Went in a few weeks back to polish my watch. Brief but unpleasant interaction with man behind the counter. Will not be back.

I went here after having a less than acceptable experience at a chain jewelry store, I found this place and decided to check it out. Within 30 seconds of walking in the door, I was pleasantly greeted by a saleswoman who asked if I needed any help with anything, despite there already being several customers in there. I told her what I was looking for, and she led me right to the section I wanted. She was very friendly and attentive during the entirety of my time there from the moment I walked through the door to after the completion of my purchase… which I might add was very reasonably priced for what it was. I plan on using them again for future jewelry and watch needs and would recommend them to anybody else looking for a quality jewelry store with friendly staff and fair prices.

Greeted quickly and they were super nice, changed battery quick and when cleaning my rings noticed some damage to rings that needed immediate repair. Glad they caught that. Called back promptly w estimate on one of the rings. Nice selection of jewelry, loved the estate jewelry.

I was totally impressed with this shop. Not only was I greeted but the man who helped me literally took less then 5 minutes to replace my watch battery. I would definitely go back

Went in to have a metal watch band repaired. I was greeted immediately by a group of very friendly staff. They fixed my watch in under 10 minutes and didn’t waste anytime getting to work. I was charged $ 3 for the repair. Very pleased with their work and customer service. It’s a bit of a drive to downtown Cary, but was worth the time for their service.

In the context of my somewhat limited encounters with Johnson’s Jewelers: Location: 4 out of 5 Cary is so spread out that one could make an argument that there are multiple downtown areas. JJ is located in what I guess is the historic district. Street parking is limited, but there is a customer lot in the back of the building, which is a plus. Customer service: 5 out of 5 Quintessential southern, everyone single person I encountered at JJ was exuberantly friendly to a point that if I weren’t actually originally from the south, I’d probably be taken aback at just how friendly they actually were. For reference, I’ve spent the majority of my adult life in Chicago. Quality of work: 4.25 out of 5 I needed a new crystal on my Citizen watch. The crystal was replaced nicely, and the watch was cleaned appropriately. The one tiny thing I noticed is that when I pull the screw to set the time, the second hand is to align exactly at the 12 o’clock position. I noticed that it now aligns at the 11 position, which isn’t that huge of a deal, and certainly not worth the hassle to take back. Turnaround time: 5 out of 5 Having no frame of reference for what it should take to get a new crystal installed on a watch, I felt like the 2 week turnaround time was actually quick. My opinion is based on the procedure I’ve seen on Citizen’s website, as follows. Had I wanted the facility in Torrance or Atlanta to install the crystal, I first would have had to send my watch to them using FedEx, UPS, or USPS(assume 2 days from RDU to ATL). After receipt, the facility will make an estimate and provide it in writing, since I wasn’t seeking warranty service on my watch(let’s assume 3 days). After confirming the estimate and paying, the Citizen website estimates 8 business days to turn around the work. Therefore, I probably saved 4 — 5 working days by dropping my watch off at JJ. Value: 4 out of 5 Oddly, I can’t seem to find clear literature on what it costs to get a new crystal. The few searches I’ve done for people needing similar service have been in the 50 — 60 $ range, so me paying 65 $ out the door didn’t seem unreasonable. As time goes on(get it, TIME?!) the value of my watch will depreciate to an extent that it won’t be monetarily worthwhile to repair it, but so long as I can get 3 — 5 more years out of the crystal that’s been installed, I’ll be a happy camper. Overall: 4 out of 5 In my limited experience with JJ, I had a decidedly pleasant encounter. I can’t speak to their selection of jewelry or how swank or sophisticated their operation looked — but they did solid work repairing my watch face.
