Croissants made in house! Delicious Canadian bacon in a fresh croissant! So delicious. Was so impressed that I took the partner in dine with me for breakfast a week or so later. But, they did not have croissants available that I had to settle for a just OK brioche. Partner in dine had a similar dish but, in a crêpe. Delectable yet pricey for the portions. As for gelato, good flavors but not my favorite in the South Bay. For gelato, I favor this Italian restaurant in the industrial part of Gardena. They do have some good ones at Evan Angelos like pistachio, cookie butter, and unique Pinoy flavors depending on the day(may or may not be available) like ube, buko pandan, etc. Generous in the samples too. I stopped by recently to get an iced coffee with sugar free caramel in it. While I waited, nice vibe with some Frank Sinatra playing from their speakers. The people there are exceptional. Allen, the manager is super kind and knowledgeable. Moses is often at the Carson Farmers Market manning the gelato booth. It does take some time to get breakfast or specialty drinks to you but, they are so conscientious of bringing quality and good flavors to you, it somehow balances out. I am leaning towards more of a 3.5 overall score but, I am rounding up for the aforementioned reasons. Cheers to good stuff at Evan Angelo’s!

Heard about this place through a friend and was really excited to try it out after seeing pictures of how cute it looked(I’m a girl, these kinds of things make a place worth at least trying, lol). So when I realized it was right off the freeway by the Carson mall, I was instantly pleased because it’s easy to find, and parking is plentiful. Came in on a Monday night about an hour before closing, but despite being a weeknight, there were at least 6 people ahead of me in line, and a few who came in after. I saw this as a good sign, and coupled with the clean atmosphere, quaint décor, and polite employees, I was already sold. The gelato selection is awesome, and in comparison to the flavors posted here on Unilocal,it seems like the selection gets rotated with different flavors all the time. They’re very generous with offering samples(which in my eyes is worth five stars on it’s own), and so I tried the tiramisu and matcha, while my boyfriend tried caramel passion fruit, and a marshmallow melt flavor. All of them were great, and super super creamy. The gelatos come in three sizes, and each size up allows the option to combine more flavors(e.g. Small is one flavor, medium is two flavors, etc.). They also have the option to take the gelato to-go which is pretty cool because it’s definitely Netflix worthy snack food. In addition to the gelato, they also have assorted bakery items like cakes and pastries, as well as some bomb sounding savoury crepes which a lot of Unilocalers have posted pictures of. As far as beverages, they offer a LARGE variety of coffees and teas, with lots of options for customization which is nice. I ended up ordering an affogato, and my boyfriend ordered a medium sized gelato, all of which came out to $ 11 tip included. The espresso was good, and I’m not a coffee snob so no complaints here. Plus, the presentation was cute and definitely ‘gram worthy. My ONLY complaint is that there are a lot of things they offer, but there’s no real menu to list it all. I only knew they had affogatos by word of mouth, but now that I’m scrolling through their Unilocal,I realize that there were so many off-menu items that would have been worth trying as well. Will I come back to try those things? Of course. But it’d be nice to be able to make an informed decision about what’s available AND how much it’ll cost. Other than that though, this place is awesome and I’d definitely recommend it.

This ice cream creamery is an absolute gem! Such a quaint and clean establishment. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by an employee, already off to a wonderful start. Soon, the owner came out, who knows my friend, and offered us samples of every single ice cream in the building. It was hard to decide which was my favorite, because each one was so distinct and unique. Each gelato is made from scratch and from real ingredients. I chose the mixed berry, because that’s what I was craving at that moment. My mouth literally watered from the burst of flavor. I am also told that pizzas are sold here as well. I will definitely try those next time I visit.

New flavors every time I come in. Have never tried a flavor of gelato here that I didn’t enjoy. Sorbets are so refreshing and have a great translation of flavor. The entire store is well kept and neat. Tables and couches for dining, not cramped at all. Always a fantastic experience. My day is better after some Evan Angelo’s gelato! It’s also located near some great food spots, so I usually just head here for dessert. Looking forward to trying their crepes and breakfast/brunch selections though!

Craving for a crêpe, found this place on Unilocal.I felt that this place satisfied my crêpe craving but was just alright. Lots of «wrap» or what ever it’s called but not to much filling. Wasn’t the worse but wasn’t the best either. I also paired my crêpe with cookie butter gelato. The sample was good but having the whole scoop was overwhelming. Customer service was awesome, they allowed me to sample 2 different gelato’s but let the party in front of me try a shit ton! I’m sure if I wanted to keep going they wouldn’t have obliged. I will come back when having another crêpe craving in the future.

Yummy gelato FTW!!! This place is insane. Endless flavors means endless combination possibilities. I was dumbstruck by the flavor varieties. The sweet guy behind the counter was patient with me and offered unending samples of all the flavors. He was so funny that he snuck in some sampling for himself too. His favorite was the honeydew. I opted for the toasted marshmallow, a decision I did not regret. The serving size was super generous, so come with enough room in your tummy to indulge. I hear they have good coffee here too, but I was too focused on the gelato to notice anything else. If I’m in the area again, I will definitely make a point to drop by for a treat.

Evan Angelo’s Gelateria and Coffee Bar serves slightly-better-than-average gelatos(C+) with a huge selection of miscellaneous desserts such as crepes, paninis, coffees, and pastries. I came here only for their gelatos and you can only choose one flavor for small($ 4.25) and up to two flavors for medium($ 5.25). There are 35+ different flavors to choose from and I remembered lemon basil was one of the weirdest flavors I’ve ever tried(it was borderline between nasty and unique /acquired taste) … *** Cookie butter and black sesame(medium, $ 5.25): Very generous portion, but gelatos were a bit sweeter than other gelatos I’ve tried. Sure both flavors were pretty good(they were the best flavors out of 4~5 flavors I sampled), but texture wasn’t very dense. Cookie butter had sightly firmer texture than black sesame.(3.5÷5) *** There are naturally-sweet gelatos and there are gelatos with too much added sugar … personally I think Evan Angelo’s Gelatos belong to the 2nd category. This is probably the best gelato shop you’ll find in Carson, but there are better gelatos if you can drive all the way to downtown LA, Altadena(Bulgarini Gelato), or West Los Angeles.

I don’t have a single solitary bad thing to say about this place! Staff is really friendly! Like always smiling and asking if you need any help. I was the only person sitting down inside of the shop and was taken care of very well. The sample line is EVERYTHING! You can taste as many samples as you want and they don’t give you the weird side eye for trying too many lol. I tried cookie butter, lemoncello and lemon basil. I ended up ordering the first two but o think my favorite was lemon basil. I’ll have to get a full cup of that next time! I don’t know what took me so long to come and try this place but I will absolutely be coming back to this place! My order: A cup of Cookie butter & Lemonchello gelato with a cone on top also I ordered a pastrami panini that came with a side of Au ju sauce… everything was soooo delicious!

Exactly one year, one month and one week later, I finally told myself it was okay to walk back into this establishment. It took a lot of self-convincing that everything was going to be okay! Plus, thankfully I went with my Unilocal bae so what can possibly go wrong?! She had more patience than I did and I respected that. Service was still slow, but thanks to Fred that my second time around was more lively and enjoyable. He’s super sweet and gave us all the gelato samples we wanted – and samples we didn’t really need haha! But he was cool and hospitable. He even let us try the Hazelnut coffee(Siphon style).I’m not a huge coffee fan so I felt it was too strong but the aroma was very pleasant. We ordered two crepes – prosciutto & salami. Both had decent flavor, nothing to brag about. I wouldn’t order them again nor do I recommend either of the crepes. I really wanted to try the crab or lobster crepes but they’re only available on the weekends – Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday until supplies last. Hmm. I guess I’ll make it a mission to stop by those days but they’re really busy then. Overall, speed of service is and will always be slow. If you don’t like the crowd, go during the day. As for parking, it’s a hit or miss. Their workers actually park right upfront, taking spaces that could’ve been for a first time customer. Point taken off there, js. I do have to applaud them for their unique gelato flavors. Flavors and textures were on point even if I only sampled them. The gelatos are a solid 4⁄5. If ever I crave them, I’d drop by for a pick-me-up.

– 58⁄100 Reviews of 2016 – Fred! He’s a cool guy. Funny and kind. He will literally hand you samples and KEEP giving you samples until you’re almost full(whether you ask for it or not) LOL. He also let us sample the hazelnut siphon coffee. Hazelnut was very apparent! Smelt of deliciousness. Went with the Proscuitto Crêpe & Pastrami crêpe. The Proscuitto meat tasted and smelt old. It was also drizzled in some type of mustard, the Crêpe was a 3⁄5. On the bright side, the Pastrami Crêpe did NOT disappoint! Loved the meat and melted cheese. Originally, these crêpe selections were just paninis, but my friend accidentally kept saying«crêpe» instead of panini’s while she was ordering LOLLL, but it’s all good! They were both interesting and flavorful. The pastrami would be a 4.5÷5 for me! Service is on the slow side. Even when it’s not too busy, it’s still really unorganized. The workers should help each other out instead of just standing around in the back. Other than that, still love the gelato and food!

This place is known for their crepes and gelato. I didn’t get a chance to try their gelatos, but their crepes were delicious. I got the turkey ham crêpe and it was drizzled with one of my fav sauces(honey mustard). The place is really big and clean. There is a lot of lights, so good for your photos of your food! Big parking lot in the plaza, parking is not an issue!

Review 2÷17÷2016 Yes, I know I said I was in coming here anymore. But seriously I can’t resist the crepes here. Regardless, this place makes the best in Carson! In addition, there gelato is awesome! ~~~~~ This review is based on the fact that for probably six months now, I have been coming here to order a savory crab and asparagus crêpe. At first, I was told their kitchen was being renovated and would take about one or two months. So I waited and returned after that time. When I went back again, they told me another month or two, but they weren’t sure. Today I asked and the guy there told me he wasn’t even sure when, because none of it has even been started. Because I love this stab Lish meant, I keep coming back. As for the savory crêpe, they are so delicious that I keep trying and to keep coming back. But in the last six months or so, I’ve tried to order my favorite food, four times now and still no luck! Very disappointing! For realz now… how much longer?! ~~~New review 2/15/2016~~~ Before I go to dialysis next door, I try to stop here for breakfast. My favorite has always been there crêpes. In fact if you have read my reviews, you’ll see. This morning I go in and order my usual favorite, which is filled with fresh strawberries and drizzled with nutella on top with whip cream. So I paid and asked the guy if I could give my phone number, for the rewards. After he gave me my change, he just walked away and didn’t get my phone number for the rewards. After waiting about 10 minutes or so, he came back and then told me they were out of strawberries. I’m annoyed because it was a complete waste of time. I could have gone straight to dialysis and then my treatment, and instead I wanted to support this business and I wasted my time. He could have looked first, before charging me and making me wait! I’ve been trying to support the business because I’ve met the owners/managers, and they are awesome people. But if I’m going to be wasting my time for nothing, then I’m sorry!

With all the rave reviews, I had high expectations. I sampled a few flavors and the guy helping us was very generous. Each sample was a huge scoop! After trying a few, I ordered the rocky road and the oreo. Yes, I agree the flavors are good but not amazing. Maybe it was just too hyped? We also had a chocolate and caramel crêpe which was surprisingly really good! I’d recommend getting one with a scoop of gelato. Though they were really busy, the service was amazing! Kudos for good service!

Geez I’m so late on this review but bear worth me. Lol This place is pretty huge! Indoor dinning, patio and even a side room with tables long enough for our big Party!!! Thank you KK and Jeff for arranging amazing party!!! Love music is always a plus! ! First time here and I can’t wait to come back. The flavors as you enter dares you not to make room for dessert. Dessert is the most important meal anyone can have =x. Most of the ones I tried are really good, I forgot the names because they aren’t shy with samples but my favorite so far is pandan. Yummy! They served a buffet style for appetizers, all yummy! Shouldn’t have filled up on so many. Hahah for the main course I ordered eggplant parmesan pasta. I really enjoyed it, the flavors and texture. The texture is a bit firm but that’s how i like it! The flavor is light but enough for the eggplant to shine thru. Get the coffee!!! Oops forgot the name but the red coffee! It’s sweeter. The service is AMAZING!!! They are attentive and catered a huge party with ease. They make you feel like family! Very surpised by thier hospitality!

Ok look, I’ve never been to Italy. I’ve never even dated an Italian girl. But, I’ve always really liked pizza. Growing up, I used to play Super Mario Bros. I rooted for Italy to win the 2006 World Cup. I was also a big fan of the Sopranos. So I know what good gelato is(clearly my credentials are impeccable) and I can vouch that the gelato at Evan Angelo’s Gelateria is legit! The closest similarity I’ve had is from Chef Desyree in Vegas(formerly with Art of Flavors, now with Gelatology). Evan Angelo’s lets you sample all the gelato flavors you want, but once you have a normal serving, that’s when you come to fully appreciate how great the texture is. There are several gelato shops that serve round scoops and/or gelato that barely differentiates itself from regular ice cream. Evan Angelo’s does it the way it’s supposed to be done! Their range of offerings include flavors inspired by Hawaii(Maui Pineapple, Kona Coffee), cereal(see below), and other popular sweet snacks(S’mores, Twinkie Minions, Oreos). While their flavors are outside the traditionally established norms, most didn’t strike me as outrageously ‘way out there’ either. Some of what I’ve had: LEMONBASIL it was pretty strong, which is telling since I’m more used to this flavor in the form of a cocktail MARSHMALLOW: I ain’t afraid of no ghost, so when I was offered it said yes and think it’d pair well with chocolate or a graham cracker topping CAPTAINCRUNCH: I preferred this over their Cinnamon Toast Crunch, as the combo of corn and oats makes for one heck of a gelato flavor TARO: give this one a shot, I felt it was even better than Gelatology’s I give Desyree the edge on creativity due to some of her savory flavors, but Evan Angelo’s serves a lot more than just gelato, like pastries, paninis, and crepes. The BANANASTRAWBERRYNUTELLACREPE I had was impressively well-sized for the price($ 7.50). You can choose to add gelato to it as well! As I walked out with my Prada sunglasses on and headed back to my Maserati, I reflected back on my experience and almost felt like I was in Italy. But then I looked around and realized I was in Carson(just off the 405 near Cal State Dominguez Hills/The StubHub Center) and also remembered that I actually have an Asian car.

I’ve told many Unilocalers how I have to be in the ‘zone’ when writing my reviews. The ghetto-fab-ness just seem to come out more easily. So. It’s my second trip this week, here. Was so happy to finally make it and dang, twice in one week and the week is not even over. Uh oh. Love food porn and some of my Unilocal friends take damn good ones.(You all know who you are). Ok. First visit, was all gelato since apparently they are holding off on their crêpe inventory til a few more months.(I want the lobster crêpe, please!) I went with Ferrero rocher, almond roca, and oreo. Albeit the gentleman behind the counter allowed us to sample everything behind the glass case, I decided on these three just cuz. Texture was perfectly smooth and packed with their distinct flavor. It was really good! I was informed by a reputable and cute Unilocaler who frequents the establishment that they truly use fresh ingredients.(Yes i know the later is irrelevant but whatever). And believe me, it sure tastes like they do. My initial love for gelato started five years ago when I’d frequent SD at least once a month and spent most of my time exploring little Italy. I remember always making it a point to drop by my two favorite gelato place, Pappalecco and Café Zucchero. Yup. This is where it all started… From then on, gelato places started popping up. Even the one in my hood now, Below Zero. I was in there practically everyday until I developed immunity. Now there’s EA…40 mins away =( So my second visit was earlier today and it was to taste the highly acclaimed cookie butter mocha latte recommended from the Duke himself. I figured if he came in earlier in the day to try this and now he takes me here nearing the evening hours, this shii better be good. And yup. It was definitely damn good. Creamy but light and so savory of cookie butter flava without losing the expresso taste. It was that good. So my next plan is to have buko pandan and kona with butter cookie mocha latte in a few days. Yup. Chel will definitely be back! #ty#Jeff#xo!
