I like this place. Their pizza is really good. 4 stars out of 5 stars. –Joseph Johnston

The pizza is nothing special for the price. Not a ripoff, but the pizza isn’t remarkable in any way.

When I walked in and saw how the ordering process was I got worried. It’s just like Blaze Pizza(and I am not a fan). But rest assured, this place is nothing like Blaze. You can choose white or wheat crust. We had one pizza with white and one with wheat. I actually preferred the wheat. We had 3 different pizzas and they were all very good !! Meatball, red onion and banana peppers on white crust was delicious. I tried the buffalo chicken pizza too. It was a bit spicy and was delicious. My daughter and I split a Greek salad. It had ample fresh ingredients. Draft beer is $ 2 on Saturday. The selection isn’t too good. But it’s a great deal. We will be back

I saw this place on the side of the road while driving down Highway 55, and decided to try it based on its excellent Unilocal reviews. Upon walking in, an employee immediately greeted my boyfriend and I and asked if it was our first time here. It was, so she happily gave us a menu and explained all the choices that were available. In summary, they had build-your-own pizzas, signature pizzas, salads, and sides. The build-your-own pizza included a small 9-inch pizza for $ 7.99, as well as medium and xl options. They also offered gluten-free(extra $ 2) and wheat crust options, which was really cool. I thought it was kind of strange and quirky that they didn’t have a large pizza option, but I just went with it. Also, all build-your-own pizzas come with 3 toppings. Uncle Maddio’s concept is similar to Blaze, where you can pick your toppings from a wide variety of choices before you, and you can watch them make your personal pizza. The differences however, are that Uncle Maddio’s has a normal crust(Blaze has thin crust), and they use a conventional conveyer belt oven. However, all that matters is the taste. We ended up getting a medium build-your-own pizza with 3 different toppings on each half of the pizza, totaling about $ 15. The pizza came out in about 10ish minutes, and was really good. By that, I mean that the cheese was doing that nice stringy cheese thing when you pull off a piece of the pizza. Besides the cheese, the toppings tasted great and had some real flavor. However, the crust was lacking in my opinion. It was very plain and tasteless, and from someone who loves Domino’s garlic crust, this was a bit disappointing. Overall, the pizza itself was pretty good and satisfying. However, I don’t think I will be coming back, as it costs a little more for the quantity of food you’re getting, especially when compared to other pizza places. It was a good experience, however.

I have always loved Uncle Maddio’s and this location has reaffirmed my love! They are so good with my food allergies, they are friendly and they have reasonably priced food. They have made mistakes before in the past but they have always done the right thing about the mistake. The only problem I had was when my husband and I came for dinner on a Monday. They close at 9 but when we came at 8:45, they were locked. The cooks just stared at us and no one would let us in or offer us dinner. It was upsetting, but we will still go back because of the location and good past treatment.

Yummmmmy! I like the crust more than blaze but both are the same concept, which is great. I would go back again.

It is the first time I eat pizza at this place, and I can say it is one of the best pizza restaurants I visited. Pizza is fresh, good, like bread because I like me a little golden brown. the pizza was large, half pepperoni because my daughter loves, and the other half was Spacy Italian with all the toppings. I ate it with a red wine. you can build your pizza as you want.

I would never expect to give a pizza place 5 stars, but I’ve done it more than once, and with very good reason on the occasions when I have. Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint is one of those places. This is an unexpected charm in my opinion, because we had no idea it was a «build your own» style of pizza place. When you walk in, you go up to the counter, and walk along the line choosing everything from your crust(flour, whole wheat or gluten free), to the style(thin, thick), toppings(3 to choose), and even desserts(cookies, cannoli), etc. There are so many variations you could make countless styles of pizza. When we went, the servers were incredibly helpful, friendly, funny, and thoughtful. The restaurant is clean, with televisions to watch sports, and a drink machine to pour your own drink throughout your meal. Great option. Tucked inside the Parkside Shopping area, this pizza place is situated right near the Harris Teeter Grocery store. Parking is readily available, just remember that with all of the specialty options for your order that you could make, if this place gets busy(especially on weekends), the line could be long, so plan for that. You can order ahead if you’d like to pick up a pizza«to-go», which is another great option. We plan on making this a regular in our pizza place rotation. I highly recommend it.

Haven’t back since the Grand Opening. We came by for«Maddio Monday» when All 9″ three-topping pizzas are only $ 5.55 all day! What a deal that is. Apparently the word is out as nearly every table was taken! I decided to try and put together something different this time as my standard is mushrooms, onions, sausage and green peppers. I choose a whole wheat crust and asked that BBQ sauce to be added on top of the standard tomato basil sauce, then topped with chicken, the black bean & corn salsa(which also has red onions and diced tomatoes in it) and cilantro added after cooking. It was fantastic!!! It was like the BBQ pizza at CPK only much, much better! The staff here is genuinely friendly and very attentive. I’d eat here every Monday if I could!

This is a pretty cool pizza joint. The décor is very modern, clean and has a really cool theme to it. I like the build your pizza concept. All the people where were really nice and accommodating. Our pizzas were all prepared fresh and look amazing. I ordered a BBQ Chicken pizza and it was decent. The downside was that it was too salty for my taste. My friend ordered the Southwest Baja and he noticed that it was too salty as well. I eventually went onto their nutritional page and the sodium count pretty much speaks for itself. I’ll still come back, just once in a blue moon.

Design your own oven-baked pizza! Excellent pizza and great atmosphere. I have been here about nine times since they opened and the pizza I get has been stellar each time. The ingredients are fresh and they make it right in front of you. Whenever anybody walks in, the staff yells our«Ciao Maddios!» I started it doing it too and got some laughs from the staff. The will also come by and check on you while you eat. My average price with drink is just over $ 10(but, I get an extra topping and there is a charge for that). The beverage bar has a great choice in beverages including tea and many sodas. I like the fact that they have oregano in shaker jars available. They also have red pepper and Parmesan cheese as well, garlic salt and regular table salt and pepper. In talking to the manager, they are owned by Moe’s. This would explain the same concept that you find at Moe’s. No complaints from me at this place. If you can dream it up and they have the ingredient, you can have it made for you!

We had great pizza tonight. The best since we moved to Cary from NY. They do a personal pizza, thin crust style. Sauce was great and that usually makes the difference. Maddio Mondays gets you a 9 inch pzza with three toppings for 5.55, so it’s affordable too. They also have gluten-free pizza for a 2 dollar up charge. See you there.

An interesting and fun dining experience. Close as you can get to Kramer’s «make your own”(Seinfeld reference). Pretty good sauce, flavorful toppings, friendly folks. If you chose beer or wine its serve yourself as well. Plenty of booths with TVs placed in key locations. Nothing fancy, but tasty, casual and fun.

I was checking out the offerings in yet another new Wake County shopping center off of Hwy 55 and the Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint looked appealing to me. I was familiar with the quick bake, pick your own toppings while going through a line concept having been to Blaze pizza in Morrisville recently. Essentially Maddio’s is the same concept as Blaze with a few differences. I went with the white crust 9 inch pizza with three toppings(they have a 3 topping special on Mondays). My three toppings were Canadian Bacon, regular bacon and ham(I like to eat healthy when it comes to pizza). I thought the pizza was good enough to warrant 4 stars. The ingredients were fresh and they were generous with the mozzarella cheese and meat toppings. It’s inevitable that Uncle Maddie’s gets compared to Blaze, but as I mentioned in the first paragraph there are some differences. I think Uncle Maddie’s offers more other than pizza than Blaze such as salads, toasted sandwiches and cannoli(I think they serve beer too). I liked the pizza at Blaze a little better, but with only one visit to each place I don’t think I have been to either one enough to pick a winner.(I gave both 4 stars on Unilocal). All in all this concept is a good one and I think Uncle Maddio’s will do just fine in a prime location for the RTP lunch crowd and Cary suburbanites.

It seems like these days the new trend is the Chiptole-style«build your own» pizza joint. It’s a nice change from the plethora of burger joints that have opened over the last few years, and offers some good options for the picky eater! It’s a great place to eat — but this is kind of a comparison review of Blaze, just as much as it is an Uncle Mattios review. You really can’t go wrong with either — but Mattios definitely is better for shared pizzas, and for non-pizza eaters(what!?! They exist??) Uncle Mattios and Blaze pizza have both opened here on the triangle in the last few months — and while they aren’t close enough to be called«competition» for each other — they are equidistant to me! Uncle Mattios has a pretty large menu, and offers both personal size pizzas as well as larger pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. They have a conveyor oven — so they can throw toppings on bread to make a sandwich, or on dough to make a pizza! In many ways they are very similar to blaze(they use a wood fired oven) there’s a ton more options here, though. The quality of the pizzas is more or less the same — thin and crispy crust, delicious sauces, lots of options — you can’t really go wrong with either. I do prefer the unlimited topping at Blaze — it’s nice to throw stuff on a pizza without worrying about the cost. Here they give you three free toppings, so while it sounds cheaper it can work out to be more expensive if you like a loaded pie. The $ 2.99 kids pizza option is nice…

This place was recommended to us by our leading officer at the new community we moves in and we are so grateful. Loved their pizzas! It’s fresh and yummy. They have a variety of dough and sauces. It’s like making your pizza at home except that you don’t have to go through all the trouble. Since it is so close to my house, i am sure to be tempted to go there often. Need to do some extra work out, so that i can afford eating pizza more often ;)

We’ve really been enjoying this place. The kids eat free on Wednesday is a great deal and the staff is super friendly. As for the food. The subs are a good size but the bread is a bit hard for me, but why are you going to a pizza place for subs. Seriously stick with the pizza and the cheese sticks. They are really delish. If you pick up a cookie at the register, make sure you have them warm it up. Pretty much makes it awesome. Overall no complaints.

Um, awesome pizza joint. The menu was full of crazy combos and awesome things to choose from. I ordered a personal size pizza with four different meat on top, pepper jack cheese and sauce with buffalo dressing! Highly recommend. Great thin slices with a crunchy crust. Service was very nice, lively and welcoming. Nothing but a great occasion.

Checked out this place last week. It was pretty busy since they had sent out flyers for free individual pizzas. All the staff was very nice, but like all bar/topping type places — it can be hard to communicate over the glass case(especially when you’re short!) They put a lot of sauce, if you are like me and prefer less sauce say it when you select the crust, if not you’ll probably be too late. The sauce was also spread out far to the edge, so there was too little crust for my taste. Yet other pictures look like they had more crust so, it may depend on who makes it. When they first put the cheese I could still see the sauce so I asked for a little more, turned out it counted as one of my toppings(bummer). Ended up just adding the honey ham. They put a good amount on, just the ham was meh– not much of a flavor. I tried signing up for the loyalty program, it apparently takes 24 hours to show on their computers so I could not receive my ‘free gift’ or earn points for my visit. It also turns out 5 days later I still haven’t received an email from the company confirming that I was registered.
