Had lunch here with a few friends… Very neat, quirky place with a fun atmospere. Has a patio with a creek near by that I’m sure is beautiful in the spring and summer. Not the best burger I’ve ever had but I really didn’t care. The baked beans were very good. My friend had the buffalo burger and his wife had a salad and they both said it was really good. I would go back here anytime I was in that area of town.

I went here on a Wed afternoon with my wife for lunch. I think we just missed the lunch rush. We were seated immediately and ordered our food and did the wine tasting while we waited. Complimentary wine tasting. As many wines as they have wine tasting. It was great. I sampled just about everything then picked my poison and a nice glass of wine with my buffalo burger which was succulent and delicious. I plan on going back for the buffalo lasagna! Great experience but judging from the reviews I will try to go when they don’t look so crowded.

Wines is a quaint very casual stop. We have been here several times but decided to stop on Valentine’s weekend. We had an hour wait for a table, thankful for some wine tasting while we waited. This was unusual, we’ve never had to wait this long before. Once we got a table the service was excellent especially considering how busy they were. Loved the fresh greens salad and we both had the Raspberry Chipotle Chicken. It was so good. We had a bottle of the Palisade Rose’. We finished off the dinner by splitting a piece of cheesecake. The food was very good, the cost extremely reasonable for what you get. We love coming here, especially in the Summer when we can sit outside by the creek.

This place is usually pretty awesome. Fun to taste the wines, cute shop, decent food. Yet last tue night we stopped in to eat, the poor waitress was alone with about ten tables. Since it was taking a very long time for her to take our order, we went and tasted some wine to decide which we’d have with dinner. We let the host know what we were doing. When we came back to our table, two more diners had arrived and she was already helping them. At that point we decided to leave. Management– don’t overload your staff — it’s not fair to them and makes your place look cheap and chaotic which I know from past experience this is a pretty cool place.

This place used to be really good, but it has really gone down hill! I was waiting for my party to show up and thought I would have some wine. Tastes are free but a small glass is $ 7.50! The wine burger was under cooked(red) and when we sent it back, they didn’t remake it(we did ask for well done) they took the burger out of the bun and cooked it longer and brought it back 15 minutes later! The only reason they got 2 stars is because they comped the burger.

Really disappointed in this place. We were taken here by my husbands family — and had a terrible experience. Seated quickly, but then after waiting 15 minutes we finally had to ask for someone to come over and at least get us water. Long story short, got our orders taken. I asked for my burger to be medium well and got medium rare… Yugh! Told a waitress who seem baffled, they recooked it. But then threw on tons of mushrooms. Which I didn’t want. Regardless, burger upset my stomach. :( Kyle and blonde waitress were very sweet and nice. Everyone else at my table liked the food, just I had a funky experience.

Adding a star for the responsiveness of the management. Though we had problems, they were always attended to when brought up.

The food was great– i had the pulled pork sandwich and husband had the chicken pesto– both really good. Cant recommend any of the wines though. We had the pikes peak merlot and it wasn’t good. Our host informed us that colorado is more known for their beers so we steered clear of wines for the remainder of our trip. The food was def good though.

The creek-side dining is spectacular but keep in mind that this is Colorado and the weather changes quite often(20-min forecasts are popular). The one issue this place has always had is slow service but not tonight: even with a full outdoor patio! Tonight I ordered the smoked prime rib with asparagus and it turned out fantastic. I paired it with Road Kill Red, which is my go-to wine when I actually drink wine. I would highly recommend stopping in for a great meal and/or wine.

We walked out without even being greeted by the waiter/waitress after at least 30 minutes. Many others were looking around for wait staff or actively agitated with the food delays. Will NOT Return. I’d suggest only going if no one is there. The restaurant, or maybe just a few on the staff, obviously don’t know how to handle larger crowds. Story: On Labor Day weekend, we expected big crowds here, and weren’t disappointed(we are locals and have visited here and there for the last 10 years). It took about 30 minutes to get a table, which we expected, and the host/hostesses were very nice and communicative. Once we did get a table, however, we never did see the waiter/waitress. A large table of 6 sat down next to us(about 10 – 15 minutes after us), and even though the entire group wasn’t there, the wait staff visited them first. Only to get one wine order, then leave without even attempting to make eye contact elsewhere. They returned to take another wine order, then leave to place the order without another glance. A table of 4 was seated about 20 minutes after us, and they started getting very impatient as well. The host came by a couple of times to tell us the wait staff was very busy, but it doesn’t explain visiting one table and none of the others. I tried to get their attention every time, but without success… I guess I should have been more demanding and tapped on their shoulder lol. After they returned a third time to take more orders at the same table, we had had enough. Hopefully the other table did the same, because they were flagging down anyone just to take their order… they weren’t greeted for at least 20 minutes either! Never again!

We arrived on a rainy Tuesday summer night at 815PM, were warmly greated and invited to select our table, which we chose next to the windows overlooking a roaring creek and wooded hillside. The ambiance was simple and warm. After ordering we tasted wines in the wine shop and selected a wonderful and interesting Pinot Gris from the local Pikes Peak Winery to drink with our meal. I ordered the Trout Almandine served on a bed of fresh spinach, with wild rice and grilled asparagus spears. My husband had their award winning Colorado Bison Burger with fresh Cole slaw. The meals were perfectly prepared and delicious. The prices were excellent. The service was great and we especially enjoyed speaking with the owner who served us at the wine bar.

A kind gentleman at the wine tasting bar. Once my boyfriend told him I was from LA, the man jokingly asked ‘Are you a California wine snob?’ Honestly a sweet man and looking forward to enjoying the Holy Cross Reserve I purchased along with the Pikes Peak Cab. Givin this 4 out of 5 cheers ;)

I was absolutely blown away with the food. It was unexpected to find such amazing food and friendly service so close to our cabin. I will make a point to return next time I am around!

It took about 45 minutes to get a table when we arrived 7:00 on a Saturday night. Unfortunately that wasn’t our only wait of the night. Three tables that were seated after us and got service before us. It was very frustrating as we couldn’t catch anyone’s eye to get attention. We ordered caprese salad to start with, and I swear they substituted spinach for basil. If it was basil it was the blandest basil I’ve ever tasted. We both ordered bison burgers that used to be infused with wine. Apparently from the taste of things the wine is gone and the burger itself was very bland. The only redeeming thing for me was the great toppings on the burger, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and green chili, yumm!

We split the rib eye which was 12 oz, cooked to perfection and comes with a salad, and two sides(we picked the asparagus and Yukon potatoes) the horseradish sauce was yummy and the service was attentive. Overall, a lovely experience. We only would have requested something more private or romantic or closer to the fire on a chilly fall night. Food and wine and wine tastings: fantastic.

I’m a local resident and occasionally give this place another try when invited by someone, but it is really tiresome to have such lackadaisical service. Many reviews mention this, and Marv responds noting apologies. It seems to be strictly lip service. So what’s the problem? Inexperienced and poorly trained wait staff? A kitchen too small to handle even a moderate crowd to get a salad delivered in less than 45 minutes? It’s time to change the two restrooms to unisex. It doesn’t stop me if the Men’s opens up but I know a lot of people feel uncomfortable doing that. Even though it was a 15 minute wait, my app was still not delivered when I returned to my table. Since they now have their own wine label, it seems to be poured first unless I mention a specific winery. Since when does some mediocre sweet blend get poured when a dry rose is requested? The upper deck needs more umbrellas for a sunny day especially when all are in use and I’m cooking in the sun. I’m going to Green Mountain Falls, Woodland Park or the Springs for lunch or dinner in the future.

This makes me so sad. I was so excited about this place. Hopefully, when we go back this spring/summer I can update this review. Food: Meh. My husband and I both got the buffalo burger medium rare, and they both came out well done. Any cook should know not to do that to buffalo meat. It gets really tough. It was dry and difficult to eat. They also were out of potatoes — and none of the other sides sounded appetizing so we got side salads. The rest of the menu LOOKS good, but I can’t vouch for the execution. But I do like that they have wine recommendations with the food. I had a cab, and it was good. Service: Holy hell. Our guy was nice, but the worst service. He came over about 10 minutes after we were seated to say hi and that he’d be right back to take our drink order. We sat there for another 20 minutes before he took our order. There was a large table of older ladies who were right next to us and were being pretty demanding. But seriously. And then our food took forever. And I almost had to walk over and ask for our check. Just terrible. He seemed nice and like he was trying, so we still left him 20 percent. But awful. Atmosphere: We were shoved in corner so meh. The décor in the front room is kind of meh too, which I wouldn’t count against them if their food was at least good. The patio was closed for some filming thing or because it was winter, but as we were leaving I saw the creek in the back. I’m sure it’s lovely during the summer. They should consider putting heaters out there for the winter. It was in the 50s that day, which is warm after some of the days we’ve had. Their little shop seems cute. Overall, I’m looking forward to coming back here this summer to give them another chance. I really, really wanted to love this place.
