After moving to verona 6 months ago, Giuseppe’s has become our go-to pizzeria and take out destination. We enjoy their speciality slices but I have become a super fan of the roasted vegetable salad! It is fresh and the veggies are always roasted nicely. Other items I’ve tasted are the calamari(could have been a tad crispier but they were still tasty and not greasy) and the Cali cheesesteak(really good; I recommend!). Delivery is also always timing. I am happy to have this place just a quick phone call away!

Pizza good, however owner has no clue how to run. He lets the young kids do what they want. He doesn’t watch them or correct them. They handle money right in front of you, credit cards, etc., then touch your pizza to cut, put into oven and take out of oven. They also eat, then put their hands on your food. There is no hand washing at all between the dirty money and putting their hands on your food. Seen kid blow nose, cough into hands, then put hands directly on food. When busy, they can’t handle. No one answering phones, bill incorrectly then when the delivery young kid gets to your house, he has no idea how to handle the problem. Too bad because their pizza is good, but not worth getting a food born disease over. Unfortunately, not an uncommon problem in the pizza industry. Wake up owner! Teach your workers to wash their hands before they touch food. Enforce this. That is the law. Board of health, where are you?

This place is awesome! Not only that their food is fresh and great taste but they make whatever you desire! I call them and tell them what I feel like eating and they put it together for you, no food desire is too challenging for them! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

The gourmet pizza selection is awesome… The buffalo chicken blue cheese slice, the white slice, the penne vodka slice, the cheesesteak slice, the veggie slice, and on and on… The pizza is tasty! I’m not a huge fan of the dish selections(dining menu). I’m my opinion, this is more of a pizza joint than an Italian restaurant. The spanish guys behind the counter are a bit intense and seem angry more often than not, but good dudes and courteous.

After waiting an hour and a half for a pizza delivery. I called up and asked for the manager looking for our pizza. He apologized and told me to only pay 12.00. Delivery person called and told me he got lost. How ridiculous we are in cedar grove a very small town. He finally gets to my door and asks me for 18.99. When I told him that I had spoken to the manager and said only to pay 12.00. He started freaking out telling me that he didn’t believe me and took the pizza back and left. I was so shocked. I cannot believe the unprofessionalism of this place. He must of gotten a call from his manager and decided to come back to deliver the pie. The only reason I accepted the delivery was because my kid was starving. Pizza was cold and disgusting. Not worth the wait or aggravation. Never order from this place again. With All the pizza places around they have some nerve.

This place used to have good pizza. I went tonight and the piizza was absolutely terrible! It seems like it was possibly sitting there all day. The service was unfriendly and preoccupied. I haven’t gone for a while because the last time I went, several months ago, I was very uncomfortable. What seemed to me to be a group of the delivery people were chatting with the counter person as if I wasn’t there. They were cursing and talking about inappropriate things and I told myself I’d never go back but tonight I found it convenient… There’s too many better options in this area to give them your business.

i noticed they had a fancy dining area on one side — this is a review for the regular dining area. I enjoyed the pizza here — both the regular slice and the white pizza(with spinach & broccoli). Good taste, nice crust, vegetables were cooked just right. However, I had some other issues. When we first walked in, just about every table(only one table was occupied by patrons) was dirty and had crumbs all over. It made sense too as I noticed that the kids working here(there was quite a few) were mainly focused on talking to one another and didn’t seem too concerned with what was happening in the dining area. No one even said anything to us when we walked in. So they could improve a bit in that department. Additionally, DONOT order the buffalo wings here. They were some of the worst I’ve had. The texture was terrible — dry and burnt. They tasted OK on the inside, but the outside ruined it. See pic. Just come for the pizza! Some other tips: BYOB and there’s a liquor store in the little plaza down the street. Ample parking. They take credit card. They have Boylan soda!

Had some friends over and we ordered Giuseppe’s for delivery. I got the shrimp scampi and the girl to took my order asked if I wanted it with pasta or salad. I specifically asked her if the dish had pasta in it. She said yes. So I replied that as long as there’s pasta with the shrimp scampi, then I’ll get salad on the side. What’s the point of getting more pasta if there’s already pasta in the dish? She said they just give the option for more pasta or a salad. So when it came, I got my salad, but my scampi had no pasta. The scampi was literally 6 pieces of shrimp in sauce. $ 18 for 6 pieces of shrimp, everyone thought it was a rip off. I had to make my own pasta to add to the dish. After adding my own pasta, I admit the dish was delicious, but no one else cared for their dinners. So my husband threw out the take out menu.

Nice place. a good place for a quick bite. I had the garlic knots and they were delicious with the sauce. My husband had the tomato mozzarella garlic pizza and that was yummy too. Will come back.

I’ve already written a review, but I want to reiterate my love for their pie. Something about the flavor composition in the sauce makes for a really nice plain slice.

Friendly staff. Hometown feel. Great specialty slices! Cheesesteak slice is rad, ask for a side of marinara sauce, tell them Corey Six sent you.

Food is OK, but service is not reliable. Lots of young kids working there who seem to be more concerned with flirting and when they can go home… I’ve been in there several times when one person takes my order and puts a slice in the oven, only to walk away and completely forget about me — then another person takes it out, then forgets me, then yet another person rings me up and has no idea what I even ordered… it’s frustrating. It also takes FOREVER to get delivery and I live about 2 miles away or less — always close to 90 minutes no matter what they say on the phone… also frustrating. Overall the pizza is good and love the specialty options they have, price is acceptable and what you would expect… I’m local and will order from here again, so I’m giving 3 stars, but really wish the service would improve.

We often get takeout pizza(vodka sauce and chicken pesto we like but that latter is very filling). But we like the back room dining too. Usually quiet and the service will vary based on which high schooler is serving you(what would you expect?). Our last visits were fine. Very good value and good(not outstanding, not terrible) food which is what I expect from a little local place like this. I like the rollatini. Parking lot and right off Rt 23 /Pompton Ave. BYOB

Just ordered a calzone and a pie from here. The calzone did not have enough ricotta cheese or ham. The pie was smaller and thinner crusted than my previous order. The food was still good, just expected what I usually get. I think this is happening to Coincide with the groupon offers they currently have.

The reviews so far have mostly been about the pizza up front. This is a review of the restaurant in back. First of all, it speaks volumes that throughout our meal, we were the only customers in the place. Now, one might assume that since no one was there but us, that we might have the advantage of attentive service. One would be wrong. We were consistently IGNORED throughout our meal, which consisted of one appetizer and one entrée for each of us. The first 20 minutes was wasted waiting for our order to be taken. Our apps finally arrived after another 20 minutes; my mussels were actually quite good, but my wife’s garlic bread was cold and stale. And then came the interminable slog waiting for our entrees, which were FINALLY brought out after we had been there for almost an hour. We both ordered veal. I have no idea what it was that was put in front of us, but if it was really veal, then this restaurant needs to find a new meat supplier. Ya know what it’s like when you bite into an L.L. Bean hunting boot? Yeah, like that. Only not nearly as succulent. This«meat» could barely be CUT, let alone CHEWED. We did not have the opportunity to say anything to the waitress, of course, because she was nowhere to be found after she dropped off this dismal entrée. When she FINALLY reappeared, we made it clear to her that we were absolutely not happy with our meals, but that we wished to cut our losses for the evening, so please bring us the check. TWENTYMINUTESLATER she returns with the check. Total amount of time wasted at Giuseppe’s: One hour, 45 minutes. For one app and one entrée. There are far too many places in Essex County that actually TRY for us to give this place a second chance.
