BEWARE! If I could issue 0 stars, I would! He should not be practicing dentistry! This dentist will not and does not listen to his patients! After doing a root canal on my son, my son was experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort. Every time we came back, we were told«it just needs to be adjusted». After several«adjustments» we finally went for a second opinion. I wish I could upload the X-ray to show how not only did this dentist miss half of the nerves, the amount of filling(or lack of) caused my current dentist much alarm. My son now has a severe infection and has to undergo major surgery to remove the infection and redo the botched root canal in hopes of POSSIBLY keeping his tooth. It’s going to take a miracle– he also did a root canal on my front tooth, which I have had issues with after an accident when I was a teenager. I’m not sure how but he convinced me that I needed a crown instead of keeping my natural tooth… had he told me about the«prep», I would have never agreed– NEVER!!! He also convinced me that for a «couple hundred dollars more», I should get my crown«professionally color matched» so it would match the rest of my teeth. After coordinating my schedule with theirs, I went to a lab where a man«painted» my crown and held it up to the rest of my teeth to match it!!! I don’t know why I was under the impression it would be «professionally matched»…not by the eye of a tech! Not only does the color NOT match my other teeth but it’s HUGE, it looks like a horse tooth plus, it isn’t even straight in my mouth!!! When I went for a routine visit to a new dentist, after taking routine X-rays, he looked quite disturbed… when I asked what he saw, he replied that I WILL loose my front tooth… after all that??? He showed me how Dr. Hekkert«over prepped» it by filing it down so small that it WILL snap off. I was told even biting into a hard sandwich or small injury to my mouth WILL xcause it to snap right off– needless to say, I am mortified at the thought of walking around without my front tooth! Imagine a small pen refill– 1/8″ in circumference– now imagine that small tiny piece is the only thing that is holding a crown in your mouth??? that’s how small he filed it down AND as he did with my son, there is no filling in the canal he drilled out so it’s essentially a hollow tube that can snap off at any time… it’s going to cost me $ 6,000 to remove that tooth and have a fake one implanted. All so he could make a «couple hundred dollars». My current dentist says he shouldn’t be practicing and I should consider talking to an attorney. Doctors never throw that around unless it’s gross negligence. Save your teeth and run away… fast! Fyi– I have NEVER written a review before but feel I have to tell my story to hopefully save others the pain we have experienced because of this dentist.
