It was okay, but they seemed to have trouble getting the right coffee to me. I actually prefer non-chain greasy spoons for breakfast. Food was good but not remarkable. I won’t go out of my way to find another one, but I certainly could eat here again with no problem.

One of my favorite breakfast places in Castle Rock An excellent place for egg dishes(naturally) and it’s lead me to discover I may have a hollandaise sauce addiction. I started with the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, delved into the Parisian Benedict and now find myself helplessly ordering the Spinach Bacon Mushroom omelette each time I visit. All these dishes come with Hollandaise sauce and all are delicious. I’m told the French Toast is pretty good, but with this many savory options to choose from I’ve yet to experience it for myself. One other thing to note is the coffee: the regular joe served was awful(too bitter) but the hazelnut blend was much better… opt for that when ordering.

I like to consider myself a seasoned bruncher, and this place is on point. Fresh squeezed oj, real maple syrup, and the food my friend and I had was incredible. The omelet was perfectly moist but not undercooked, the hollandaise was perfection, and the grits only required minimal seasoning. Let’s not get started on the wonderfully crispy but soft Belgian waffle. Definitely will be returning here!

I have always had a pleasant experience here. The food is high quality and not greasy like other breakfast places we have been to. Their raspberry granola pancake is amazing!

Fantastic breakfast place. We took our daughter their(19 months old) and the kids menu was incredible, there is a lot of kid themed menu items. I ordered the club and added the spicy sauce, just what I needed. My wife had their coffee and eggs and hash. We were very impressed and will return in the near future.

I’ve read some of the other 1 star reviews on this location but I really can’t relate. I’ve been to this location at least a dozen times with my wife and we had a good experience every time. Food and service were great and on par with the the location near Arapahoe rd. We recognized and greeted some of the staff that left IHOP to work here and they have all been pleasant to us. During busy times, there was a slightly longer delay on the food, but it hasn’t been the extremes referenced by other reviews. We’ll continue to dine there as long as the service and quality remain the way it has been so far. Recommended and will definitely be back.

If I could give zero stars I would. This restaurant started out great. It has slowly deteriorated. The food is terrible. It’s hard to believe that the service can be worse than the food, but it is. If you get waited on in a timely manner it’s a miracle. They bring you your food and go hide in the kitchen and come back when you are done to drop your check off. So if there is an issue with your food, too bad. Or a refill of coffee or soda would be nice. You get better service at a fast food restaurant. Don’t waste your money or your time.

Food was OK, but service needs some work! Took a while to get acknowledged and seated even though they weren’t busy. After we sat down, same thing, took a while for the waiter to acknowledge us. When he did, he seemed put off being there, and wouldn’t respond with any verbal or non verbal queues that he was even listening as he took our order. After a LONG wait thinking that maybe he didn’t put out order in, we finally got our food. Food was decent like any other Egg and I. Not sure what the deal with service was, especially since it was half empty there and not busy. If you go in expecting poor service, you should be able to enjoy the food.

I was really sad when the location on the east side of the highway closed. Happy to know they did re-open in Castle Rock, though a bit out of the way unless you live in the Meadows or are visiting the hospital. Seems a bit smaller than the other location and parking isn’t fabulous, but the food is still good.

Just had the breakfast burrito for the first time, extra fresh jalapeños … So good! Husband got the Belgian waffle special with fresh fruit, eggs and pork sausage. All was delicious, coffee piping hot. The restaurant itself is spotless with great service. Waitress double checked that I had enough extra jalapeños and could even tell me if they were mild or hot(since jalapeños vary from time to time). Highly recommended –

We have been going to Castle Rock’s Egg and I 1 to 2 times a week for nearly the full year that they’ve been open. We’ve had nothing less than STELLAR service and GREAT food. A previous review written with foul language, terrible grammar/spelling and extremely derogatory comments towards a female employee reek of insecurity and paranoia on part of the individual that wrote the review. I find it difficult to believe this individual owns a restaurant and yet uses such vitriolic language to reference a female employee in a review. Castle Rock’s Egg and I has great breakfast(and lunch) food, friendly staff and we know we will always be welcomed and receive consistently great food and service. Keep up the great work…

Well where do I start. For the 1st time in my life I felt discriminated against. I went in to meet my ex-wife to discuss some family stuff. We walked in and they were not busy. there was a large poorly dressed large women standing in the back by the kitchen entrance(she was wearing all brown) dressed like an out of fashion UPS driver. Her and I made eye contact and she rolled her eyes. And walk back into the kitchen. Came out a second later… And rolled her eyes and seemed I convinced that we were there. didn’t say a word to us. At first I though«well this bitch must be having a bad day?» Asked her for water and a coffee. And she turned away. And went into the kitchen. Our server came out and took a drink order. I told him the manager was getting it… I got up from the table and went to the restroom. I come back to the table and my ex is like what the fuck is wrong with these people… Asked her what happened and she told me that the UPS drive was rude and the server was not the greatest but he is at acknowledging me… I am just trying to get a glass of water. UPS passed us 4 times and had covers actions with everyone in the restaurant. Laughing and smiling. and not one word from her. Just a glare as she walked by and said nothing. No joke now I know how a Black Guy feel when being looked at by and old racist. Or A Gay Couple feels like when being glared at by some small minded asshole. Everyone in this place was created and treated better and it was cause of the way we looked. We are covered in tattoos she is a hair stylist for a very large salon. And I am an Excutive Chef and restaurant owner. I can tell you this. the food was not bad… It wasn’t great either… And honestly the treatment we received made everything seem 1000 times worse… The sad part is I still tipped $ 8 on $ 25 because I didn’t want them to judge us and say the same thing«bad restaurants» say when receiving a shitty tip. «Oh that’s just like them» or «they were just looking for something free» This place is bullshit, the service was bullshit. I can’t believe people still act this way. So here’s to you UPS. You small minded, judgmental, rude, redneck, hopefully you find some happiness. People not every Egg and I is like this… it is usually a pretty good place to catch a quick easy breakfast. But CASTLEROCK is fuct up!

Well I’m afraid to say it but, we’ve been back 4 times now and every time the service or the food has gotten worse. Today’s debacle was a twenty-five minute wait for our food and while the server was apologetic she brought out rubbery eggs without offering to have fresh ones made we had to ask. On top of this folks seated after us in another section were served their food and left before the new eggs arrived. That was the last chance they received from us and we won’t be coming back until there’s a change in management.

I really wanted to love this place since it is w/in walking distance of my home — but no such luck. I had the Mexican omelet and even though it was cooked perfectly — the flavor was bland. Barely any chorizo in the omelet and the green chili was just that — green. No heat at all. There are better breakfast spots in Castle Rock.

Terrible service last weekend. The two hostesses seemed thoroughly confused by the prospect of calling out a name and leading a party to an empty table. Finally seated, we order our drinks and breakfast. Drinks get delivered… and that’s the last we see of our waiter. About an hour later, after several parties who arrived after us are served, we stop the supervisor to request the bill for our drinks. She mumbles something about walkouts and confusion in the back. No apologies and she’s visibly annoyed that we’ve stopped her. Very disappointing. The service and food are never that great, we really only went because there are few breakfast options in town. We won’t be returning in the forseeable future.

Not a whole lot to say here other than the place is very clean but it’s also very new. Eggs Benedict was cold and apparently there is some kind of hollandaise sauce shortage I was unaware of because I was given 1 tablespoon for each egg. And I was also told it came with bacon where’s the bacon? On the upside the coffee is plentiful, if you repeatedly asked for it! well the bathrooms are really clean, so if you need to go to the bathroom this is your place.

As my husband and I were eating our omelets,(which were well made) we found not only 1, but 2 hairs in our omelets– his and mine. These were on 2 different plates, not the same. When I called for the manager, I saw the waitress tell a lady(not sure if she was the manager?) and she huffed and rolled her eyes then smiled real fake like when she saw that I was looking at her. They did comp our breakfast and then gave us about 5 coupons«to use next time»(like we are really going back?!) Those coupons were a joke! Free coffee. Haha! Never going back to this Egg and I or any other for that matter.

Excellent every time. From the staff to the management to the food prep and cleanliness, this place rocks! It’s very well priced for what you get and its all done so very well! The free wifi is an added bonus and I like that it’s clean and hope it continues. One thing I didn’t care for was how dang loud the music was. Very annoying. I go there for the food and NOT for overly loud music when you can’t have a nice conversation with someone. Seriously, turn the volume down! It’s supposed to be ambience not a nightclub. Loss of one star.

I was disappointed that with the name«egg» in the title of the restaurant, my eggs were under cooked. They immediately rectified it, however, so they get 3 stars instead of 2. The Belgium waffle is outstanding and they leave you with a pitcher of coffee which is great for refills. The staff is friendly and the location is wonderful but they are a bit over priced for the portion(although I’m finding that to be a trend here in Castle Rock).

2nd time here and it’s still great! The Southern Pecan coffee rocks! The hash was super tasty and the hubby really enjoyed the spinach, bacon & cheese omelet. Shannon once again took phenomenal care of us.
