I’m a total sucker for good Basque food. The paella is out of this world! When I’m in the area, I always go here to buy my chorizo as theirs is a traditional Spanish style(so good). Did I mention their paella?! I crave this stuff… It’s a hidden gem, from the exterior you may wonder what you are walking into, it isn’t a just a restaurant, first you’ll stroll through a small but wonderful Basque market where you can peruse and purchase amazingly tender meats and gorgeous traditionally prepared chorizo. After you’re finished drooling at the market take a right through the double doors to the gates of Basque food heaven. Come hungry and bring a few grocery bags because this is a one stop shop for all things awesome!

Nice menu and staff is pleasant and fast. Chairs are not very comfy and the place is a bit loud but the food is good at a fair price.

Great find in Carson City. Fantastic food in a homey setting. Home made chorizo will knock your socks off. And don’t pass up the home made flan. Theirs didn’t disappoint.

Excellent customer service & excellent food! My husband and I had the huevos rancheros and the basque breakfast burrito with the yummy gravy sauce! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area.

When I first came here to Carson City visiting, looking around I didn’t think there was going to be any good places to eat. OK, I’ve been proven wrong. I did find a few good places and now I can add Villa Basque Deli to the list of hits! I pays to have a local guide to local eateries. I’ve never had Basque food before so it’s all new to me. As we enter, I see big freezers full of products to take home. There are tamales and various chorizo offerings. It’s all more expensive than the chorizo I see at the grocery store, but probably a lot better. I’ve had the Chorizo here before when my BF took some along for a weekend out on Lake Tahoe and we cooked scrambled eggs on the boat. This chorizo is better than any I’ve had in Oakland for sure. We arrive for breakfast and the place is pretty busy. We seat ourselves, and a server is over right away. I’m directed by the BF that I must try the chicken fried steak … not something I normally order, but well, when in Rome … I see they do fresh squeezed OJ here. When they say fresh squeezed, they really mean it, there’s a juice squeezing machine and a big pile of oranges! How cool is that? 2 large OJ’s($ 4.50ea). OK, 2 chicken fried steaks for us!($ 10.95ea) It comes with eggs, potatoes and toast. Slather all that in the gravy I’m told … OK here goes. While we wait, I can smell the lovely smells of tasty food being cooked. Looking at the other tables … this is no place for a diet! Our food arrives. OMG! That’s a huge load of food! That chicken fried steak is twice the size I’ve seen before at some truck stop on the way to LA. All covered in gravy as were the potatoes. I had my eggs lookin’ up at me, so at least there was no gravy there. OK, here goes my first bite of this famous chicken fried steak … Holy Moly and drop dead rolling over! This is some off the charts tasting gravy and steak! My feet are doin the happy dance under he table! The gravy tastes super rich, like there was a ton of butter or something in it or something. It’s not all thick and gloppy like most places have. Slightly thinner and hella super tasty! The meat is good quality as well. Not all gristly like I might expect with a cheaper cut of meat. Wow, I wonder what this gravy would be like on a Rib Eye? My eggs were cooked exactly as ordered and the home fries mixed with the gravy were most excellent! My BF was so pleased with my reaction, like his earlier this morning after we woke up! I said, there was no way I was gonna finish all this food. I left half the toast, some of the potatoes, but ate all the chicken fried steak. It may not be particularly Basque, but this sure was good! After this. I’ll never think of chicken fried steak as red neck trucker food again … like most peeps in the Bay Area do. Are we gonna get to go shoot guns next?, …since we’re eatin’ chicken fried steak for breakfast! … and we’re in Carson City! I’ll say if you are ever passing through Carson City, this is a must stop. All the other food on the menu going out to the other tables looked super tasty and, yes, quite filling.

Villa basque… One of the most amazing places I have come encountered with. At first I didn’t know what to think of this place. When walking and it doesn’t look like a restaurant. There are tables and freezers with meat in them and shells but no people. Then you take a right and there’s double doors and a lit up restaurant. When going and you can seat yourself. The waiters and waitresses have always been very pleasant! I have noticed everything there is made fresh. Here’s an example, when asking for orange juice they go and cut fresh oranges and put them through the juicer. Their food is amazing. The dish I ordered was the basque Barito smothered in gravy. When the burrito was placed in front of me it looks huge. Definitely leftover style! Taking a bite is full of flavor. There’s onions, pepper, chorizo, potatoes! Definitely something to try. My kiddo ordered pancakes. Z were mouthwatering as well. They were so fluffy and had this taste to make you want to keep eating them! Overall this is one of my favorite places to go when stopping at the capital of our state!

First of all I love Basque food! This is one of my favorite places to have lunch in the world! You walk in thru a little basque market. They have a pretty good selection of nifty little things. Most of witch seems to be sourced locally. They have a little freezer full of the best chorizo in town! They offer a small section of fresh not frozen stuff as well. Now for the restaurant part. I have the same thing every time. The house chorizo sandwich with salad and basque beans. It is why I come to Carson City! The staff it seem are all family and treat you like gold!!! You will love this place!

What a great find! We stopped in on the way into town in desperate need of lunch, and ended up here. Very friendly service, and if you want sausage(Basque Chorizo, to be specific), you’ve come to the right place. My lunch companions stayed on the Mexican side of the menu, and the grande burrito was just that — incredibly huge. I decided that I couldn’t avoid trying the chorizo, and I was happy for the decision. It’s not your typical Spanish/Mexican chorizo, it’s much more mild with different layers of spices. I had it in a sandwich, and it was great. I went with the salad and after being a bit surprised that their house dressing was V&O, I heard the waitress telling another table about the spicy Italian. I asked her for some to try and she looked at me very seriously and said«it’s very, very hot. You should try just a little first.» I assured her that I could handle heat, and I was glad I’d asked — it was infused with habaneros and was out of this world. This is a cute little place with good service and great food at reasonable prices. If you’re ever in this neck of the woods, you should give it a try.

On customer service alone this place is top notch. They genuinely care about every detail. Sweetest people ever and they take great pride in this place. Now the food is unbelievably delicious and with every bite I had to order more. And like being a home they gladly kept serving each dish with more and more excitement. The sound of the people and the gorgeous snow capped mountains made this the best way to start off a Saturday… as far as I am concerned every day. Folks don’t let this place get away… Best Breakfast in Carson!

Came today for late breakfast and I ordered the chorizo rancheros and my husband ordered the spinach omelette and coffee. They’ve a very good orange juice! The orange juice are so sweet, not with sugar because the slice of orange was sweet. The best fresh squeezed orange juice that I ever had. My food was delicious. No left over, was hungry plus it was delicious especially the chorizo! My husband’s food was good nothing special, their home fries are advertised as made with onion and bell pepper. But they were barely any in them. Coffee was good. Service was nice & friendly and the other server always refill the coffee and water. This place was always pack!

The staff here is very customer service oriented and they value and appreciate their customers. One of my big things is the cleansliness of a place its kinda part of my OCD and this place is plenty clean. Its a deli and a restaurant so you can eat some food and pick up some Chorizo to take back home. I highly recommend the Chorizo Quesadillas those things are so good you will not be dissapointed. The whole Menu is good, I particularly like the breakfast menu but trust me on the Quesadillas.

I had been told for the longest time that I needed to come here. That they had the absolute best chorizo and delicious breakfast food. Finally made it in and place was pretty busy but my friends and I decided to try it out anyway. Sat down looked over the menu 10 minutes later no one had come to our table. I saw a line at the cash register and began to wonder if we had to go order ourselves. A few more minutes and we saw a man carrying some waters so we asked him and he said our waitress would be over. He took our drink order. 5 or so minutes later still no drinks and still no waitress. When our waitress did finally show up, she was polite but I wouldn’t say particularly friendly. Lucky for us we got our food quickly. I got the breakfast burrito which was good but not very special. The chorizo in it was pretty flavorless. Also for the huge burrito I got one tiny sauce container of salsa? The salsa was just as bland as the burrito. My friends were also disappointed with their food choices and had the same complaints: bland, little flavor. I don’t quite know what all went wrong. I really wanted to like this place. Maybe the poor service lead to the disappointment in the food. I’m not sure but this was definitely a huge disappointment.

They welcome you at the door and tell you sit where every you like. I’m like great I am freaken starving! The staff is friendly and inviting. The tables are already set with menus so you can just sit down and start looking at all the good stuff. The quality of the food is excellent and it comes in a very timely manner. Waiting time for the food isn’t long. Which was crazy because we were there during lunch time. I got this Sheepers Cheese Burger oh man! I can still taste it in my mouth. I will say thing I would actually drive to Carson City, Nevada to eat their food here. Great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. When I was eating my burger it was messy and it was a 5 napkin job. Man I usually only use 1 – 3 napkins. Messy business but it was good. Would definitely good again and again. So far I have only been there for breakfast and lunch but if their dinner is anything like their lunch and breakfast it will probably be delicious too. Also I would suggest not to coming here hungry or starving because you will want to order EVERYTHING! I know I almost did today. Well I hope this helps you, thanks for reading my review.

The other day we were on are way to Reno to do some shopping, and, as luck would have it, we were hungry. My wife’s never been to Villa Basque, and this was my chance. I could experience lunch, and she could have her first visit. It was, in my mind, the perfect storm(wrong word, but ‘situation’ seems a lot less graphic). Anyway, lunch is a new experience, and so worth it. Lea had a burrito and I had the basque cheeseburger. The waitress offered to bring Lea’s burrito ‘wet’, and she chose the green sauce. It was an outstanding decision, as I was able to have some of it like it was a soup, very tasty. The basque cheeseburger features a single pattie of chorizo. I opted into the french fries and not the salad, which are offered as choices with the burger. The fries also served well as a vehicle to transfer green sauce from my wife’s side bowl to my mouth. There will be those that wonder about the ‘five star’ rating. It’s all about the food and the friendly folks that work there. It’s not about a lot of the other things that folks often find so important. This is great food, reasonably priced, and served by nice people. An example of this was that when they found out it was my wife’s first visit, they brought her out a little sample of the chorizo. We suffered, and we’ll be back.

I’ve had a lot of chorizo in my life, and the chorizo at Villa Basque has to be near the top. I had the Basque burrito which came with a hearty helping of eggs, potato, cheese, grilled onions& peppers, and of course, chorizo. The chorizo was not greasy at all. It was nice to not have a puddle of chorizo grease on my plate and hands. I gave it my all, but I couldn’t quite finish the whole burrito. I definitely didn’t even think about food a long time after devouring 90% of it.
