The pizza is great but not with a 45 – 50 min wait– and the service stinks. If they tell you it’s going to be 30 min. count on 45 – 50 minutes. Also whatever happened to courteous service-not only did I have to stop an employee to ask for my order(no greeting — much less a smile) but when I was informed by the bartender it was going to be several more min.(20) I was not even asked if I wanted a drink! Glad I’m not the owner because I would want my staff to sell drinks and food. L. F.

First visit. The food is definitely good and something I might return for if it weren’t for the service. While everyone is friendly enough, it seems like they are spread too thin and just don’t have the time to give you enough attention. I asked for tartar sauce to go with my shrimp(as that was advertised on the menu but it was served with cocktail) and never ended up getting it. Work on the service and this place would get much higher ratings!

Pizza was fantastic, service was terrible. Ordered 2 individual pizzas and was in there almost 2 hours. Normally the wait wouldn’t bother me but the waitress was so into watching the pyramid game show over the wall next to our table that I couldn’t even make eye contact. Sticking with to go is probably your best bet if you want to enjoy cornerstones for what it is– good food!

If you like bar pizza this is the place to go. They have a great menu as well and it can be a fun place.

We Went in and ordered the Buffalo Chicken Dip. BIGMISTAKE. It came out — and the sauce was bright yellow — looked like canned jalapeño cheddar cheese — in a SMALL bowl — with 3 — yes — 3 small pieces of chicken. It occurred to me in tasting this — that they had forgotten to add the red hot to this cheddar concoction — as there was ZERO«Buffalo» flavor. I motioned to the waitress and said«I think they forgot the buffalo sauce in here» to which she ARGUED — «They make it with buffalo sauce in there» — so i asked if we could possibly have some more? She dropped off a small container of it and left. No Apology — never came back to ask if it was better.nothing. Later on, this older gentleman — non to happy walks over — does NOT introduce himself — and says very gruffly — as if to challenge me — «Whats wrong with my buffalo dip?» I was taken aback. Seriously? THIS is how you speak to a customer? Not«Hi, I’m Jim, i’m the owner here, I understand there was a problem with the buffalo chicken dip?» Instead i got this gruff angry man in my face. I replied — «I couldn’t taste the buffalo sauce» — his quick and gruff retort: «I’ve never had a complaint before!» REALLY? That’s your comeback? You argue with a customer? Sir — your buffalo chicken dip was an embarrassment to all establishments who make this tasty dish. Your gruff demeanor, and rudeness are an embarrassment to the restaurant industry. I wouldnt go back here with a group-on and free limo ride. Adiós.

My wife and I stopped in for Saturday lunch. We started with a basket of fries and chili. The fries here are good and the chili is made in house. Really good. Cornerstones is really all about the pizza and fries r a good reason. They serve a south shore bar pizza much like cape cod café, Linwood, Emma’s etc. They were perfect my favorite is the meat lover. Pepperoni, sausage, bacon and hamburger. Awesome!

Excellent clam chowder and a very good mushroom and onion pizza. No idea why there are so many bad reviews here.

Pub Pizza surprisingly not great! Just moved to Carver, looking for pub pizza was excited to find one so close. We ordered four pizza’s, one BBQ Chicken, chicken was burnt and you could not even tell it was BBQ. Hawaiian pizza fyi no ham on it just a few pieces of pineapple maybe four or five. Guess you need to ask for ham on it. Mushroom and sausage surprisingly it was blah, my husbands favorite he was not happy. I got an extra cheese pie, it was the only one that was good. They weren’t that busy so I have no idea why they came out so bad. $ 45 dollars and still hungry! :( Guess we will keep looking!

I’m a little surprised at all the bad reviews. My family loves the pizza there! The pepperoni, cheese, and buffalo chicken pizza are the best. We’ve never had a problem with service and the food is reasonably priced. It’s not the best place to sit in, so I’d just recommend takeout. My dad calls it the best pizza he’s EVERHAD!

The worst! I used to love this place until they GAy bashed my wife and her best friend. Ignored, yelled at, snickered at! I would have given a negative rating if I could! So angry they did that, so rude!!!

It is what it is. Myself and most I know who live in Carver go here for a quick beer and maybe a pizza. The pizza is nothing special. It’s ok, that’s it. The appetizers you can tell are out of a box and the burgers are just a burger. I did have a big salad there one night that was pretty good. I think it was called the cornerstone salad or something. More than anything it’s a bar that hosts many regulars. The bar staff is ok, though there are a few women working it that could be friendlier. If you go here don’t expect too much. The food passes as edible, but that’s about it. If you want to spend some time watching a game here having a few drinks then you’ll be ok. If you’re looking for really good bar pizza go to The Cabin or The Central café, both 15 minutes away in Middleboro. They are two of the best around!

I had pizza to go and it was good. Simple and easy menu to choose from. Nothing to fancy. The pizza was delicious. It also has a good size bar area with lots of locals.

I have to agree with the other reviews. The pizza is pretty good, but unless you’re a regular, the service is lacking. Nothing special here.

In 100% agreement with reviews… esp Peter… he is dead on! It is unfortunate that they have a monopoly over take out in Carver… we need more options and resturaunts that are bigger than closets here also… good thing Colony Place is only a few miles down the street!

I agree it’s def a townie bar but the pizza is delicious! Try the barbecue chicken pizza or the sirloin tips! They also make strong drinks :-)

The title of best pizza in Carver is an honor akin to tallest guy at a jockey convention. Still, Cornerstone’s definitely has Mamma Mia’s and Santoro’s beat. Stopped in during dinner on Saturday night for a gift certificate and two cheese bar pizzas to go. The bar was nearly full– mostly with middle-aged locals– but many tables were empty. The décor is dark wood, expect sports on the TVs and the centerpiece of the room is a large, U-shaped bar with American macro brews as well as Harpoon IPA and Sam’s Winter Lager. The atmosphere is casual and convivial. As it took forever for the pizzas, I had plenty of time to watch plates come out of the kitchen; obviously, I can’t vouch for taste, but there was a salad plate that came out that looked great. Might be worth investigating further, although everything else seemed like pretty standard burgers-and-fries pub fare. MVP: The bar pizza. It’s a 12″ pie for one, thin crust, not very greasy. I could probably eat two in one sitting. LVP: Two Mama Celeste-sized pizzas took forty-five minutes to prepare. Call ahead and then add twenty minutes to your pick-up time. Cornerstone’s isn’t destination dining, but give the bar pizza a shot if you are rolling through town.

This was a great review, but they changed owners a few years back. After eating there many times, trying it multiple times as I understand people/places just have ‘bad days’, I just can’t go back. Even the burgers are worse than any I’ve had elsewhere. Pizza — dominos on their worse day is of higher quality(and I don’t like dominos). Very upsetting that this place went down hill so bad. — Previous review; I live in Carver, and I will be the first to say that not much goes on here. My husband and I have been going to Cornerstones for about 6 years now, pretty much once per month. The service is always great, well, unless you get one waitress I won’t name. But the food makes up for her. The pizza does take about 15 – 20 minutes to cook, but it is worth it. In my opinion, the Best Pub Style Pizza Around. And that is what you get, a Pub Style Pizza, nice thin crust that just plain old tastes great! I am also a fan of their burgers, always juicy and tender. The drinks can be a little strong, but that is never a bad thing. This is not a «fine dining» place, just a nice place to relax, have a beer, eat great pizza and other food. Cornerstones has two sides, a bar side and a sitting area. I have no problem bringing my 5 year old daughter there for lunch and dinner. Or just going with the husband. We do get take out from here every few weekends, typically add 10 minutes to what ever time they say the food will be ready, but once again, worth it. The staff seems«real» and not pasted together to look as if they are something their not, and this is what we like. I would definitely recommend this place for food and drinks! Could not give 5 stars just because of that other waitress that we get every few times and the take out could be a little faster.

If I lived in Carver I would maybe go back if I wanted a pizza and a beer. If you’re passing through, keep on passing until you get to a better place to eat. It takes them about 25 – 30 minutes to make a pizza at a slow lunch time. It is a dark and depressing bar area. So depressing I took my pizza to-go. The bartender wasn’t very friendly but to be fair, I wouldn’t want to be friendly with the crowd that was there either. Typical loud mouth sports fans and political experts. They do have Keno, so if you want a dark depressing place to try your luck, you found it! The pizza wasn’t bad but it wasn’t worth the wait.

Probably should have turned around and walked out. The minute you step into this place it is dark, with wood paneling and dim lights. The place just feels shady. Waiting over a ½ hour for something as simple as a 10″ pizza when there were NO other diners(minus those«biker» looking folks at the bar), is just plain wrong. The pizza was pretty lacking in flavor to boot. It was BUFFALO… was it spicy? Not at all. Such a disappointment. I think I saw Willie Nelson though =p
