I have to admit, I was a little hesitate based on the reviews but in the end am glad I tried this place. I went here just after lunch time and it was empty inside. I ordered a Po boys dinner plate with pulled pork on a french bun with a side of beans and potato salad. The beans weren’t that good at all and tasted like they were from a can but that is my only complaint. The potato salad was to die for! The sandwich was very good with the basic sauce they have out to pour over it. There was a lot of sauce choice that is prob not needed. The meat tasted good but wasn’t the best I had. The free ice cream tasted pretty good too. On a side note I tend to get sick easily and this place didn’t leave me running for the john. All in all, I will be back but Hammonds in Glen Rose still holds the BBQ title.

The food was great! Ribs were falling off the bone, brisket was smoked to perfection and the Kansas City Sweet bbq sauce was a hit. I got comfortable and put my silverware down and got to work. Lol! I will definitely be back as I found a new spot to pick up some ‘Q’.

Seeing cop cars parked out front along with several mail trucks are tell tell signs that this place is the local hangout for Bbq. Former pizza joint turned Bbq restaurant with big smoker pit installed in the middle of the kitchen. Probably at this location at least ten years. It has the typical run down Bbq restaurant look. For original Dallas Bbq this place does it right most of the time. The veggies are the average bbq buffet line standards with nothing special other than the okra. On the other hand the ribs, chicken, ham, brisket, turkey and sausage are all pretty good to excellent. The best is when they have just taken it out of the smoker. I always try to get what’s fresh when I order at any Bbq restaurant. Marshalls does tons of catering and to go orders so they turn their meat often.

Very good BBQ and cheap. Don’t go to Dickeys, come here. The baked potato is very tasty.

I was charged $ 9.00 for a baked potato that was crappy. It was only worth maybe $ 4. I got a small portion of meat and a small portion of every thing else. I will not be going back to this place.

Not very good. Staff with Long filthy hair. A lady manager or owner who looks very grumpy, purple hair. Meat dry. Too many weird sauces. Won’t be back. Place needs a good scrubbing and fixing up.

Great everything! From turkey to sausage, brisket to baked potatoes, this is by far the best BBQ we have had in a long while. Juicy everything, Nothing overcooked. Loved the sides and free cherry pie! Alvin helped us and was really friendly. We will be back!

Been a long time overdue to eat here. Went through the drive thru… large serving sizes. We got the Mae West small plate which comes with two sides for $ 8.50, combo plate w 2 – 3 meats and 2 sides for $ 11, and the rib sandwich plate with 2 sides for $ 11. Only complaint was the rib sandwich still had the bones in it… Is that right? All three meals came with Texas toast and is yummy! Turkey breast, ribs, sausage and chopped brisket all good!

I had the combo plate. This gave me a grande opportunity to choose 3 meats and 2 sides. And the winners are brisket(don’t do it. It was tender but very very dry. The bbq sauce could even make it moist), sausage(you could taste the smoke flavor but you can also taste the same flavor in store bought sausage), and the final meat was ribs(tender with a lot of smoke flavor. I didn’t really get any other flavors out of the rib. I’m not sure they use a rub but it they do they put on a lite amount. What stood out to me is they will let you bring your own meat and they will smoke it for you. Yes for a fee, but if you are looking to show off some of your seasoning skills on a budget this should work out for you.

They have great pinto beans! One of the only places in Dallas you can find them. So many have BBQ beans. Ick! I like their sausage sandwich with okra and peach cobbler. They aren’t cheap, the décor is nothing special(it actually looks a bit questionable from the street but what good BBQ place doesn’t?) and service isn’t Ritz but the food is good! I also like that they have a drive-thru!

Awesome BBQ! Love the sausage and brisket. Their sauce is very good as are the pinto beans and okra. The peach cobbler is the best I’ve tasted. I don’t care what the décor looks like.

I moved into the area recently, and being always on the lookout for new BBQ joints, was excited to see what looks like a mom and pop joint near my home. My daughter was asleep in the car after picking her up from the baby sitter, and I needed to pick up something through a drive thru, so I got the chance to try Marshall’s. It was awful. Pros: Picking up food was quick, and the lady in the drive thru was nice. Cons: The food. The brisket was dry and bland, the sausage looked and tasted like rubber, the chicken was also dry and had no flavor other than smoke, and the pulled pork was so foul I couldn’t eat it. The sauce is thin and had little flavor. The barbecue beans were inedible and the green beans seemed to be of the canned variety, with nothing added. Even the«Texas toast» was just a piece of soggy buttered bread. I am shocked that NOTHING was even decent. You’re much better off eating at Dickie’s. Or a McRib. That makes me sad.

Went here for the first time at lunch time… Place was empty. Hmmmm… Everything was BLAH, including the décor. I believe them when they say ‘since 1965′ ha! The best part was there was nothing to drink except tea. I hate tea and then she wanted to charge me for it! I got my water from the car lol. Save your money and go elsewhere. Decent at best.

Marshall’s Bar-B-Q is a great BBQ place in Carrollton. Love the fact that every Tuesday, you get a free slice of appie pie. The brisket is delicious, and I really enjoy getting the brisket tacos. It is a cafeteria style dinning. Great place to go grab a quick bite to eat, and the prices are decent.

I have been coming here for over 15 years and they are still great! The inside is a little dated but rustic and country fun loving, sorta like some of the old Mr. Gatti’s were back in the day … The food here is always fresh(or seems to be pipping hot!), the sides are always larger than expected and we never finish all of them even when having the whole family over for dinner! 1.The brisket is to die for! 2. The pulled pork!(FAMILYFAVORITE) as are the jalapeño sausages as well *The jalapeño sausages are amazing! * Sorry I had to say it twice

Oh why, oh why did I ever want to try Marshall’s BBQ? Location, a drive thru or maybe all of the good reviews? As I lay here in bed and am thinking ahead, to what my wonderful night might entail, I feel the need with a great sense of speed, to tell you all about my experience. Thank me in good time when you pass on this rhyme to warn others of a truly avoidable instance. Enough of my rhyming now– down to business since its going to be a long night… Marshall’s is located within walking distance of my new home and why not try out some local eateries in the area? I’m new in town– from AZ and finding good BBQ was rather difficult there. A Rudy’s finally opened about 6 months ago and they think that’s the best in the world… So I thought Texas = Damn good BBQ on almost every corner. Marshall’s had 3.5 so I figured we were safe. No so much… My stomach is doing a samba dance the my beau’s bottom has driven me from the room. The idea of a drive thru BBQ place is awesome! Too bad the food really didn’t live up to the reviews as promised. Nothing tasted«right» and all of it was far from good. And $ 30 for two meals without any adult beverages?! I feel like I was kicked in a rather sensitive place– my wallet! Let’s start with the brisket– dry, flavorless, tough and very lean. The ribs were falling off the bone… But they were flavorless and the outside skin was charred and hard. Good red color. The«spicy» sausage wasn’t spicy and was dripping with oil. It tasted like they put onions or something else that wasn’t supposed to be in them in them. The baked beans tasted like tomato sauce… Gross. I rather have the Bush’s baked beans flavor(as put in another review) .The gravy was again flavorless. The mashed potatoes had some potato chunks(which I liked), but the consistency was not the same throughout. Part was thick, the other was thin almost runny. The bread… This was gross, smelled like butter(wait for it) but after letting it sit for about 5 minutes, it turned a dark weird saturated color and when pressed it leaked oil out. A little too much butter. The okra was ok– you could turn each piece over and the bottom was still very oily. Put some pepper or salt on them before you fry them! The interior décor is beyond outdated or even kept up. The stained glass around the ceiling lights were broken, cafeteria style seating was jumbled between three areas and to exit, you have to walk back through the entry line. Ok so the best part was the free ice cream. That tasted good! Although as mentioned above, 1 hour later my significant other and I are both having stomach issues. I really REALLY had high hopes or even on par hopes for this place but I don’t think we will be back after this. I can get ice cream and the runs for cheaper than $ 30 at a lot of other places.

I consider Marshals to be my culinary bootie call — Feeling peckish — Drive through, 1 lb BBQ Turkey — — Boom! I would not consider myself a BBQ aficionado, however its handy having this place so close to where I live. Ive been all through the menu, and have dined in as well as taken away. There isn’t anything I don’t like on this menu — Its all good. I do however have to make a special mention of the BBQ Turkey. My GF has tried to make me eat Turkey mets for a long time for health reasons.(She tries in vain). With Marshalls BBQ Turkey however there is no trying — its just super tasty and moist. I frequently buy LB or so, and have it on morning toast with avocado or fresh tomato. If you are a local to Carrollton, you often see the Marshals folks supporting local fund raisers and event by providing lunches — I like businesses that get out into the community. Thumb Up — Marshalls Oh if you dine-in Kids get access to the unlimited soft serve ice cream machine(adults too) —

Marshall’s has the BEST smoked turkey and baked potatoes. I think they smoke the potatoes because they are just delish. The pulled BBQ chicken is good too, but the turkey is amazing. The staff always treats me well. They have a frequent diner card too so pick one up while you’re there.

Drive through was quick and friendly and the menu was big enough to make me happy, with maybe 10 or so side options. I was actually really intrigued by a sign advertising turkey leg/sausage on a stick on the same parking lot, so I’ll be going back to check that out at some point. Problem #1: There was a distinct whiff of dog poop(literally) when I opened my pulled pork sandwhich, and although it eventually dissipated, it was enough to make my stomach turn right off the bat. The okra was good and a large serving, but the potato salad could have used more flavor. The beans tasted exactly like bush’s beans, which I could have made at home for less. The pork was moist but lacked flavor and the sausage was just downright bad, tasting a little like bad hillshire farms. I was super disappointed in my visit — I’ve actually been wanting to try the place for months, and was almost completely let down. Kudos on the okra, but everything else was bleh.
