Chad’s Pizza & Restaurant

2:00 Sunday afternoon, one table of 5 patrons in the whole place, ordered the fried chicken breast basket and a fried fish basket. The kitchen took forever to get our food out. They got the chicken order wrong. The place was cold, with a strong cold wlnd blowing in every time someone opened the door. Not impressed!

Ordered pizza. It was OK-​ish. Soggy and greasy. Service was terrible, even though it wasn’t busy. I had to go to the bar to get a drink, and had to ask for another each time my glass was low. Don’t know why it is called a pizzeria and «restaurant» if the one employee managing the floor fails to move out from being the bar. She seemed much more concerned with her friends that were sitting at the bar than the rest of the customers
Pizza took about 50 mins to complete, which was ridiculous for the crowd there, and the lack of carry-​out/​take-​out.
Thing that topped it off though… IT STINKS. The place smelled like wet dirty rags that had sat out too long… kinda like moldy wet basement. I am guessing the beer well hadn’t been cleaned out for a long time.

VERY disappointed with Chad’s pizza tonight. We usually order carry out but decided to dine in tonight. Most of the issue relates to our server. First when we sat down our server didn’t even come by for 5 minutes or so. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and the servers were busy talking behind the counter. Once our drink orders were taken it was at least another 5 minutes to get them. More talking. We then ordered our pizzas and sat there for 45 – 50 minutes waiting. Our server only came by once in that time to check on us. We asked about our pizza and she said it would be about 5 – 10 minutes. After 5 – 10 more minutes I went to the counter to ask about it. Come to find out she never put our order in. We decided to leave without our pizza and we had to ask to get our drinks free; it was not offered to us. This is not service. Sorry Chad’s. I like your pizza but your service really sucked tonight. She tried to explain that Chad’s isn’t like that but when we see servers behind the bar talking and not REALLY checking on orders, I have a hard time believing that. Won’t dine in again. Will probably do carry out again but it will be a while.

Terrible service. Came in with my parents and grandparents. It was and empty Thursday night with a few people at the bar. We ordered a large Chads Special, a gluten free pizza and a small pepperoni pizza we waited for over an hour to get our food. Many deliveries left while we sat and people even came in and ordered food and left. We never got checked on by our waitress. Then come to find out our food was NEVER EVEN PUT IT. This was my 1^st and last time visiting.

So says it’s open until 2 AM but got here at 11 after Gentlemen of the Road and closed!!!

Overall OK, nothing special. As is a recurring theme here in Iowa, pizzerias are unable to understand that it is the crust that truly makes a pizza special, not the toppings (which were decent in this case). The crust tasted like simple baked yet undercooked dough, sort of like I made in my high school home ec class. But oh well, maybe my expectations are too high. It was not any worse than other pizza places in the area.

Pizza sucks it was cold burnt and the taco pizza was made with sausage who the hell does that I paid more for the surpreme asked for no onion well there was n it was to have aour cream n there was none n no chips no taco sauce, then the cheese pizza was burnt my boys didn’t eat it n then I ordered cheese sticks n we got Texas bread with cheese on it n yep the had burnt crust n where soggy with really I pd 60 $ the only thing that was good was the garbage basket appetizer

Visited for lunch. Service was very slow. The broasted Chicken on the buffet was OK but the pizza wasnt anything special. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here and probably wont be back.

I thought this was very mediocre bar food. The pizza was ok at best. I would much rather go to the OP for pizza, right around the corner. I got the garbage basket. All the food was frozen, deep fried, easy bar food. I don’t think they stick out very much from the other pizza places on the hill or the cedar Valley.

Really wanted to like this place. Thought it was average at best. Large menu, not bringing anything new to the table. The food was average, we ordered the broasted chicken and a veggie pizza. Nothing to wright home about. Service was slow as Christmas. On the upside the server was courteous and professional.
Now here is the deal killer for me… buffet-​salad bar = petri dish not a fan. They entered a really competitive space within a few blocks there’s four other pizza places including the Other Place (OP) a UNI intuition. I can’t see why we would return, I wish them the best of luck!

Got a Chads Special. Very good. Excellent thin crust. Sauce is spicy and just the right amount. Sausage is in fine pieces not large chunks such as Tonys. Yeah! Once students come back it will get crowded and difficult to park to pick up an order. Will try delivery. Want to try the fish and chicken next time.

We ordered pizza for carry out last night. We loved it! It is a thinner crust pizza. It reminds me of what I call «northeast Iowa bar pizza». We will order again.

We ordered xmas holiday… take out. it was a real good pizza. Beef and black olive. Cheeeeeezey, is what i liked about it. I will be back/​ordering. Give it a try.

May have just found my new favorite place! Located around the corner from copy works on college hill.
Their menu boasts a wide variety of items from appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, chicken and so much more.
We got the garbage basket appetizer which was full of a variety of fried cheeses, pickles, mushrooms, onion rings and mini tacos. My kids loved it. We got a small chads special and medium pepperoni the pizza crust is thin and crazy and it’s loaded with a thick layer of delicious cheese.
I think we’ll try the buffet next time. It had pizza, soup and chicken on it. Several customers were getting to go pizza orders.
It wasn’t very busy but UNI is out on break so it was a great time to go bi bet parking is crazy when schools in.
The service was great tonight. The gal who waited on us was very polite and friendly. The restaurant was clean and had new tables and booths. The art work was fun. They had ninja turtles, pop art and sports stuff.
We will be back!
