Place a little divey, yet good and very reasonable. I had the pork chile verde plate with horchata, was fine. Although it’s mainly a bakery I did not try the pan dulce, will have to come back for that soon.

Ordered a dozen tamales here during our recent trip to Palm Springs, along with a Rosca de Reyes for the 6th. The rosca was really tasty, nicely done. Bravo there. The tamales were only so-so. I found the sizes, consistency of masa, amount of meat and sauce to be very inconsistent from tamale to tamale. The red sauce on the pork tamale was less of a chile sauce and more pico de gallo-like. Meat was dry. We did order the night before, so perhaps this was a special order and not something they tend to have on-hand every morning? Anyway, customer service is spectacular, and the restaurant items looked so good! I would return if ever in the area, but I would not recommend the tamales.

Great food and an amazingly good value. We got a chile verde plate, chicken enchilada plate, two canned sodas and one flan and the bill was under $ 17! That would be praiseworthy already, but the kicker here is that the food is very good. My chile verde plate featured tender chunks of pork, a very nice green sauce, and decent rice and beans. David was similarly satisfied with his enchiladas, though he noted you get only two — still at this price hard to complain. The flan was interesting, good custard flavor, served on a slice of a jelly roll. Missed the caramel sauce, but it was good, and like everything else, very reasonably priced. Parking is a challenge, the first time we tried to go here we bailed because there was nowhere to park. But it is worth finding a place to park for this gem.

I am rating this place with 5 stars because of their strawberry cake. I get it all the time and it’s one of the best I have ever had. Their food is not exceptional but good enough.

Villa bakery is not just a bakery. When I am visiting my parents in Palm Springs, it is my regular breakfast and lunch spot. It is a clean, family-owned and run Mexican restaurant. The tacos, burritos, and tortas(sandwiches) are perfectly prepared with the freshest ingredients, and the pastries are simple and fresh. They also have horchata. The breakfast burritos are particularly good, and the prices are extremely reasonable. When in the Coachella Valley, I will always make the time to go to Villa Bakery.

Located on the corner of Crossley Road and Ramon Road, Villa Bakery has great pastries and great food. They serve tacos for $ 2.40 each, your choice of Carne Asada, Carnitas, Lengua, Adobada. They also have plates; 3 Flautas, rice and beans for $ 5.85, Carne Asada plate, Carnitas plate, etc… You walk up, order for take out of eat in, find your seat and they’ll bring the food when its ready. Don’t forget about the pastries, they have delicious cakes, pan dulce, orejas, turnovers, etc. Reasonably priced to boot. This is a locals place. Eat like a local, I’ll be back.

Best hole in the wall Mexican food around. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid and have gotten the same thing every time, carne asada torta with no tomatoes and extra green sauce. Mmm just try it.

Another great inexpensive place in the desert. Good Tortas and some of the best chilaquilesI’ve had. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My husband is one of those people who can’t stand the taste of cilantro when they accidently put it on his food they were very apologetic and remade his Torta. I’m not crazy about the pastries they sell. But the other food more than makes up for it.

Recently had breakfast here. Kind of a dumpy little diner with ad hoc décor but the food was very good. The baked goods are huge and decadent. Watch out… portions are big and prices are low, so it is easy to order too much food here.

I’ve been coming to this bakery for the past 10 years. I’m not a regular customer — but from time to time when I do come here when I’ve got the craving. I found out about this bakery because it was featured in a newspaper article. Its family owned and operated for many generations and that’s what gives it — its appeal! I wish my figure would allow me to come here more often! :)

Good Mexican food at a Bakery? You’ll find a nice selection of Mexican food at this hole in the wall and they specialize in baked pastry items. I was referred to this place from a local in town who said they have great Menudo on weekends. I tried the chorizo combo plate with coffee and it was tasty BC it was not being greasy and overpowering. I liked the idea having onions and cilantro on the side which gave it a nice flavor along beans, rice and homemade salsa. I my way out I checked out the baked goods of Mexican breads and pastries so I purchased a box of various items for my client. They even had flan, churros, and whipped cream horns. My customer really enjoyed the pastries and hopefully I scored some extra points with them. Only downside with Villa Bakery & Mexican food is that it’s cash only.
