Not a bad place to stay… rooms are comfortable and there are plenty of things to meet your travel needs in the hotel. Its on the outskirts of town but it’s right off the main freeway and it’s easy to get into town. I’d stay here again.

too bad theres not a negative option on stars. I had my wedding reception across the street at the Pipac center and thats why i chose this hotel for my guests and myself. The manager was a horse on the phone with me, she was always rude to me, never had the time of day for me, never really took down my information so every time i called i had to retell every detail. When i checked in there was trash in the bathroom, and on the tables. The jacuzzi didn’t work and had curly black hairs in it, the tub didn’t drain properly, the phone to call the front desk had so much static the front desk worker could not hear me and had to come up to the room. The fireplace didn’t work, one of the AC units didn’t work. When i spoke to the front desk worker(bless his hear) he said he would move me into another suite, so i packed everything up then he came back and said the room was occupied… they never did fix anything as they promised either… Many of my guests had problems as well, one guest had reserved two rooms, had his print up from online in hand, but they only gave him one room, the room they gave him was dirty with towels and unmade bed. My sister in law got a room that when she showered it did not drain to the point the tub was filled by the time she was done and it took a long time to drain. The hot tub down at the pool was under construction. The elevators were super slow… anyway they messed up our wedding night quite a bit, we thought we were going to have a romantic night with the fire place and jacuzzi… nope… they did however end up not charging us at all. but that won’t erase the crapy wedding night room…

Judging by the last few reviews, this place has really turned around in a year span. We stayed here 2 nights for a wedding that took place next door at the Pipac and had a nice stay. The Wingate is certainly not a luxury hotel, but its exactly the same as a nice Holiday Inn Express. The rooms were modern, clean and well-designed(plus had a mini fridge). The workout room was small, but there is also a running trail right behind the Pipac across the street. The pool was nice, but SOHOT and continental breakfast had the usual, decent spread of waffles, cereal, bagels/toast and eggs. My only real complaint is that the elevators are SO slow. I doubt I will be back in the area anytime soon, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Wingate by Wyndham Hotels was once a very nice hotel in the Cedar Falls area, actually one of the best. I have stayed there several times, always enjoying my stay. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. I have noticed in the past 6 or so months the quality of the hotel has gone down considerably. Rooms are not very clean, often light bulbs are blown out, microwaves need to replaced, refrigerators in the room are turned up to high freezing the contents or have been turned to low or even turned off altogether leaving contents melting. I have had towels and wash clothes missing, or looking suspiciously like they have been used and hung back up. Rooms smelling of harsh chemicals or smelling like cigarettes when the hotel has a non smoking policy. Bathrooms missing their toiletries. I understand the hotel was under bad management and recently was given a new manager but family members who stayed there last night, Labor Day weekend, reported that they will not stay there again due to some of the problems I just mentioned above. To bad, I hope the owners wake up.

Typical no frills hotel. Rooms are drab and smelled a bit. Light bulbs missing from several fixtures in the room but I can blame that on the previous guest. Internet speed throughout hotel was incredibly slow.
