What a lovely little find. Don’t let the name fool you, this place is not like a NYC newsstand that sells a few magazines out of a cart. Horton’s is an excellent coffee shop that sells books, novelties, jewelry, and treats. This is a great place to order a frap, some chai, coffee and read the newspaper or novel, work on a paper, or chat with a friend. Very relaxed atmosphere which makes it easy to fall in love with.
This is definitely a way better alternative to any starbucks in town, so I would seriously suggest you do yourself a favor and undermine the status quo and check out this great local place!
A tip: the owners seem to really love cats, so you will encounter them at the store. Don’t think feline fest, but there’s at least one or two. They’re nice and well behaved, but be wary if you have allergies (as I do), and take your coffee to go!
