Smiles and good everything. Coffee was delicious. The lemon blueberry slice of cake was packed with plump juicy blueberries and zing of luscious lemon icing. Too good. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

The best bear claw I think I’ve ever had! Everything was delicious & high quality. I’m worried this might become an addiction.

Fresh baked breads, muffins and wonderful key lime tarts are just a few of the items I’ve enjoyed during the past year when I moved to Sandia Park. This bakery is a wonderful place to get a treat without having to drive into Albuquerque. As a matter of fact, I don’t even know where I would go to get a fresh baked pretzel in the Duke City. What I like best is that their muffins and other baked items are not overly sweet or filled with oil like some you get at other places. Give it a try.

If Albuquerque has a closet, there’s a bakery behind the door. The absence of solid baked breads, pastries and sweet yummies is exceptionally prevalent in the Duke City, a secret most of us locals are too proud to admit. For a populace our size, this is one of those truths that makes Albuquerque, well, still Albuquerque. Still small town. Still lost in the last century. What I wouldn’t give for a bite of a soulful knish, or bundt cake, or challah. I’m not saying these are unheard of in the metroplex, but they’re few and very far between. Just 15 minutes east, in the 7,000 foot town of Cedar Crest, sits a Real Deal that’s supposed to be around the corner from my house. The owner of this place, Erika, specializes in kuchen(pronounced koo-khun), a traditional German cake that’ll put some lovin’ on your waistline. More impressively, she’s doing some great baguettes, muffins, cookies and yes, occasionally challah, at an elevation that’s tricky to pull off. It’s completely worth a visit, especially if you’re visiting from out of town. And Erika’s story – of leaving the daily grind and finding her passion – is worth every penny of your support.

Average bakery food, but bakery food is good. Quality for sweet items on the order of Starbucks price and quality and breads similar to Panera Bread from St. Louis, hence average. Average does not mean bad. Grocery store bakeries are below average. Scones are so-so. Trader Joes are better. Bear claws good, but pricy. Who cares though when they are so good. Fresh bread when you can get it is very good. Pretzels are five star quality and the best I have ever had — very buttery. I had to drop a star, because they are below average in terms of bakery hours which are 7:30 am to 2:30 pm and closed Sunday and Monday at the time of this writing. Most people are working during those hours. I’m used to bakeries open seven days a week from six am to six or seven pm and closing earlier on Saturdays and Sundays. Sunday is a bad day not to be open, because it’s a perfect day for families to buy some excellent higher quality pastries for breakfast and at the same time bread for a family dinner. Tourists are also around on Sundays in season. One review said fresh baked daily which is a bit of a stretch, since they are not open two days a week. Call before you visit to see what’s coming out of the oven and when. Otherwise the service level is good. Maybe they can obtain some restaurant business for bread and rolls, so they can be open longer hours. Not one restaurant in the area has good bread(hint to the restaurants) and many in Albuquerque don’t either. I recommend them when they are open.

First off I want to say what amazing customer service it’s that kind of service that gets 5 stars from me. We were in the area at the post office when we saw this little bakery across the parking lot we walked over to check it out but they were closed. Just as we started to walk away disappointed the lady opened the door and greeted us with a friendly smile she said they were closed but they were happy to let us come and look inside. She showed us what they had left and we happily purchased a raspberry muffin, blueberry muffin and 2 crumble cakes the lady gave us a free scone to try. We just sat down and ate our treats and they were yummy, the kids and I agreed the crumble cakes were our favorite and my husband said his was the raspberry muffin. However, everything was really good and next time we are in the area we won’t hesitate to stop by.

One of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve tried! Plenty of other choices as well. The bakery is in a great location; an easy stop coming or going from the crest. A nice, family owned bakery!

Best time of day is when the pretzels are fresh out of the oven! Unbelievable! The artisan bread is great and the baguettes are the perfect combo of crunchy and chewy. The apfel kuchen is wonderful, but a little pricey for the size. Overall a superb addition to the cedar crest area

Absolutely charming! The ladies behind the counter are lovely and helpful, the décor is simple and clean with an open wooden cathedral ceiling. All baked goodies are made fresh daily, with several gluten-free options. My kids loved the chocolate chip(milk and white chocolate mixed) that are 2 for $ 1, and I went for the lemon streusel muffin and bottomless coffee — all of which was delicious. I’m so glad we stopped in, and will now make it a point to visit the Turquoise Trail Bakery.

My wife and I stopped here just to take a look. The staff was so nice in explaining what everything was. We got a baguette — it was wonderful — crunchy on outside and soft on inside.
