The best thing about the dining here was that the server removed the $ 17 charge for one silly glass of wine. .Very overpriced mediocre meal. Nothing here warranted the exorbitant prices. Sorry we wasted our time. M. …

Located in Bretton Arms Inn at the Mt Washington Resort. Quaint white inn tucked in the woods near the stables. Horses are about. This is a fine dining experience. The dining area accommodates a few. We sat in the corner against a window with garden view. Our chairs were big velvety captain seats that we sank into. Our many servers(main, bread, water etc) acted with proper decorum without seeming stuffy. We ordered the Jonah Crab Ravioli appetizer and the Duo of Beef. They started us with complimentary piece of bread. Choice of a triangle of raisin bread or a piece of baguette. The breads were average, nothing oustanding. The butter sprinkled with Himalayan Sea Salt. Then, they had us taste Salmon Crostini. The crostini was stale and the salmon was smoked, strong tasting. Next, was Lemon Ice, palette cleanser. The ravioli was flavorful and perfectly executed. Lump crab and pasta fresh. When you create the perfect bite on your fork, the experience is divine. Bursts of citrus and textures from foam and emulsion. One of the best dishes I’ve tasted. The duo was less impressive. The Brussel Sprouts were vibrant green and not bitter. The short rib was too salty. The filet was done beyond medium rare, not our preference. We ordered MR. The priciest dish was a disappointment. Although, I will state that both pieces of meat were so tender I was able to use my butter knife to cut since they did not bring out a steak knife. I thought they were making a statement with the butter knife. We finished with a piece of White Chocolate Fudge with Dried Cherry. Nice ending along with hot steamed towels.

I can only comment on the dining experience. Everything was outstanding from kerry who was serving my table to the amazingly fresh and superbly prepared food. This is a must stop for foodies. As it was expensive I only had two dishes. Both were creatively prepared. I would return here often if I lived in the area. I highly recommend eating here. Good for special occasions and romantic dinners.

A friend and I stayed at the Bretton Arms for 2 nights. The second morning of our stay, we ate at the dining room downstairs(first morning, we went up the hill to the gigantic buffet at the Mt. Washington Resort). Atmosphere is definitely a «dining room» more than a restaurant, but very comfortable, no complaints. I liked everything I ordered, especially the homemade waffle(which, up the hill at the Mount Washington Resort’s giant breakfast buffet was made from a disgusting pre-made mix). The hash browns were nothing to write home about. Price matched to the quality of the food. Service was fine. Definitely worth a try.

Had breakfast here with the family. Pricey but excellent. Cuisine, presentation and particularly service were all awesome.

Wow. Such a phenomenal meal! My boyfriend and I stayed at Omni Mt Washington Resort last week and decided to treat ourselves a fancy dinner before the end of our vacation. We were so glad that we chose Bretton Arms. Bretton Arms exceeded our expectations in all manners possible. The service was superb. The soft background music quite hit home. And the mostly importantly, THEFOOD. For appetizers, we had the Italian chicken soup and scallops. The soup was so rich in flavor and the scallops were so fresh and perfectly seared. Complimentary bread was soft and warm. I literally used the bread to mop every single bits on my plate. We shared the artisan salad, easily one of the most delightful salad I have ever had. Then we were given a scoop of apple sorbet to «cleanse our mouth before entrée.», an experience I’ve never had in other high-end fancy restaurants. I was totally blown away by the sorbet. A refreshing combination of sweet and sour. I liked it so much that I had it for dessert later :) We had the wild american shrimp quinoa and duck breast with blueberry sauce for our entrees. Not a huge fan of quinoa or blueberry sauce, but I enjoyed both entrees a lot. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a unforgettable dinning experience in Bretton Woods.

Ate breakfast here this am. I had Steel Cut Oats and Fruit. Very good(although hard to mess up!) presentation was nice:) Atmosphere is very nice! My partner had a skillet. Eggs with spinach served over potatoes. In a cast iron dish. Very tasty and nice presentation. They Finish with a complimentary berry parfait. Very nice! We have eaten here several times while staying at the inn. Always great service and consistent food! A definite recommend!

Great food, although only had six choices for the main meal to choose from. Soup of the day was excellent as was the Caesar salad. I like how in between appetizer and main meal they give you a small sorbet to refresh your palate. Kids meals are same size as adult so now you know the plates are not too big. I would recommend but not with kids.

For all the rave reviews this place received I was expecting an amazing restaurant. However Bretton Arms Dining Room is nothing amazing. I don’t think it’s a bad restaurant but certainly not what everyone has hyped this place up to be. The service here is very good(best I had while staying at Bretton Woods), even though our hostess kept switching up who ordered what, she was appropriately apologetic and attentive throughout our service. The most important part of a meal is the food itself. I had ordered the trout almondine, one of the most classic dishes you could order. While the fish was perfectly executed in terms of cookery, it was unfortunately bland and I did manage to find two bones in my fish. Not that I would mind if I was served a whole fish but when you’ve prepped it to include all the bones, that is just a little bit sloppy for a fine dining establishment. The other downside was we were seated fairly close to the bar and the patriots of course had to be playing. Sitting down to a nice meal while a few drunk guys are screaming at the TV isn’t what I would call ambiance. On the bright side the chairs were super comfy at the very least.

The meal that I had at this resturant is in my all time top 5. I travel extensively, and just started writing reviews. This place deserves one. The dining room is small and intimate, very nice for a get-away dinner. I ordered the heirloom tomato app. Fantastic. Perfectly ripe, perfectly seasoned. For dinner I had the special venison loin, with quash purée, carrots, wild mushrooms, and green beans. Simple dish, very very well executed. Venison was cooked to perfection, veggies were incredible. Desert was a perfect puck of cheese cake, on top of almond bachlava, drizzled with maple syrup. Service was top notch. Wine was fantastic and at a great price. What a place. Perfect meal. Strongly recommend if you are in the area.

Excellent food, wonderful service, beautiful setting. We have stayed and dined at the Omni Mt. Washington resort in the past and have always been pleased. Bretton Arms, their smaller B and B style inn did not disappoint. I had a lobster arancini appetizer that was basically a rice ball with some small pieces of lobster rolled in panko crumbs and flash fried. Nice flavor but the garlic sauce was a bit strong for my pallet. Wife had scallops that were broiled to perfection. Couldn’t have been better. I had filet mignon. Perfect. Juicy, flavorful with a great grilled flavor. Sides, asparagus, sweet potato fries all delicious. Presentation and service was wonderful. Knowledgeable and accommodating. Desert; chocolate(flour less torte) cake had four adults almost in tears because it was so good. Trio stapler was also delicious. It is a small dining room but as all the Mt. Washington properties very well appointed and very comfortable with great views. Very cozy and intimate.

My best friend and I stayed at the Bretton Arms Inn for the weekend and were delighted to find the Dining Room tucked in to one corner of the Inn! Our first night, we made reservations for dinner and had such a great experience that we came back the next night! Breakfasts were included with our rooms, so we ate two breakfasts as well. The first night, we split the lobster risotto appetizer. Before it arrived, we were treated to an amouse bouche — I can’t recall what it was but remember it being delicious — and to a selection of bread. Three large lumps of lobster risotto arrived, sitting in a creamy sauce. It was just the right amount of food for an appetizer! After a lemon sorbet palate cleanser, we split the duck. I’ve never had duck before but it was delicious! It came on very fine large slices of rutabaga and beet, which I usually don’t like but really enjoyed as a complement to the duck. I would have loved more duck to eat, but since we split the meal I couldn’t really complain. For dessert, we ordered the off the kid’s menu — we’d seen someone next to us tucking into an «ice-cream sandwich» with four toppings and it looked yummy! It was very good but a little disappointing after the build-up(the toppings were bland sprinkles and white/chocolate chips… they didn’t do much to enhance the actual ice-cream). After all that food, they brought us some chewy coconut macaroons to finish off the meal. Including a bottle of champagne and tip, the meal cost us about $ 130(aka $ 65 each) and I was happy to pay! The next night we ventured down for another scrumptious meal! We split the veal carpaccio — again, something new to me — and it was very good; nicely seasoned and just the right amount(though I certainly could have eaten more). Second course: rack of lamb. It was the most delicious lamb I’ve ever had — cooked perfectly, red in the middle and seasoned excellently! We stripped the bones it was so good! The lamb came with a side but I don’t remember — nothing stands out except the lamb! The dessert was a trio of chocolate custards… kind of disappointing but still high quality. Again we received an amouse bouche, palate cleanser, and sweet bite at the end and again, after a bottle of champagne and tip, we paid about $ 130. Breakfast was so-so. If it hadn’t been included in the cost of our rooms, I probably wouldn’t have gone there. The prices were a little high and while the service was still great, the meal wasn’t great for the price we would have paid. Between the«Italian Bread»(French toast), omelet, eggs benedict, and waffles, nothing stands out as having been particularly delicious. DEFINITELY visit the Dining Room if you’re in Bretton Woods — it’s an experience not to be missed!
