Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center

While I’m very impressed with the facility and kindness of the staff, I’m disappointed in my overall experience.
After hearing about how incredible this clinic was for performance horse injuries, I traveled over 5 hours each way to have my horse evaluated. I understand in the veterinary field things get pushed back for emergencies, but waiting outside in the heat with my horse for an hour and a half for a phone call seemed unnecessary. After I was finally seen there was an extensive lameness exam done which I was impressed with the knowledge of the vet. Fast forward a bone scan later I finally was ready to go over the results the following day and get treatment. I scheduled for the first appointment immediately upon opening since I had to get back home ASAP. Another hour sitting in the waiting room I finally was able to see the vet who went over the scan. We came up with a plan of treatment but the horse had to stay the rest of the day to get worked on. After leaving and coming back 6 hours later nothing had been done.
I was told to come back the following morning and pick him up that everything would be finished. Not only did they not do all the treatment that was discussed because they didn’t have time, the bill was over double what was written up in the estimate (without informing me).
I have called repeatedly for 3 weeks now trying to get someone to call me back regarding medication/​prescription.
I am supposed to be bringing back this horse for an update/​check up. Unfortunately I don’t think the drive is worth the time or expense.

I absolutely adore this veterinary practice. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Specifically, Dr. Ariano is just such a fantastic vet. She truly cares and I absolutely trust her with the care of my Australian Shepherd and my cat. I feel very lucky that I found Chaparral and would recommend them to anyone. The location is out of my way and I pass several other vets on the way, but I won’t ever consider going anywhere else. They truly are the best in the valley!

Again, I give the docs and staff at Chaparral an A+ for service and helping my pup. I called for a last minute appointment and they were able to get me right in. Dr. Cunningham did a complete exam and x rays and pinpointed the problem right away. The pup had to be taken to a specialist for emergency surgery as she had several bladder stones causing blockage and time was against us, so she made a referral and off we went. These docs are top notch and know their stuff. Sometimes I have wondered if extra tests were really necessary, but I always consent because of times like this, if I had not consented to the x ray, we wouldn’t have known how critical my little baby was. During this same week I had two horses show signs of colic and the equine vets were right on target with treatment and both are doing great! They are not cheap. However they are the best I have ever seen. They have treated all my animals from big to small and I have had positive outcomes.

I’ve taken my little dog to Dr. Ariano for routine procedures as well as when he injured his back and every time has been a wonderful experience. The techs and doctor are great with my dog even though he’s a bit of a drama queen. It’s about a 25 minute drive from my house but I can’t imagine taking him anywhere else.

Wonderful vet clinic! We have been going here since moving to the area and we won’t be going anywhere else. Dr. Ariano is awesome. Today our dog had her teeth cleaned, something that I always dread due to the anesthesia (and the fact that I know she’s skittish without one of us with her), but all went well and I felt confident after dropping her off that she was in great hands for something I know is necessary. Dr. Ariano answered all of our questions and I like her conservative stance about other recommendations. She was very comprehensive and just seems like a sweetheart. Aside from Dr. Ariano, the facility itself is nice and seems state of the art. The only negative is the fact that we drive all the way from Chandler, but it’s worth the inconvenience to feel like she’s in good hands and taken care of!

Have always taken our pets here over the past couple years. The Doctors and Vet Techs really care about the animals and anytime we’ve had a medical problem it’s been properly diagnosed. My only complaint is the front office. Sometimes you wait forever even with an appointment. Can be a bit disorganized.

The staff here is great and really share a passion for animals. The doctors are friendly and couldn’t be any more willing to listen and help. The facility is beautiful and very well equipped. I’m not sure there is a perfect veterinarian, but this is as close as it gets in my opinion. Kudos to them and their team!

I absolutely love this Veterinary! I recommend it to anyone I know who has a pet. For about a decade I have visited many different vets in the Phoenix/​Scottsdale area with many of of my pets I have owned and have never really liked them. I was referred to Chaparral Vet by a close friend. when my older dog was sick. I took him in and they treated him very well, explained everything thoroughly to me, wanted to help in anyway they could and everyone were very nice. One of the best things about this vet is that they don’t want to BS you and talk you into a shot they think your animal needs, a test they think needs to be down or other costly things. I think a lot of Vets indeed take advantage of clients and it becomes really expensive. Chaparral Vet explains your options to you and doesn’t push you into things.
My dog was 16 and I had to bring him in a lot as he developed chronic ear infections and respiratory infections. They always treated me and my dog so great and put his needs first. Once my dog woke up with a respiratory infection that had ultimately blocked him from breathing out of his nose. Even though they were booked that day and very busy with a medical procedure on a horse, they insisted me to come in right away and that they would make sure someone could treat my dog. I have worked with all of the different doctors there and they all are just as amazing. I also live 35 minutes away but I don’t mind the drive because I know my animal is in great hands at Chaparral Veterinary.
