly noticed Cancuns is open for breakfast. Second weekend in a row we went here. Great breakfast and service. Price is good too. Haven’t done lunch or dinner but highly recommend for breakfast.
