We had a pretty terrible visit all around. There were about 11 of us that visited for a birthday party and it started off okay despite the sewer smell in the lobby. The karaōke selection was okay and the system was fine. However, the drinks were awful — I’m actually convinced that there was something wrong with what the manager gave us.(As if he put rubbing alcohol in the drinks. After one drink, which tasted terrible, incredibly strong, but without any actual«I just had a really strong drink» feelings afterward, I spent the rest of the night at home awake all night trying not to throw up. Not from the typical«drinking too much» kind of sick, rather, I felt like I had been poisoned.) The drinks are each $ 8 — with a very small selection but honestly I wouldn’t trust anything from this place again. To finish that bit off, he didn’t ID any of us, despite the fact that we are all hovering right around 21 and actually laughed when someone offered their ID. Finally, when we went to pay out the manager/single employee in the entire place was incredibly difficult. He wouldn’t let us pay for our drinks individually as we ordered them and has a «4 split maximum» on the check. Which was not mentioned to us prior to ordering or when we each asked to pay for our drinks individually. Ultimately, some of us used cash but one person had to pick up the tab for all of our drinks because he wouldn’t let us split the tab. Seriously, just don’t go here. It was gross, smelly, dirty, cheap, and an all around terrible experience. EDIT: Forgot to mention that there was no air conditioning in the room we were placed in. The hallway was cool but the room was boiling — the whole time everyone in the room was sweating.

I’ve been here multiple times and each time is always fun. I can’t comment on the menu because I usually eat at Omi or another restaurant in the area. I will say that the last time I went the music selection was very up to date and the attendant was very nice. The rooms are nice; there’s two screens and a spinning light ball along with a tambourine and the standard mic’s and remotes. This is way out of the way for me, but if I’m ever in the area and want to have some fun, I stop by.

First off, my review is colored by the fact that I have only been to this type of Karaōke in the Philippines. My husband has been to some in Dallas’s K-Town. We went here with some friends after getting Korean BBQ in the same area. The door is super misleading on where it actually is and takes you down a bizarre hallway — not the best entrance. The rooms are nice enough — it seems all the videos are Korean, which would have been nice to have some American ones mixed in as I have seen in the past. The song selection was pretty good only a handful of songs we couldn’t find. Also the remote was all in Korean so that took some time to get use to as our group didn’t know Korean. Service wasn’t very good, they didn’t bring us menus or really come back much to check our orders. They serve hard liquor and soju, but no wine which was a little weird. Their yogurt soju was really good which we love to get when at Korean places, but it was a little over priced. We had a really good time and it seems they have a lot of rooms so i doubt you would ever have to wait. It is fun and I recommend it(if you are in the north suburbs), but don’t expect anything extraordinary here.

The place is okay, its really big and has tons of rooms, so never have to worry about waiting. But easy to get confused and lost cause all the rooms look the same and hard to navigate the halls. The songs arnt really kept up to date either.

Good selection of songs and I really like their location. On the other hand the service sucks(we were not walked to the room instead the worker told us «first room to the right» then we sat there for about 5 minutes without either worker explaining to us how to work the machine plus they didn’t bring a controller into our room until one of us asked for one. How are we suppose to pick songs without a controller… The rooms are also really hot, we had to open the door between a couple of songs every now and then and fan the room. With that being said it’s the closest karaōke place to my house with decent songs. But this place is definitely not comparable to The Mermaid karaōke(if only they were closer…) But sadly I will be coming here again just because the location is so convenient. Would give them 2 stars but they had clean restrooms so 3 stars! P. S. They don’t put«gloves» over their microphones, not sure how sanitary that is.

Terrible! It took us two hours to get our drink order. When we went to pay… before even getting our change… the guy rudely asked, «What…no tip!!!» Who the f*** ask for a tip before getting change back. First of all… He didn’t even show us a bill and why 3 cokes, 2 bottled water, and four hours cost $ 150…and second… let me pay you before you jump down my throat for a tip(a tip that wasn’t deserved). Bottom line… never go here if you want anything above decent service. There’s plenty of other karaōke bars with less hassle and better atmosphere. Just terrible… never again!

Even doe i’m korean, i’ve never been a fanatic of karaōke. I typically go for events or if the majority of a group wanna go. KTX is located in the Super H-Mart area, the new K-Town. Rates are a bit pricey but they do have decent sized rooms for different group sizes. The music library is extensive… from your taiwanese songs to kpop to Drake. Pretty much you gotta come here plastered cause honestly, no one will care that you can’t hit that high note when you attempt to sing Mariah Carey — My All when they are hammered.

This place ain’t bad. It’s the closest Korean Karaōke place to me so I prefer going here instead of Harry Hines area. They have rooms with various size depending on the number of people. The rooms are named based on the cities in DFW, I guess that’s cute. But here are a few complaints I have. The width between the tables and their comfortable sofas are so small it’s annoying, I need more space for my legs and to walk on. There should be more mic. available for bigger rooms. All rooms comes with 2 mics. The food here isn’t good, and the parking lot outside is dark and scary, it needs more lights. The ladies restrooms is always wet on the floor. I don’t think it’s urine, but maybe the pipe is leaking from somewhere. The staff needs to check on the restrooms more often to replenish toilet paper and paper towels. This place is only a few yrs old, so they need to maintain it better. For the prices, I really don’t know compare to Norazo or Family Karaōke(the other 2 places we go to also). Despite all the negative things I wrote, I do have a good time whenever I’m here, so I guess that’s what matters. I hate singing ‘cux I’m pretty tone-deaf, but with some soju, I’m having a blast. FYI, they only have soju here b/c the bar/club that used to be connected to this place closed down. They have a lot of songs that are pretty current in English. Vietnamese, Chinese(Mandarin/Cantonese), and of course Korean.

Don’t come here. I have been here multiple of times and most of the time I had a decent to great time. only because of the people I went with. Service has been on the bad side most of the time but has been decent couple of times. The first time we went, they overcharged us on «accident» so they gave us a «coupon» for next time. The guy who looks like the owner just scribbled some stuff on a business card only after we confronted him when he tried to convince us that it was correct. The bill was incorrect more than once so I was starting to feel it really wasn’t an accident but I started telling everyone to check the receipt carefully before you sign it. I put up with their hot rooms and their lack of new songs PLUS the prices and all that because of the location is so convenient but after last Sunday night, NO more. I went with 3 other people and we sang for like 4 hours and drank quite a bit. We had a really good time but I found out that they charged us gratuity… WTF? 4 people on a Sunday night when it was empty… This has never happened before. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Too bad I found out about this after the fact because the bf snuck out and paid for the whole thing while the rest of us were still singing. He was also quite tipsy and just accepted their answer when he asked them about the gratuity on the bill.-_– They really need to build another karaōke place in the H-mart area because this place is shady as fuck.

Came here a couple of times Their pricing isn’t bad, $ 20/hour, they have full service food and drink menu at decent prices. But compared to family Karaōke, they’re a bit lacking in the sound and song quality. The song menu isn’t as quite updated to the latest hits. There’s no English remote here, so you have to figure your way around. Overall, it’s an alright place, they’re not as strict as family Karaōke, you have an easier time reserving during the weekend.

It was possible to get a reservation an hour or two before we wanted to arrive on a Saturday night, so that was nice. I didn’t understand what other reviewers meant when they said it’s designed like the dart, but once there, it became obvious. The rooms are laid out along a winding hallway that is labeled to mimic the Dart lines. The rooms are labeled with city/place names, and each contain a few couches, a big coffee table, two mics, one tambourine, two books which list the songs, and a keyboard device that you use to input the codes for the song you want to sing. The song list was almost impossible for me to navigate as the lighting in the room we had wasn’t very bright, and the songs were sorted by song title, not artist. Additionally, only about 15 pages of the 100 page book listed songs in English, though there were assuredly other songs in English but they were listed in other parts(there are separate sections for the Phillipines, Vietnam, Korea, and Japan). Each room has two doors, one that goes to the hallway and another that goes to the bar area. If you press the button on the wall a waitress will come to you, or you can just waddle out to the bar area yourself. Well drinks were $ 6, which is a little pricey but I get it, it’s a destination not a bar. There were a few dudes smoking at the bar, which I guess is allowed in Carrollton, but the ventilation was good so you couldn’t really even smell it. The waitress and folks at the front door were perfectly nice to us, though both the women’s and men’s restrooms lacked toilet paper and the soap was almost entirely gone as well. The sound systems in the rooms are loud enough, and the microphones have echo effects so your horrible singing sounds less bad. One of our mics ran out of batteries half way through our time there, and the tambourine had batteries in it, but what function these batteries took I have no idea. It looked like it should have lit up or something, but no light effects were seen. Overall, our visit(7 of us for 2 hours) cost $ 60 plus drinks, which isn’t too bad. We did all have a good time, and it’s close enough to the HMart plaza that you could stop by here after dinner and waste an hour singing songs from the 90s. The price per hour varies according to how many people are in your group — which presumably maps onto how big of a room they give you. I heard the bartender quote someone $ 25 for 5 people per hour.

The interior is decorated like the Dart system. Each room is a dart station. Decorations are ok, more modern. That’s probably the only good thing. The bar is completely bare with more than half empty bottles. Drinks are overpriced, think a vodka tonic was over $ 7. Limited English song selection, Family Karaōke definitely has more songs. It was a Friday night and only 3 rooms were occupied… it was dead.

I dunno, guys. I went in here a couple of weeks ago and the sound was seriously horrible in the room I was in. The reverb was turned up so high that it was almost unbearable, like… hurting my ears. And they don’t update their songbooks. The most recent monthly update in the book was from, like, 2010. I usually don’t care that much about that, but I had a Japanese song I wanted to sing and that’s not searchable. So I had to go on the Ziller website on my phone and find the number for it… seriously, lame.

Not too fond of Karaōke, but my friends really enjoy this place. It’s close to a variety of korean restaurants so it’s convenient. It was a bit crowded on Saturday night, but good thing my friend called to reserve a room! There’s a button in the room so if you need anything, service is there right away. Their yogurt soju is pretty good and if you order a dozen beers, they put it in an ice bucket for ya(smart move!) They have a small bar+wine area and then a small«club» area with a decent sized dance floor. There were a bunch of booths and maybe 2 – 3 private cabana-like rooms which were pretty much all filled up, but no one was dancing(music was pretty good though). Oh, and in the club area you can smoke so I guess that’s a plus for smokers… anywho, price is decent and room sizes are decent as well. They pretty much have all the latest songs and the couple times we have been here we’ve never had a malfuction with the machines. Overall, a good place to hang out with friends :)

My boyfriend really encouraged me to give this place a positive review. Why? Because we were expecting the worst based on previous reviews, but we actually had a great time with excellent service! We came here on a Monday night and got a small room, which had 1 large flat screen, 2 mics, and 2 song books. I agree the couch cushions were a little hard, but it wasn’t entirely uncomfortable. The room was clean and well-kept. The person who escorted us to our room showed us how to use the keypad, which is entirely in Korean. But it’s the standard keypad, so it was easy to use. They do have updated songs in the orange section, where newer songs in every genre are constantly added. You just have to search for them. Service was really fast. They have a brown button in each room that you press when you want service, and someone attended to us immediately. Besides that, no one will randomly come in to check on you. Which is awesome because they really just leave you alone and let you sing your heart out in private! We were there for a little more than 3 hours, had a $ 13 bottle of soju, and our total bill came to $ 80– so $ 20/hour. No language issues either. We also received a card that is stamped at each visit. After 5 visits, you’ll get one hour free. Not too bad. So, if you’re far from Royal Ln., KTX is worth a shot!

Thank goodness for being able to speak korean. They ended up double booking when we called to reserve. How do you resolve a booking whose name is not ours but the phone number is? Well after the confusion, we finally got a room. Apparently it was the«VIP» room at $ 35/hour. First of all, we didnt want a VIP room — it was their fault for double booking us and we get hit with a $ 35 room charge?! That VIP room was so raunchy, who in the right mind wants to karaōke with a huge glass window on one end of the room and want to see the club with go go dancers and a huge sausage fest next door?! That was really awkward. It wouldn’t have been bad if it was a one way mirror but nope! The club goers could definitely see through the room. I don’t like the music that gets played with the songs. It also doesn’t help me with my singing because I’m already off key. If the beat isn’t really the way the song actually sounds, then I’m definitely off the charts and that’s embarrassing making the whole karaōke experience not enjoyable. We complained and got them to discount the«VIP» room to $ 30 an hour, I was not going to budge but my friends decided to just go with $ 30 an hour as it only came out to be $ 7 per person anyways. Still, I could have gotten that lowered because I hated that room.

What are looking for in a Karaōke place? Large selection of songs? Check. Updated song list? Relatively check. Clean environment? Double check — it’s brand new. Reasonable prices? Check. At $ 30/hour it’s quite good. Considering that we had 12 people in the room.(For larger parties, they’ve got a monolithic 4-screen-room that’s big enough for at least 30.) Cost of liquor? Probably higher than you’d like but still within reason($ 7 mixed drinks, $ 5 Shiner, $ 20 soju). Overall, I’m impressed. Compared to MAC, I’d rather be at KTX. [Original Visit: January 2, 2011]
